I ran a hosted session with like 15 Supercars drivers a couple years back. I load up that replay file anytime I need a good laugh. Aussies and Kiwis elevate banter to an absurd level, like impossible to drive laughing in tears.
I've finally achieved my life long goal of becoming a biggest winner in a dave cam video! Good race mate, you're very quick for someone who doesn't drive these cars often haha
One awesome thing about driving these cars is the confidence you have when you drive something with more grip afterward. I use them to warm up for other races sometimes. It really works well for getting me loosened up and in touch with what the car is doing.
These are so great! They handle a fair bit better than the old ones; you can put the power down and really control the slides; the racing is really close as folks are all making slight mistakes and dynamic corrections on every lap. And the sounds 🤤
I've almost completed my Asetek collection. I had already bought the La Prima wheelbase and formula wheel, and for Christmas my mom bought me the La Prima pedals. I don't have the clutch yet, but that's all I need for the complete set. For Christmas and I bought myself a dof reality H3, and an extra buttkicker gamer Pro. So far, the rig is feeling so much better than it ever did before.
Lovely to see you in arguably Australia's greatest export Dave! If you fancy jumping in a league race with a bunch of similarly talented Aussies (Mon or Tues evenings Down Under time), let me know and I'd be glad to organise a wildcard drive. Would be an absolute privilege to chat to you in my commentary booth too! 🤟
@Dave Cam thank you very much for all your videos during the year! They are all highly enjoyable thanks to your personality. Merry Christmas to you, Julie and your clan. Love from New Zealand. Gonna have to buy the new gen3 supercar now.. cheers
It really is a tough car to drive, yes you need to be smooth, I think this is a good upgrade for Supercars. Still a little taily but over all it is fun to drive. Merry Christmas and have a safe New Year.
Different question Dave. Several years ago you put out a video on how you edit and publish your videos, but I can’t find it on your channel. In particular I am curious as to how you add the “TV cam” to your videos. I able to record my cockpit with overlays using OBS. I imagine you change the file extension, how? Using OBS? Have been searching how to videos but to no avail. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks and have a happy new year.
I like this class so much I went looking for the MPI wheel and a button box replica/reproduction. Turns out the wheel is not sold to the public and is twice the price of the "replica" and noone makes a copy of the button box for the wheel. Talk about a bummer
You can take all 4 tyres in a pit stop as they are done at the same time as the fuel. Have you timed it Dave, as a 35+ liter stop should cover all 4. Lol I should have waited till after your pit stop 😂
I have the crew chief auto fuel turned on just not sure if the auto fuel in the iracing black box needs to be checked. Unless it doesn’t matter if it’s selected or not.
Don't think he was actually mad at him for the start (completely reasonable move with the better launch)? Just remembering who he had been ahead of to measure if he could get it back
Just treated myself to one a couple of weeks ago and I agree with Dave that it's not that it's a massive pace advantage. It's really about finally being able have a brake pedal that's simple to fine tune to just how it suits you personally. And you can do that so quickly without having to dig around changing elastomers and such. This also allows you to have different profiles for different cars... all setup to what feels just right for yourself. In my case it's also allowed me to zero in on pressures that don't aggravate an old left knee injury as well. So there are numerous benefits that are not necessarily about pure laptime, although I would say in cars like the V8 supercars (and Porsche cup etc with no ABS) being able to feel where you are much better has improved laptimes as well from having more confidence in the pedal feel because I can have it spot on where it works for me. I've never had that with any pedal set before, so to me it's well worth it.
Dave when you tested. You drove more confident and better in the Chevy then the Mustang, is that cause you we r getting used to the drive?? Or would you say the Chevy was a bit easier?? Lol. I'm buying one tonight. But most of what I'm seeing om track have been the Mustangs. Lol. Buying one tonight. Wanted your feedback
Nice. You were wise to have a backup ready, Jimbo is known to make the occasional mistake with fuel. It's really hard to estimate laps remaining in these fixed time races, especially multiclass, lots of corner cases... and you never know what can happen. I'm surprised Jimbo didn't tell you your tire wear in the pits, I'm guessing you turned off those sorts of messages.
@@davecamyt maybe he got nervous and forgot. He was too busy telling you that you were about to run out of fuel, even though you'd already come into the pits, you could tell he was all out of sorts with the extra pressure.
You said "what's the fastest pit stop" as u were entering pits and thinking out loud. At the same time, your car started making a horrendous sound as u reached pit road speed and I swore you were goong to ask "wtf is that sound?" Cuz that's what I was thinking.
Man. I love Aussie V8s but in iRacing, the racing just gets so stale. A tenth here, a tenth there, and not much actual on track battling. Safety cars would help. Something. Everyone does one stop. Nothing really happens. Not the best racing on iRacing for that reason.
Aussie timeslots add a level of realism I enjoy very much. Bazza and Dazza earbashing over comms is always good for a few laughs.
Definitely! So funny, I once ran Bathurst with aussies and I nearly lost the car due to a laugh attack

Always take 4 tyres in the Supercars, Dave. Fuel covers the tyre change.

Mate you need to use the sequential shifter instead of the paddles, its part of the visceral experience of the V8s!
Go on Dave! 100k very very soon. Hope you and Jules have a lovely Christmas 👍👍

These cars brought so many new names to the series and I’m glad that Dave Cam is one of those names😀👍🏻
Couldn't have clicked on this video faster!! Been running this combo all week and what insane fun. Glad to see you enjoying them Dave!
Merry Xmas Dave and Jules!
Looking forward to more great videos in the new year!
Cheers
Merry Christmas mate 😁
Love the new supercars. Pretty fun at the Glen too
I went from a 3 win streak in the M2 to coming last in the Supercars. Definitely a great leveller and a true humbler.
Very good Watkins race - as always - video. Enjoyable to watch.

That might just be possible with the time zone difference. It'd be a blast 😁

Thank you mate. Merry Christmas buddy 😁
This is the first time, I have ever watched a race at Watkins Glen without the chicane. This was bizarre.... Good race as usual, Dave.
Thanks Dave, I really enjoyed that one. Merry Christmas!
Cheers, Sev
Merry Christmas Eve Dave to whatever time zone you are in!!! 🎅 🎄.
And to all the viewers 💯!!!
Merry Christmas, Julie and Dave. Have a great day.
I will watch the video later because of holidays, but i have to say, amazing to see you drivikg these cars!
As an American I hope these cars stay popular! Holy smokes so much fun!
Isn’t the series Australian?
@@rastamoto Yes, but he is talking about the cars.

I haven’t done an official race yet. But these cars have been epic fun in practice and week13
Hope these cars get a push cause they’re REAL FUN!!!
You must be like Hammond... an undercover American! 😂

Real shame we didn’t race the Bus stop configuration in these cars
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.

With crew chief do you have to leave the iracing black box auto fuel box checked?

'Goal for today...beat Michael Campbell' lol
Mini objectives 😁
Do they feel like every other car in IRacing?(they all drift around the corners?
i raced michael campbell5 last night in production. he wasnt a bad driver. think he just saw you light em up off the jump
Don't think he was actually mad at him for the start (completely reasonable move with the better launch)? Just remembering who he had been ahead of to measure if he could get it back
Who does your setups?
Hi Dave. Curious to know how much advantage you feel you're getting with the active brake pedal.
All the best to you and yours
I wouldn't say it's a massive advantage, however I'm much more consistent 👍

anyone know where i can get set ups for the mustang? VRS only does the chevy
Both work for any car. 👍
@@davecamyt thanks for that
If I'm honest shutting off CrewChief helped my driving. As much as I loved Sweary Jim I found it a distraction more than an assist
These cars look fun, but it's too bad they don't have most of the active tracks from the series today. Especially Albert Park!
Nothing at all like the GT3s Dave, what?!
Hi! Auto blip or not?
OMG. Better car then Porsche Cup? What is the difference between in yours opinion?
Such a shame there are so many drivers out there ruining it for the other drivers. I’ve seen that many people abused and just taken out for no reason
Wait till Ringmeister week 4 Dave. I think I'll go to 5k iR haha

From what I've read they are absolutely identical (apart from the body shape) so I must have just been getting used to it 😁
They're completely identical. I went Chevy based on liking the in-car sound better 👍

so criminal to use paddles for these beasts
You should drive them like the dog box how they do in real life
What is he doing wrong?
@@loganbarnert1397 The real supercars require drivers to do heel and toe downshifts. Have a look at a supercars pedal box video on UA-cam.
These look great fun but the schedule for the rest of the season is a bit naff. No Bathurst for the first season of the new Supercars? Come on now
Yeah, Bathurst for this series should be there every season imo
Make sure to remove your Honey extension so Dave can get his money!
How do you get your race engineer to use your real name and give so much information so frequently?
Wait a minute....haven't you been driving this Coyote Mustang almost constantly over the past couple of weeks?
Well Jimbo got demoted wasn't he? Or just quitted, don't know. New voice just isn't crewchief 😢
What kind of split is this? In my races, if you aren't doing 1:47s, you are going to be dead last in a 3k SoF...
The guys at the front weren't going that much quicker. Maybe a hotter track.
"gt3 on steroids" you mean gt2? 😆
Should I buy supercars I am worried the series will die out
Be a part of the solution not the problem! Go for it! Even if it 'dies' there will always be a community that will make certain time slots happen

Yeah not really impressed with them. You can learn to drive them, but in my opinion they don't feel right in so many way its hard to list.
i racing graphics are horrible for the price you pay in i racing
