I've been looking for these episodes for the last decade. I'm a huge Jeremy Clarkson fan. Before this I could only find short 2-3 minutes that was flipped. Thank you.
That silky smooth 80s sax interposed with the selection of late 90s and early '00s Moby, Kylie Minogue, Fatboy Slim and other mainstream electronica is absolute pure mainlined nostalgia.
He smoked a huge spliff, asked Germans about Nazis, drove a stretch Trabant, stayed in a Soviet Hotel, seen stupid Spanish events... and most of all, he took a ride with "The Nürburgring Queen". What a life, Jeremy. (Though you missed out big time not having visited Portugal)
@Drew Fleck yep, a segment in the track in Algarve. I say he missed because in these episodes they dig into the country's culture. He would have loved the food =)
@@ROOKTABULA it's funny you say that. I actually wrote this 👇🏻 yesterday in response to ua-cam.com/video/XNZokvs81aU/v-deo.html "James May is a legend. He knows full well that people want to hear what he has to say. "Should the bonger come on halfway into the carwash or at the end?" Is a question not meant to have an answer. I will watch anything that he presents because he talks to me, the viewer, like no other presenter has ever mastered and make no mistake, he mastered his craft - presentation - better than anyone else ever has... apart from maybe, Clarkson. They're different sure, but they both worked very hard at perfecting the craft of presenting their programming to me and you, as individuals. And they're brilliant. I do like James May more though. Not because I think he's more authentic, they both are, I just think that James enjoys it more"
Ahh good old times, peace and wellbeing and fun. Never seen this series and I'm not from UK but somehow I got the nostalgia. The world is sh*t now and inhuman.
I love this bloke.... he is a wonderful interpreter of western/southern Europe. it's like going from British Columbia to Alberta in the Canadian commenwealth of north america... yay!!
I love all the Moby riffs/ incidental music in the documentaries too - I've heard them in some of the other stuff Jeremy Clarkson does, I'm guessing Clarkson is a Moby fan lol.
Your comments about us paying for Spain's roads is spot on. In Gran Canaria I came across a few roads that were new with lit lamp posts and pavements, perfect in every way and they went for miles, except they were in deserted areas and leading to no-where in the hills. Total waste of subsidy money.
Watching this makes me feel the US and UK have even a closer "special relationship" than I ever realized. Amazing really how similar the two countries are.
I Remember when healthy piss taking between countries was on tv like this. It’s entertaining and well meant pointing out their successes to bring balance. What a watered down and woke mess we have now.
If you're not timid, LMFAO? Instead of bragging about having hunted a slow-moving, defenseless, and *literally* brainless animal - come wild boar hunting with me in heavy cover, using a crossbow. Around here, we call it giving nature a chance ;-).
@@wesgregg6451 Um, I was rather stupidly daring parasites to take over my body, though I did boil rather than use the acidity of lemon juice to make it a bit safer. But yum, wild boar! In Hawaii they do it with just a knife. Yeah, I'm more of a fisherman, lol. More of a gatherer/forager than a hunter, I suppose. Many meals complemented by weeds like amaranth commonly known as pigweed to us farmers, or wild mints and cress and scapes. I stay away from mushrooms hunting, though...
pretty much just a time capsule this show. and also lots of evidence of things that came, the bit about the albanians smugglers and the aging population will be with me for a while now..
Yep, cancelled my license fee. As a white, middle aged, straight, Englishman, with somewhat right wing political leanings. I'm not paying them every year to repeatedly tell me what a piece of deplorable scum I apparently am at every possible opportunity. They used to be a world standard for impartiality, now they are just blatantly ramming their woke agenda down everybody's throat. RIP BBC.
I love the Russians. The literature and the music from the late 19th century. Then the mathematicians and the scientists from the late 20th. But the politics, never.
First time seeing this as an admitted "daft Yank" but everything was as expected, and then Madrid happened, and I said ohhh this is why Brexit happened...
Cool of you guys to post this bitchin show I'd never even heard of before. Thanks. Would it be possible to do Hammond's really cool show "Crash Course?"
Out of all the places 300 kilometers away from Britainia... I'd have to say that the Bask are the most elligent and pure of all the European countries, yes! love those tappas
Many years later...the Med and isles are truly shit holes. I seen it from the super and mega yacht side. The country side and more rural areas are fantastic. Where the "old" people live.

This series is a cultural study gem.
Not the first time, watched this on YT last week.
How come Five have all this 'BBC' stuff?
Possibly ironic

It was the only music the BBC had in their archive at that time I guess :D

I will consume any program that this man puts out. Jeremy Clarkson is a brilliant presenter - rivaled only by James May.
Rivaled? Try _surpassed_ by May.

Don't forget Hammond
This was only 20 years ago, watch this and remember what they took from us.
The best upload on UA-cam today!
I've had this on DVD for years. Now if we could get the series "Speed" and "Motorworld" up I will be so happy. Clarkson rules
Rest in peace Sabine
Clarkson and James May can make ANY subject worth watching👍
Hammond too yo!✨️🎉
@@gumunduringigumundsson4315 Yes, but does Hammond do shows like Jeremy and James? I need to watch.
@@danf321 oh yes. Like his big machines episodes for example.

so Jeremy Clarkson visited the same German Mine and tested the same slide I also visited an a child.
I really didn't expected this 😂
This series is pure gold (so are a few of his other individual ones from this time period), good that it's getting the recognition it deserves.
Brilliant! He's a showbizz genius, no argument
I’m glad to rediscover this series again, well done Fifth Gear. Maybe we could see Clarkson Speed next uploaded?
It is on UA-cam. I have a saved playlist of it. But the uploads aren’t mine.
Yes please
This sounds track is absolutely awesome 👌

The Nurburgring. James May's favourite place
I like how Clarkson has never changed as well. There's so much we can learn from the slow cooking movement but we don't have time.
love it! the musical background is awesome, too!
Mostly Moby, Massive Attack and Fatboy Slim.

If anyone is wondering, the song that plays at 1:13:59 is called 'Moby - Natural Blues'. You're welcome.
It is by Moby but the title of the song is 'Natural Blues'.

That was absolutely fantastic! It's a real shame it cut out a bit early on the credits though
What I'd give to go back to this time.... the world was so much better
Born in 1999, reminds me of my early childhood
Jeremy smoking that huge joint is sooo hilarious 😅🤪🤣

Clarkson predicted Brexit...
Jeremy's sense of humour is the best
It’s therapeutic !
oh bravo... I love the way Jeremy mocks and incognitively insults the french... oh my goodness?!!! 😅
