Belgium only counts 11 million citizens but has the most intellectual, musical, athletic and scientifically advanced individuals per capita in the world. As one of the 'lowlands' this geographical region has been conquered by the French, Spanish, Romans, etc... Most Belgians I know speak at least 3 or 4 languages. Learning different languages at a young age stimulates the brain to make associations, which benefits the general development of cognitive capacities. As a result Belgians are really sophisticated in general.
I challenge you to find an academic source for: "Belgium only counts 11 million citizens but has the most intellectual, musical, athletic and scientifically advanced individuals per capita in the world." This because it sounds like nationalistic conjecture and is a very simple perspective. For example: "most intellectually advanced" (what does this mean) and what is the difference between that and "scientifically advanced"? Once again: we need sources otherwise it's just a biased opinion.

Don't move there, the income taxes are horrendous.
My mom is Dutch and my dad Belgian. My mom always says, think twice before marrying a Belgian. hahaha. They love eachother to dead, but my dad is an intelligent mess, who doesn't seems to grow up and my mom super organized. My dad can't drive, he thinks he's a rally pilot and trafic signs are just street decoration. My mom always complains about how Belgians drive. He's the best dad i can wish for. When other woman look at my dad, my mom gets super jealous,. My parents are so hilarious. 😂😂
Much respect for the Belgians for their ease in finding ways to entertain and commune among themselves.
Not seen a joint that big since I rolled a 'Yellow Page over 35 years ago :-)
Glad you found a left hand drive E type :-)
I'd guess there's probably more left hand drives remaining than right, due to being sold in more more markets and generally in better climates..
The pupesmoming championships sound incredible. Best I've made it is about 2 hours. It takes some dense tobacco and a very cool smoke to last that long. But too cool and it goes out.
Had an absolute laugh watching this, I am from Sint-Niklaas (Saint-Nicholas) myself and had an absolute chuckle when suddenly I saw you talking about my little town :D Although I have no idea if that pipe smoking club still exists today, the pipe and tobacco museum still does though :D
lol! I am from the village of "Ooigem", this was excellent stuff. in the classic region dialect, this was called ""vinkezettinge".
I gotta say, Belgium looks pretty much right up my alley! Those are totally interesting social gatherings, where you can meet people and socialize. I like when people use imagination to come up with excuses to come together. This is no worse than bingo. What is the point in dancing? Not that Belgium is actually anything like this, but I like that these things exist at all.
in my local yearly fair, there's a group who dress up like english monks and ride a bicycle drunk attempting to throw darts at a board
@@joerivandeweyer3056 I like how each Flemish village seems to have its own obscure traditions
@@Teun_Jac tssss you ever heared from that guy Fritzl in Austria, way way worse
I really want to go now
Yup, I remember going to the hippodrome in the French countryside. It was a family outing for the Sunday, lots of picnics, and the occasional race that people would bet on for fun and a bit of excitement.
5:00 Jezza, if you dont smoke a pipe then you couldn't understand.
The rest of the video I found very interesting apart from chirping birds but I got state here and now that the best bit was the E-Type with its beautiful lines and a decent set of tyres that are much more than a coating of rubber on a rim.
Thanks mate.
Don’t be daft.
He's such a fantastic journalist, love the way he just goes along with Penguin Man with 100% respect
Haha, Frank "Jacob" (Jacobs) is now a car reviewer for Autoweek :)
Thanks for this, it is brilliant.
I can not view the next episode, it is set to private.
Bring back the Tuf-Tuf Club, echte helden man!
I didn't know this series existed 😳 its great!
Thank God for Clarkson
This is the best episode of the series!
It's quite strange to see Jeremy Clarkson on the Fifth Gear channel hajahaha
These are gold I’d not heard of this before! Thank you!
Honestly, we should definitely bring these ancient Belgian sports back. It's even more boring here without those sports
Love these episodes. They are freaking time capsules.
Jesus !
You Belgians have the best beer .........IN THE WORLD !
And your choclate ...........
Your medeval city's and their architecture are top of the world .
Be proud to be a Belgian .
Do not forget the fries 😉
@@mushie8447 the fries !
Come on , no , I meant Victor Horta , the great architect of the Art Nouveau .
He influenced the whole of Europe in the late nineteenhundreds .
Half of Brussels still have his buildings .
And how about Henry van de Velde ?
Your history is far richer than even most Belgians know .
@@mushie8447 Belgium fries are the best in the world, and so is their mayonaise. Every weekend, hundreds of Dutch cross the border to eat Belgium fires. in a PUNTZAK!
@Teamgeist well , thanks to the hard work of your ancestors , you live in a nice country instead of a third world shithole .
Isn't that something to be proud of ?
You are a proud wallonian or a proud flemmish, cuz Belgium is too divided. It's Wallonia and Flanders are like 2 different countries, they don't share the same culture or even language.
The music in this episode is absolutely banging
I am Dutch, and even after having seen this 20 years old movie, I can tell you: I still don't know what shaving sex is.
@@peteralexander3791 Why you should bring your own razor blade then? I guess you shave each other or something like that.
Amazing! I could watch all day it's that entertaining/informative. :)
Haha, this video made me even prouder to be a Belgian. Hilarious
And not a penguin.
Hi Jeremy, indeed the Jag E is a beautiful car, even after all those years!
🤣 i laughed at that
14:25 Honestly, this is pure gold
I lost it seeing this. Clarkson feeds his penguin…😂😂😂
Thank you for the video!
