Man 2002, easier times! I'm born 1992 in East Germany, and I always loved living here. And we still do Trabant meetings with many people being interested born after 2000. It's great.
01:36 Just to be fair... The Empire of Austria-Hungary startet WW1 in 1914, and the German Empire was obliged to join and support that war because of the Austro-German alliance treaty. Same with WW2; a crazy Austrian dictator started WW2... and Germans did follow him blindly.
As a Brit it’s uncomfortable hearing the Berliners discuss UK healthcare near the beginning as what they’re saying is true. Unfortunately the UK is presently in REAL shit and not just in healthcare.
The mean household income in the United States was $6900.00 in 1965, the year that Medicare and Medicaid were established. The cost of a month's stay in a hospital was easily paid in full by a middle-class household in a reasonable time. Currently, the average monthly cost of hospital care is about $80,617 US dollars. The intrusion into healthcare by the government raised the cost of healthcare 600% from 1965 to 1975. Governments create problems and then offer smoke and mirrors solutions to fix the mess that they make.
You are only in deep shit if you find this obnoxious and pretentious fool Jeremy Clarkson funny. The way he choses people to show them up and let them allegedly confirm his prejudices is lower than the bottom of a cesspit.
@17:28 BTW: The guy who expressed his taste for Blue Nun asked after drinking it: "Is' Wein, ne?" Which translates to: "This is wine, isn't it?" So you get some clues about his expertise.
Henning Wehn - the British think we Germans have no sense of humour - but we do laugh a lot - the only difference to the British is we laugh when the work is done.
Kek this is top banter "I enjoyed it quite a bit, until you bastards started shooting at us", i am in tears, that guy is gold What a somber end. Great show, gonna binge that thing.
That first German who spoke at the beginning , his name was Hans !! He was brought by English parents from 4 months of age and didn't say a word until he was 14 !! As a historically interested would like to add that Germany is not only a 100 years old. It was the Holy Roman Empire of German Nationality which was founded in 962 AD and devolved 1806 so Germany has over 1100 years of national history
It was recognised as a region in 962AD. It only became a unified state in 1871. I assume this is the reason for the 100 years reference in the programme.

The BBC and Jeremy Clarkson produced jems. As a German in the Gen Z generation i´m proud to be german because we managed to come out on top despite everything was against us. I see myself as a German but I also feel like a european and I can´t imagine why people just did this earlier.
Sabine, absolutely gorgeous,RIP!Going round the "ring" in a Transit Van in just over 10mins on "Top Gear",priceless!
36:32 *I visited Köln [Cologne] Germany in the early 60's from the UK on my Triumph 350cc Motorbike and on the campsite with a few Feldschlößchen Lagers, was having a chat with other similar aged (early 20's) Germans, and one asked have you been to Köln before, I said no but my Dad did, "How did he like it?" - I don't know he just dropped his bombs and said let's get the Hell out of here - They all rolled over laughing !*
Yeah I doubt they did.
@@k.k.8394 i don't and I've been there. some germans actually do have a sense of humour.

Man 2002, easier times! I'm born 1992 in East Germany, and I always loved living here.
And we still do Trabant meetings with many people being interested born after 2000. It's great.
This moment, when you realise that service station at the motorway is the one next to your city and it still looks near to exactly the same...
this is gold! didn't know jeremy was also making these extraordinary documentaries about europe
Having been married for 15 years to a wonderful lady of German / Hungarian extraction , the laughter section killed me .
Finally Jeremy Clarkson Meets the Neighbours is on youtube. I have really missed this show. Also, great to see Sabine Schmitz :)
once again thank you so much for uploading this!
R.I.P Sabine Schmitz........You are solely missed❤
01:36 Just to be fair...
The Empire of Austria-Hungary startet WW1 in 1914, and the German Empire was obliged to join and support that war because of the Austro-German alliance treaty. Same with WW2; a crazy Austrian dictator started WW2... and Germans did follow him blindly.
Thank you all for uploading these episodes! Ill be sure to subscribe in order to catch the upcoming Spain episode
Nice to see Sabine again , she had a sense of humour too :-)
R.I.P. Sabine, unapologetically German, a true petro head, a beautiful soul.
Germany is famous for beer , found barrels at Bodensee lake 8000 years old. Barrels were the reason why homo sapiens started satteling at one place
@@_Alfa.Bravo_ : HA, you said "Homo" 😆
How is it that Clarkson hasn't single-handedly gotten us into WW3?
Because he's just a television presenter who's opinions don't really impact on world governments?
Really cool, would love to see Jeremy doing the same today again.
Great segment. There is nobody like Clarkson.
Great to see Sabine (rip) driving the BMW E39 M5. I have had my one since 2008.
Henning Wehn - the British think we Germans have no sense of humour - but we do laugh a lot - the only difference to the British is we laugh when the work is done.
... and we lover "Dinner for one" at new years eve
29:00 Was this the first time we were introduced to Sabine Schmitz?? RIP
Kek this is top banter
"I enjoyed it quite a bit, until you bastards started shooting at us", i am in tears, that guy is gold
What a somber end. Great show, gonna binge that thing.
"Germans have no sense of humor" guy matter trolls Clarkson with ironic humor without cracking a smile.
That first German who spoke at the beginning , his name was Hans !! He was brought by English parents from 4 months of age and didn't say a word until he was 14 !! He banged the table with his fist and shouted " This AppleStrudel is cold in the middle !!!" . His English parents said " Hans all these years you say nothing !? All these years you are silent ! why ? " . Hans said " Because up until now everything had been quite satisfactory ! ".
is this supposed to be funny

I'm glad these are back up again, I watched these 10 years ago with 3 parts of Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands
The good old days. So many memories. Jeremy was in his element here 💯

02:40 Its now 32 Years... still not done :) Greets from East Germany xD
That's been half of my daily dose of six minutes of laughter. Thanks a lot.
It is quite sad to see Sabs, still so alive and full of energy.

Herr Schmitt caught me off guard with that little joke 👏👏👏
Anyone knows what's the song at 23:36 and 26:16?
I tried shazamming but i couldn't get any results. :p

As a historically interested would like to add that Germany is not only a 100 years old. It was the Holy Roman Empire of German Nationality which was founded in 962 AD and devolved 1806 so Germany has over 1100 years of national history
Do we smell a whiff of far right propaganda? Something about bird's dropping and the other Gauland rubbish?
Let me guess: you’re a German, right? That’s the most German thing to write.
@@roadtripusa9433 yes I'm german but I'm also right
im from belgium but i love germany
It was recognised as a region in 962AD. It only became a unified state in 1871. I assume this is the reason for the 100 years reference in the programme.
Most underrated comment ever " I enjoyed it untill you bastards started shooting at us" Lol im dead.
