Now iRacing needs to add the GR010 Hypercar... (the 499P's rival from the WEC). I absolutely love the LMH's/LMDH's in iRacing even though they are so challenging to keep tamed at high-speed corners. Absolutely beautiful driving Dave!!!
Love it great race, and like some of the others this week has been a surprise. I broke away from the norm and raced your Mustang and it was great fun. I end up in P4, turned out to be a lot of fun.. I'm going to have to listen to you more often.
Im doing the mx5 trying to get my safety rating up even me staying behind people crash and do horrible rejoins. Last 2 days and everyone is losing there minds. All I need is make it 3.0 and move to B license. But it seems like is gonna take forever. Im sitting at 2.58 right now.
Running Ring Meister seemed to be the fastest way to gain SR, for me at least. So many corners that the accumulation is nuts, as long as you stay out of trouble, that is.
11:14 there is realistic fun, and simcade fun. apparently, iRacing has achieved simcade fun with this GTP build. I dunno. I haven’t yet tried out my beloved LMP2 since the update - I hear it’s slower now?
I really don't understand why off season makes people drive like absolute jerks. Just because there's no SR penalty shouldn't mean being an asshole to the other players...
There are a lot of bugs with the debris. you can go off track and have gravel shooting off your tire permanently and you lose grip for the entire race.
I also followed that logic of that it's very very fun, planted to the ground, creates good competion with a good tow effect... I know this is supposed to be a simulator, but please don't ruin good racing with simulation. Like you said, PCup is definetely not realistic. But that's one of the most loved/hated cars in the service.
@ Thank you for the reply. I seen that was what you were using in the next video I watched about the Super Cars I believe it was. Appreciate it. I will download Race labs later today probably. Thanks for all you do for the Sim Racing community.
People complain about realism People also can't get through a pace lap at 6k SoF... But seriously. Exactly zero project managers are concerned. This is how product development works. They released an MVP, sold it, and therefore funded more development. Every single person talking about Le Mans Ultimate should recognize that LMU sucks at NASCAR, rally cross, and FF1600 ;) iRacing has to gauge interest. There's not a single car that hasn't gone through massive post-release development. Remember when the GT-1 had no traction control? That's how there are hundreds of tracks and cars. How many do sims like LMU have? Neither approach is inherently superior. Each depends on its goals.
To be honest, if someone is only interested in having fun, they should be driving in arcade racer instead of a simulator. A simulator is meant to mimic real life. It is meant to be as close to the real thing as possible. If it's not fun to drive in real life, then it shouldn't be fun to drive in the simulator. People who drive in simulators are people who derive fun from the immersion of driving a real life race car. I think that's what all the griping is about. A simulator that creates a car that isn't even close to the real life car is a very very bad thing.
The highest irating I've got so far is 3000 one thing I have noticed is as soon as I get to about 2300 irating to 2500 irating the drivers are so desperate and extremely reckless. I always get knocked back down to 2200 irating and I'm not reckless at all I can count on both hands the amounts of times I've cause a accident in the 2yrs I've been on the service and don't even need all 10 fingers. The driving standard has been horrible for quite awhile now. Dive bombs, pushing people off the track, punting people and acting like it was a accident, ect. I don't see how yall stay above 3000 tbh it seems everytime I get there I attract the worst drives around.
I've heard from alot on reddit say the 2000 to 3000 range is some of the best racing. Anything too much lower you get people overdriving, causing accidents, and anything higher you get either drivers who are way faster than you or think they are causing very risky maneuvers. I'm sitting at about 1500 right now working on my sr and I gotta say it's pretty good driving all around. Finally made it up to A class.
I wonder how they release this in that state. I would assume "The Ultimate Racing Simulation", as they call themselves, has some sort of quality control, but apparently not. Within 10 minutes of driving you notice that its currently broken, but somehow it went through. That doesnt make them look good tbh.
How can they be aware and release it? lol. The other GTP cars are wrong also. Maybe after the new gaming Eng in a few years their stuff may be better. The more I drive LMU the less I want to drive iracing. Just the trucks for now, ir18 in leagues but that’s far and few between, all are fixed
@davecamyt 😳 I was actually commenting on the video before yours which was Jimmy's! Your video was queued up inline. Even though it hadn't finished when I started typing, it posted to next video that was queued up which was yours obviously. UA-cam glitches like that, it's pretty stupid. 🤷🏻♂️
Crazy how many high SOF races you've had lately! Edit: Hey has anyone else had the issue where it shows that I have only been a member on this channel for 5 months when you hover over my badge but I have actually been a member for over 6 months so I should have a silver star next to my name and under the perks menu it says the correct length. Does anyone know how to fix it?
@davecamyt thought that might have been the case also but I checked my bank and there was no interruptions so 🤷♂️ don't care all that much but was more curious if I needed to change it or something. Oh well and yeah Dave, no problem, you're actually the only subscription I have on UA-cam and never plan on changing that lol
This is the most fun I've had in the GTPs, and I could give less of a shit what the difference in corner speed is between this and real life. iRacing charges that much because it gives the best competition and most fun racing of any sim. I'm sure they'll take their time fixing it and bring speeds down to an "Acceptable" level to please the rivet counters but I hope this feel never goes away
I thougth everyone loughed and said this car is too easy to drive... It seems, it isn't 🤣 Perhapss, iRacing should leave it as it is. If they make this car more realistic, noone will finish 🤣
haven't played ice racing in months because I'm just more into Automobilista 2 these days, even more so with the 1.6update. That said its looking better than last i saw it
I don't understand why IRacing is Selling this car online.. if it wasn't ready or accurate! Implement the correct Hybrid system and comparable tire model so the car is accurate to IRL Iracing Nerfed the LMP2 series so more people would purchase the GTPs and this 499 Ferrari.
iRacing put out the car in week 14 on unranked races so they can test it while people act like idiots on track. They will fix that..the car, not the idiots unfortunately.
GT-1 didn't have traction control for years. They released the car like they release every other car: to gauge interest to fund further development. This is project management 101.
People mistook week 14 with a low IQ contest. I mean I get it if you want to race a little bit harder, but that doesn’t mean acting like some abused child. Half of the grid usually doesn’t finish the first lap, if I wanted to waste my time I would have choose something comfier at least. P.s. yeah, the “abused child” is a reference for one of your previous interaction in another video 🤣
I don’t think people should get up in arms over the hybrid deployment system mechanics because the average person driving on iRacing won’t be able to properly maintain the system in a race and in the real series if you run out of juice your DQ’d from the race. And regarding the speed the last thing we want is a nerf on the cars because that’s never good for anyone. This is all my own opinion and your all welcome to yours of course.
People should be up in arms because iRacing markets itself as the premier sim racing experience. People should be up in arms because they pay money to have access to drive the car AND THEN pay money for a subscription to have the privilege to drive the car. All of that money for a hybrid system and basic physics that are busted? These cars shouldn't have made it past testing yet.
@ Yo like I said it’s IMO which will never be your opinion. When I enjoy doing something I prefer to use constructive criticism to help that thing change for the better but if you hate something then I can understand losing your mind over it.
Sad to see you do this Dave... for you to sponsor the HEIST that iRacing has been doing with the GTP and now the LMH cars... USD£12.00 for cars ridiculously unrealistic for 2 years already -- 30km/h too fast in some of the most emblematic turns of the WEC and IMSA calendars -- and NOW, 50Km/h too fast... That was amazing racing with Joshua there man, good defense. I can't believe you were able to hold that line.
Been excited to watch you try the Ferrari! I'm having to race vicariously through you the last couple weeks until my brake spring arrives in the mail.
I was amazed at some of the races that happened this week in this series. I never thought I would see multiple 9K+ SOF races in an unofficial series

I see its common to end your race with a bang in week 13 😂 nice one Dave!

I just watched Random Callsign's and Jimmer's vids on how unrealistically grippy this car is. Had to tune in and watch you race in it 😂😂😂.
Yep, they're all at it. Can't beat a bit of negativity 👍
Does the windscreen wiper have to be in the middle of your view...is that standard ?
Yes it's standard. I've just moved the camera forward a little to get rid of the a pillar 😁

I love this car also. So much fun.
Is it me or are you shifting to 7th gear a little earlier? is it meant to be like that.

I hope they fix the Ferrari soon.
Not normal 9s faster vs real life in Le Mans !
Only 4s faster when the aliens are made to stick to real life track limits, but your point is still valid.

Juste à copy and paste of cadillac or 963 gtp !
