I mean if you watch lower level racing series, there are plenty of people who drive just like him IRL. Hot headed young kids with an invincibility complex.
@@vdubs1112 the difference is, that you can punch them in the face IRL, so usually they are a bit calmer. But sitting in their rig- HERE GOES a new VERSTAPPEN

@@adarne64 it’s okay I bought a GT3 car and was at a 3.8X safety so close to a fast promotion to get my B class to race it. Then got taken out 3 races in a row, down to a 3.2 i believe. Rollercoaster of emotions.

Great race. Crazy race. I think I'll stay in Rookies for clean racing :-D I caught myself leaning as you were going around some of those corners with Jan and Craig right up on you.

Dave totally agree, my recent races I don't qualify start in 18th moving up to 4th in the end, and 20th getting 2nd place in the end.
Each race I take my time and I don't even race I try get a space in the traffic and hot lap the car.
The racing penalty system is just so broken right now with the standard of driving its impossible in my opinion to race and gain rating unless you are really lucky and end up in races with drivers you know you can trust. its as if drivers don't user crewchief to listen to whats around them or simply don't care.

Fun watching this. I am because this is the only road course I am familiar with in real life. I've not driven it, but have watched many races there. My favorite turn is the tight, left handed #5. Its not apparent in the vid, but the approach is quite down hill, putting a premium on good braking technique. There's a set of bleachers just to the right side of that turn which is my favorite spot to watch from. Just imagine me over there, cheering you on!
BTW, at some point you said you didn't want to be in the woods. Summit Points woods are actually quite nice, laced with dirt roads and dotted with rough campsites carved out between the trees. Lovely place to walk, but unkind to errant racecars. :)

Just started my MX5 journey this year and we're at Summit this week. First time driving the circuit and squeaked out some decent laps but seeing how smooth and controlled you are is inspiring.
Really excited for my sim jack pedals to arrive next week and begin my hunt for a wheelbase and probably two rims (Formula 2.5x? and a cheaper round wheel for everything else) Gotts do some homework regarding wheel compatibility and cost first though

When you ignore all the knobs the global Mazda cup is one of the best series on the service cause of the close racing. Shame people have to ruin it for no reason but it’s still a fun series when you can find good people to race against.
Drivers there are just overly aggressive for no reason. What's the point of putting your nose on the side of a car before the apex at high speed?
@@MrRaphaelLippi yeah they are and they don’t make the best decision. I usually try to back out of situations like that where people try to go wheel to wheel at high speed corners, I’ll just let them through and pass on the next straight. Every now and then you get some good close battles with good drivers tho that’s what I love about the Mazda cup, I feel like gt3 lobbies have more people dive bombing tho atleast from my experience.

Nice save.. you could tell the GT3 driver cause he was using all of the track when that’s not necessary in a Miata. That was a dirty lick that bout crossed you up.

Dave, I wanted to mention when you hit your pit limiter by accident, have you got your pit limiter button set to your toggle switch on the mpx. It hasn’t happened to me but some people have said they have hit the toggle switch in a tight hairpin. Maybe set it to a button and don’t have anything critical that can effect your race on the toggles.
No, mine is set to the top right button which is super hard to hit by accident. I just got unlucky I think 😁

I think the only guy Jan didn't murder deliberately was the guy who went outside on turn 5, when he spun. He was off the racing line and expected everyone to go inside. Other than that, the kid's playing Carmageddon, not iRacing.
I would have been happy with a top 12 in that split.

I think Dave will record a replay of the race afterwards and then embed it in to the recording of the cockpit view.
I have seen a live stream with a similar off board view but he had a second pc with a second iRacing acount watching as a spectator and inserted that feed into his main stream in real time.
It's recorded after the race and put in during the edit 👍

Well Jan has a very poor Senior Karting record so I guess thats no surprise based on his simulator work.
Why don't real life racing drivers understand that they can very quickly gain or lose fans based on how they race online?
I think Jan needs a brake for atleast 30 days. Terrible driving from him. I can't believe that he is a real GT driver.
How do we know then the player actually is THE real world GT4 driver? Anyone can choose freely a name as long as it isn't given already - I mean, I could name myself Alain Delon in iRacing... and as long as the real world doesn't play iRacing or at least not under his real name, anyone could create an account with his name. So how do you know he is the real world GT4 driver? Did he proove?

Dead Head Fred turned left in a right hand corner. 95% his fault in my eyes. He was clearly trying to keep you behind him. Sometimes it's best to fight cleanly and possibly, momentarily give up a position and try to take it back later. At most you lose one position instead of turning into a lumberjack. Obviously, Jan feels it's his track and he'll do as he damned well pleases. He got what he deserved in the end.

Right Said Fred and Jan Duran? Sounds like an 80s revival! Don't agree with your assessment of the incident with Fred. IMO it falls on the car that's behind to avoid any coming together there.
I was to his left (just) so I earned the right to have space. The natural line for him was over to the right which is why I called it a racing incident.
