The 5.0 is a 302 ford engine I had a 87 f150 with the 302 4speed transmission . I always run mine down like that and when i put a new chain on i keep the old one to cut rough stuff just a tip go to baileys for your saw needs and a lot of other things to do with logging.
Nice Work Truck!! OLDER is Always Better!! MUSCLES APPROVED❤ Landon Liked, the Video.. Seemed like a New Intro? Nice... The trees are Falling Right & Left...😊 GREAT JOB!! EVERYONE DOING WELL I HOPE!! LOVE & BLESSINGS TO ALL... ❤ I'll take a Prayer Not feeling up to par lately.. took a couple falls on top of that.. Connor liked the Way you used the phone to describe Dad Finding Truck!!!😂 Landon with a Little Practice You'd be able to Moon walk & Make that Sound😂
Love the channel . Your family so reminds me of mine back,in the 60's and 70's I am very happy your dad found a truck just for the Woods. i love the older trucks, These new trucks are way overpriced. you could buy a mansion back years ago for what one cost now. I will stick with the older ones. Tell your dad My dad would run all his Chains like that and only change them if they started to break off. For many years people would bring their Saws to have dad sharpen them till he got to where he could see well enough anymore. As always I liked and shared and hope others do also. May God bless your Family.
NICE truck! It'll be a GOOD one! 3/4 ton, 4x4, long bed, straight drive, runs and came with a DOG! Can't beat that and I was thinking how the saw was cutting and quivering that Pop sure knew how to file one. I usually take 3 or 4 licks off the drags on a NEW chain and will go on past the angle line when they get worn down. If you keep the drags down they'll really string it out. And I gave up on Oregon. Stihl chains stretch less BUT they're harder and'll hold an edge longer. You can tell the way they're harder to file. God less Yall!
Great video!!!! Truck sounds like it runs good. That’ll be a fine work truck. I just bought some OREGON 72LPX081G 81 Drive link super 70 Chisel Chain online for $24. We sure look forward to your Thursday videos. Hope y’all have a great weekend.
I decided to go down the YT rabbit hole of gear matic winches since you all keep struggling with yours. There is a ton of good info on there and lots of not so good and folks pulling their hair out. It seems like a fairly simple concept but everything needs to be cleaned ,lubed, adjusted and every part must work completely right within tolerance for them to work correctly. There isnt much adjustment so it falls in cleareances being proper. Hopefully you all can finally get it figured out while Pops still has hair to pull out!👍👍 Looks like a good solid work truck and seems to be Muscles approved!
Nice work truck, got fuel tank on it so can fill equipment up instead of cans . 'We sharpen our’s till they start walking when cutting, then new chain . We sharpen ours by hand with file . When saw starts cutting not straight that’s what we call walking . Stay safe stay country.oh yeah those are some nice looking trees
I used to work in the woods a little bit. The guy worked for he’d going buy a full chain and make his own chains up. He had to machine to put them chains together and that was cheaper. It was better key.
Use the saw chains here in Australia until the teeth starting breaking off, coz a 100ft roll of 404 these days costs around $800 AUD, for a 21 inch cutterbar, around $120 AUD and the old Ford truck you paid around 2 K there for here will set you back around 15K AUD, by the way AUD actually stands for Australian Useless Dollars! I bet it makes you glad that your logging in the US and not here coz even when we do make a Dollar profit, it's still only worth 60 cents in USD! Keep up the good work boys.
Is that a Hercules winch? If you adjust it so it free spools it won’t hold anything. And if you adjust it so it holds it won’t free spool. We had one of them. Contrary to say the least.
Appreciate all of y’all! Thanks for watching!!
PRAISING THE LORD WITH YOU!!!

Hard to beat them old fords. If thats a 5.0 liter then I thinks thats a 302. I love them small block fords. They go forever. Keep the videos coming
I may need to borrow the truck. On vacation passing through your area and transmission went out in Crossville.
We go pass the line here in Ireland and the chain is about 30 Euro for the 20 inch Stihl chain
They are expensive here as well!
Dang beat me to it. I'm just down the Sequatchie Valley from Crossville. Lol.
Haha you could of had it!!

I though my chain away when it gets down to about a quarter left have a great weekend guys
Thanks!
Nice work truck. Like to see those trees a falling. Dad is dropping em like they’re hot. Connor looks like he’s grown another couple inches.
I think me Connor and Isaac grow at least half an inch a day lol
What a gem. Will make a good woods truck. How is Isaac doing.
Doing better every day!
I used to work in the woods a little bit. The guy worked for he’d going buy a full chain and make his own chains up. He had to machine to put them chains together and that was cheaper. It was better key.
We have thought about doing that before Clifford, do u still log?

Congratulations on the new old truck. Be sure you check the brakes. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Be safe 👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks Maw maw, haven’t seen u in a while! Hope your well!

Dale said that it looked like Muscles was liking the new work truck
Hey aunt Tammy! We thought he looked awful comfortable on it haha
I run a 500 i also an I have stretched out some Stihl chains to the point that with the tinchwner won't keep it on the bar
It’s very good to get the good out of the chain!
Looks like Muscles approved of the work truck.
He loved it!!
Awesome truck, I’d give that for it.
Sounds just like SE Wisconsin
Duct tape, baling wire, and some JB Weld will fix that old Ford right up. 👨🔧👍👍
No kidding Thomas! Those are the necessities of life 🤣
Betcher up and doin' at daybreak too!
5.0 is a 302 good engine I have an 86
Awesome! Do u like yours?
If my chain is still cutting good i run it till the cutters start breaking off!
Same here! How long it normally take it to wear out for you?
Is that a Hercules winch? If you adjust it so it free spools it won’t hold anything. And if you adjust it so it holds it won’t free spool. We had one of them. Contrary to say the least.
It’s actually a gearmatic it’s very contrary to say the least
1 tree at a time
Slow and steady 🐢
That’s one solid money maker.
We gonna enjoy him
I file a chain until it doesn't cut anymore.
Same here Smity
Keep cutting
Nobody else wanted the truck because it was a Ford.
Haha
Lol I get all I can out of them until they start pulling teeth
Haha that’s the best way for sure
PS looking for a German Sheperd puppy...
Sorry its a Ford !
Gearmatic will send you mad
Sure will!
