It's always helpful to add up the points for each brand so that you are clear about who scored better. I don't want to spend time watching the comparisons, to be confused at the end as to which one was the best.
Do you have a suggestion/favorite for an overweight dog with chicken sensitivity? My 5y/o rescue dog has been on Purina One Lamb & Rice for a few years (I add carrots or other veggies too). But she’s struggling to lose weight (shes 32lbs and should be about 25lbs). She also has a mild heart murmur purportedly from grain free diet when she was at a shelter. The vets say this food she’s on is “fine” and had no other suggestions.
First check to make sure your diet isnt all life stages, then make sure you are feeding the weight they should be, not what they are using the resting energy requirement. I have several videos on this. Lastly, I wouldn’t necessarily limit yourself to a chicken free diet because all OTC diets likely have some chicken in it because unless it’s an RX diet it’s processed with other diets and is not regulated. This may open up your options to diets like perfect weight ( I have a video on that one) or other restrictive diets like Purina OM
This channel is more about giving you the tools to evaluate the food for whats best for your pet. I just point out the important things to look at and all the tricky marketing traps.
I tried a bunch of high end foods for my Dogo Argentino mix and nothing was working for her and I was having to express her anal glands weekly. Switched to Purina One Lamb and Rice and solid poops! I just add additional probiotics and glucosamine to her food. Very pleased
The purina brand is really broad. Some of their foods are better than others. You should check out my video on pro plan vs Purina one for a more in depth explanation. But the short answer is, it depends Wich Purina food you are talking about.
Purina puts a lot of scientific research behind their foods. Totally can trust them! Switching my girl from Nutrisource to Purina Pro Plan. :) They are the few that meet WSAVA guidelines.

Do you think Purina is an alright dog food? I was feeding my dog the "healthy" dog food that doesn't have the grains and corn but he starting drinking a lot of water and peeing like a race horse. I got him the Lamb and rice and now he's drinking water normally again. He's a senior dog too. 14 years old.
@@AnimalDocRea He was taken to the vet for it. They said it was because he was old. It seems that it was something in the dog food because it has stopped.

Hello, I have a question is grain free food better than regular dog food?
Grain free is actually recently proven to cause heart failure in dogs. It is recommended that if you feed grain free you change as soon as possible
Or ad some home made grains to your pets food, de cuality of grain free food its better, no corn,wheat , soy and no by-products.

I would get into your vet as senior dogs with increased drinking can be signs of more concerning conditions and not likley related to diet.
