That brings back memories of my younger days, working with my Dad and brothers. Back in the late 60's. Over the years I guess I have ran every piece of equipment made. God bless and all my very best from Upper east Tennessee. Liked and shared.

I'm retired in Myrtle Beach SC, but I grew up on a 500 acre dairy farm in upstate NY. The farm went belly up in 1976, so my 2 brothers, cousin & myself started a hardwood logging company. Logged our land then logged whatever we could win the bid on. Only lasted about 3 years though. Couldn't compete with the big companies. Sure miss it though!

I used to pull cable with bare hands until one day a broken strand sliced open the palm of my hand. It was not fun for the next several weeks since I still had to use my hand and took longer to heal. From that point on there were leather gloves on my hands whenever I pulled a cable...even if it was brand new. A bit of wisdom.....you might be tough but you are never as tough as you think you are.

You have some really nice heavy duty equipment for haling the trees out, I see you got chains on the tractor tires that helps the grip, And the guy with the chain saw was doing a fantastic job ! he knows what he is doing. You all got that big red out no problem. and you did a great job with the camera work, It was like I was right there with you. Greetings from Wisconsin ! A fantastic video! I enjoyed it ! Keep on logging.

Check the fluids everyday that’s important to. Your dad knows all that equipment needs to be kept in good condition and greased and cleaned. I’m not talking Spitshine. I’m talking you know. Keep the sticks and crap off the floor. Keep the wood away from the radiator. You know do a good job like y’all do. That’s really important to keep your equipment and tiptop shape.

Hello men what I'm seeing is when y'all go to hook up your logs why is it you don't back all the way up to your logs and hook up and save pulling all your main line out some times it may be over a 100 feet and I understand some of the hills are steep but 90% of time back all the way up to them and then you'll pull about 10 feet out Im a 4th generation logger and sawmiller my son is a 5th im in the Ozarks of missouri i put my boy on the skidder when he was 9 years old dragging in steep hills get your skidder against a tree c lose as you can save your back pulling cable it will work a 100% better . Stay save and always look up the trees for dead limbs look them over good this might save your life 1 day.

Would you feel comfortable asking a man from Mass. or any northeast state to quit putting "R" at the end of every word? Would you feel comfortable asking someone from the Midwest to quit talking in a mousy pitch? Would you feel comfortable asking a rapper to quit sounding so "rappy"?
You should be ashamed of yourself. It is amazing how some folk think that "They sound right" and someone with a pure language of old "sounds wrong". Condescending much? Eat poo and bark at the moon. Witch.

Not to bad off a spot for logging hardwood, still running old timberjack can’t be to bad NO chain on front tires 🛞. D11 CAT soon 🔜 put a road on side hill for you buddy . Here in western BC Canada 🇨🇦 we drop our timber on side off the mtns . Make better lumber 🪵 at the mills . Remember THINK 🤔 SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST in the forest . SAFETY is in # in the wood . 😊

That’s really important to keep your equipment and tiptop shape.its hard dragging that 5/8 cable to them trees.
