You never miss, Wade. I would like to take this chance to bring up my dissatisfaction with sword and Shields ending, where you beat Leon and then he, while very clearly crushed and frustrated, just brushes it off and cheers you on. "let's all see what he's gonna do next!" and then the credits roll, and the post game content involves fighting him again, showing that he never actually gave up. That whole part of Leon's character goes entirely unexplored in favor of giving us a "happy ending" after foiling Galar Elon Musk's sustainability plan. The game yadi yadas what could've been its own Gary moment.
Fuck the Gary fight at the end takes me back I remember in leaf green the first time I fought him I only had a Zapdos, and a blastoise and a few heals left no revives and I tried to beat him over and over again until one day I did I felt so good after or when I beat primal dialgia in explorers of time for first time
