I thought for sure we were suppose to see them re-enact that whole scene with Ahsoka and Sabine from the Rebels epilogue but i guess not.
@@TheDarkPorkins they can also change the final scene of rebels by making her hair longer and changing her dress of the epilogue as they got complains regarding Sabine's boy cut hair.

I think we have a tiny bit of Ezra in the hologram that Sabine is looking at. I'm also pretty sure that some of those shots are taking place exactly at the epilogue, and Sabine's hair is just longer in live action than what it was at the end of Rebels.
We did get photos of the cast at Celebration and they showed Sabine in full armor with the shorter hair. So yeah either she cuts her hair later in the show back to be shorter, or she simply grows it out by the time of the show. Since the shot they show of recreating Rebels ending has her with long hair, im betting they do a slight rewrite that she grows her hair out after the Rebellion ends after she stops fighting, and then cuts it short again after joining up to find Ezra

Yes, it's definitely Ezra! He's wearing the same outfit he wore in his final transmission to the Ghost in the Rebels finale. So exciting! The only character we didn't see was Zeb, but we got to see a preview of him in the Mandalorian, so not too disappointed. I know he'll be there!

There were reports last year that Lars Mikkelsen, who voiced him in Rebels, was returning to play the live action version but the actor himself said in January that he hadn't been asked to return. He could very well be lying of course and it's weird that Lucasfilm haven't announced any casting for the character.

That is true.
However:
The Shot is identical, with the only difference being the background.
To that, at the Convention they've shown a replica of that Mural we see in "Rebels" and it was supposedly seen on the set of "Ahsoka" Series as well.
Back when "Rebels" ended, the New Republic wasn't a thing yet.
So this could be just Filloni remaking that scene with the current state of the Galaxy.

So much still to come. The nightsisters, the undead army, Hayden Christensen, Sabine using Ezra’s saber, Ezra doing some Dragon Ball Z stuff with the force etc. I’m so so excited
I think even more than you think on top of it. They are using the world between world symbolism in Ahsoka's logo for the show for a reason. I think a majority of this season is going to be build-up, but I see it like this: Bad Batch season 3 reveals the full plans of the Emperor's cloning, then after season 3 of Bad Batch, Ahsoka season 2 comes out and she uses the world between worlds to thwart Palpatine's original plan in time to revive himself (pushing the sequels to an alternate timeline). This will also probably result somehow in the world between worlds never being accessible again.

As a long-time fan of "Rome", seeing Ray Stevenson (the bearded antagonist with the orange lightsaber) in Star Wars is so amazing. Delighted that he's still getting high-profile roles like this, he's an amazing actor. To say nothing of everything else we got in this trailer. I really need to watch Rebels, huh. Cheers!

I’m a big Rome fan too. Stevenson played Gar Saxon, and do you know who voices Fenn Rau? Kevin McKidd, and the animated model looks like him too. Here’s hoping we get Rau in live action at some point.

Also, I'm questioning whether those are actually Sith, or another faction entirely, based on the CLEARLY ORANGE lightsabres, and that they seem to be attacking both Imperial and New Republic troops
I think they're meant to be red, it's probably just an effect of them using physical lightsabers as opposed to digitally recreating the blade, with the latter being able to recreate the white center of the blade
Def dark siders, but yeah i dont think they have any allegiance to the Empire. Maybe either helping Thrawn take the Empire, or working against him

Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla already look so incredible in live-action. Also, I was quite surprised that Huyang from TCW is appearing in this.
He will be important. He has the schematics for all lightsabers on file. Something valuable for maybe a Jedi and Twilek generals perhaps force sensitive son? 😮
"Evil Santa" (apparently a character named Baylon) is played by Ray Stevenson (Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone, Volstagg of the Warriors Three in the Thor films, Firefly in GI Joe Retaliation & the evil governor in RRR).
But he is also the voice of Gar Saxon on TCW & Rebels. And he co-starred on Rome with Kevin McKidd, who voiced Fen Rau on Rebels.
Two things... Pretty sure we got a tiny glimpse of Ezra in the form of a hologram Sabine was looking at in one shot. And, the new (potential) dark sider kind of reminds me of Valkorion in terms of his look.
Also, I gotta say, I appreciate the hell out of you getting up so early to react to this trailer and get the video out. For pretty much all Star Wars content, your reactions with Bendu are one of the ones I look forward to seeing the most.
Yeah they got Eman Esfandi, who will be playing adult Ezra, to dress up as Rebels-Era/19 year old Ezra. I'm thinking we'll see him reenact Ezra’s last message to the Ghost Crew where he told Sabine he was counting on her.

At first, I thought that there was no way that could be Valkorion. Then I remembered this quote of his:

It was confirmed during the Ahsoka panel that Lars Mikkelsen will be playing Grand Admiral Thrawn. He was on stage with the cast. They showed an extended version of the trailer to the audience where his face was shown. So I am even more hyped.
The “heir to the empire” line hit me. THRAWN!!!!!!! Wanted to see more of him but at the same time glad they are holding back if that makes sense. Can’t wait 😁😁😁
I really hope that the Filoni live action film they just announced IS Heir to the Empire, and we can get some of Luke, Leia, Han, and Mara. Also....Pellaeon anyone?

It is Huyang at the end and it's confirmed that David Tennant came back to voice him. THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!!!
It might be processed a bit deeper, but the vocal rhythm(?) [I don't have the vocabulary to describe it] was unmistakably David Tennant to my ears.

According to the captions, the droid IS Huyang, and David Tennant was confirmed to be in this.
I also did no recognize his voice through that, but David has made his money sounding like many different people, not to mention there's a lot of processing on his voice in this.

Kyle Katarn, that is Huyang from the Clone Wars. As a Lego collector. The set leaks for Ahsoka have been released and one of them was a T-6 shuttle. It comes with Ahsoka, Sabine, Huyang, and one of the two new inquisitor-like characters.
Watching reactions to Baylan activating his orange lightsaber is my favorite right now.

In the novel "Heir to the Empire", Thrawn enlisted the services of a mad clone of Jorus C'baoth. It would be awesome if that's who the dude with the white beard is... played by Ray Stevenson. The blonde with the red saber might also be Mara Jade.

We can also see them using the Force, so it's unlikely he's Jorus C'baoth.

HOLY POODOO! I don't really watch trailers anymore, but I made an exception for this!
All I know is Dark Side Santa is Ray Stevenson...he played Volstagg of the Warriors Three in the 'Thor' movies. He does look completely badass!!! He also was in the amazing HBO series 'Rome' as Titus Pullo, and even did a big-screen version of 'The Punisher' (but it failed at the box office). Recently, he was the evil Governor Scott Buxton in the Telegu Indian film 'RRR', which won the Oscar for Best Song for 'Naatu Naatu' this year. He had a badass, if way over the top moment in the movie that defies physics...but was still cool.

Seeing Ahsoka and the ghost crew from rebels is mind-blowing!!!
A few points of interest: We see a clear inspiration and homage to the original book series by Timothy Zahn, the so-called Thrawn trilogy from legends. In the trailer, Ahsoka even says the name of the first book, Heir of the Empire. Orange lightsabers are unprofessionally homemade, unstable, similar to Kylo Ren's. This is a reference to the Dark Forces Jedi Knight game series, where the dark Jedi cult had such swords. From this series, we could already see Dark Troopers used in The Mandalorian. Filoni is a big fan of Legends and uses the best of them in the canon. Dark Jedi - not inquisitors, there are speculations in the trailer that it will be Jorus C'Baoth and Mara Jade. We see Ezra for the first time on the hologram. Hera actor is the wife of Ewan McGregor :)

I may have watched this at least 10 times by the time you posted this. This was so insane so many easter eggs. Live action Hera and Sabine and chopper and thrawn.

The old Dark Sider is named Baylon. Dude looks like a grizzled beast, love it. Also notice him and that blond dark jedi's sabers are more orange or blood orange than red

They are Blood Orange / Blood Red (both reference the same type).
Something that's so far only appeared in the "SW: The Old Republic" Game.
Which is interesting, because that Game is not Canon - is a part of Legends.
Same as with the Old Republic as a whole - it was replaced with the High Republic in Canon.
And they don't mean that.
The Blood-Orange Crystals are aligned to the Dark Side.

True, but given how Filloni loves the Legends, I doubt he would change it that much.
One of the key parts of Jaren's character was being a Clone.
I'm more inclined to believe this is some old force-wielder who is aligned with the Dark Side, but didn't want to support Sidious.
Hell, it's possible that the reason we see him in the World-between-Worlds is because Ahsoka gets him out of some past time period by an accident.
Given the "Heir to the Empire" line, Im beginning to wonder if its Joruus C'Baoth and Mara Jade. If that's the case, thats an interesting about face Lucasfilms is doing as they would be taken from parts of the Expanded Universe books.

Isn't there a certain love interest of Luke's in the story, a certain Mara Jade? If they bring her in as that role....we can most likely say that the sequel trilogy is in an alternative timeline....

I had the privilege of getting in the Lucasfilm Film/TV panel. Watching this trailer on the big screen was amazing. I was also very impressed with the Acolyte, Skeleton Crew and Andor teaser trailers that came out. The Skeleton Crew trailer in particular gave me the ‘Amblin’ 80s vibe in many of the shots.
Evil santa's lightsaber looks ancient, like an unpolished version of a lightsaber... It looks like the Ralph McQuarrie's lightsaber concept.
