- Lung cancer is the most common type of cancer. While tobacco smoking is the primary cause of lung cancer, it can also occur in non-smokers, such as Bobbi. This video gives a brief insight into her experience in being diagnosed with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Today patients diagnosed with NSCLC are routinely tested for genetic mutations to see if they may benefit from advanced and effective targeted therapies. One of the most recent advances in testing for genetic mutations such as the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations is with the use of liquid biopsy. Bobbi got to experience a liquid biopsy test which is a simple and non-invasive alternative to the more common surgical biopsies. Her story is one of inspiration and hope.

Shirley here, I was a heavy smoker I started at 27 and finally quit last April 2022. I had to be rushed to hospital I could get my breath. They gave me treatments and medicine, and gave me that test they put in a artery to see if I had a blockage. None but I do have something that is wrong with the hear but I have copd. But I manage it it's good to breath when I am walking and not be out of breath, but I still have a good chance of getting lung cancer.
I pray to allah for healing you fast.I lost my father due to adenocaricona.I know you have to fight with you every day.Get well soon
Non smokers who get lung cancer have a totally different genetic mutation than smokers
Why does this just show up for me now if it’s 4 years ago?
You search terms must have been better matched with video's taglines
Now which egfr drug is going on
❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
What medicine or immunotherapy treatment are you on?
Immuno therapy is quite costly. An injection would cost around ₹ 4.5 lakhs
@@namuded3995 Have you tried using RSO for treatment?
Go for Cannabis Oil
@@namuded3995 I have 🥶stage 4 non small cell lung cancer ,, the immunotherapy called KETRUDA ,, actually made my cancer almost disappear but then it is started attacking my adrenal glands in my upper kidneys and my thyroid so then I stopped the treatments for four months and now it’s back to stage four and now I have an other masses so now it’s five masses and five separate spots I am now going through radiation and I could tell you that it’s been one year of a fight. It’s I’m in very much pain struggling every day and I pretty much know that I’m gonna die 100% gonna die but the cancer people won’t ever give up on you. They will never give up on you always remember that that they’re gonna fight for you to stay alive as long as they can keep you alive.❤
What is a liquid biopsy?
Liquid biopsy refers to the use of plasma (from blood sample) to test for biomarkers - specifically called circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) that refers to cells (and their DNA) shed from the solid tumor - hence the term. Traditionally biopsy samples are taken directly from the tissue or solid tumor, which is an invasive process and not always safe for the patient. This uses a simple blood draw instead, but its not widely used yet. Hope this helps
@@rdowlati Thanks!
People who smoke don't get the lung cancer till they are older, everyone I know new where in their 70's or more.
Correction: "everyone I *knew* *were* in their 70's or more."
@@deirdrekiely6187 sorry.
To everyone reading this please turn to Jesus He loves you and wants to save you, He is the God of miracles, The bible tells us in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, I seen God do amazing things in my life and in the lifes of people I know, He can do the same for you, In your darkest hour call on Him, God saved someone I love from an illness leading to death, There is nothing impossible to God, Its as simple as asking Jesus into your heart to be your personal Lord and Saviour, Jesus will answer you I know this because it happened to me when I called out to Him
Jesus Saves Amen 🙏🏼
So far so good. I called him 4 times due to bad conditions and nothing happened. I now have lung cancer. So far nothing.
Thank you for your encouragement and I know that GOD is with me I have no one to stand with me threw this experience I have one son that doesn't show any concerns about me and when I took my first treatment the nurse ask me did I bring some one with me and I told her that I brought JESUS with me , and I was so comfortable with my answer that it shocked her , he is the greatest healer and my best friend and I don't need no one else but him and I am confident that I will be okay and better than before . My favorite song is What a friend we have in JESUS ,
Jesus needs to back to church and sort those priests out
@@offensivediscourse8514 Yes - I agree!! Horrible abuse. Shameful.
why you didn't ask her is she a smoker?
They probably already know, and shaming someone for a bad habit is not healthy, plus I can only imagine the negative comments
non small cell adenocarcinoma is the most likely type of lung cancer to appear in non-smokers. Bobbi is a nonsmoker (look at description) and that is apparent by the health of her skin, teeth, and voice. The majority of lung cancers that appear in smokers are squamous cell carcinomas. While smoking is a profound risk factor- lung cancer does not discriminate.
She said she was a never-smoker. Also, from the description: While tobacco smoking is the primary cause of lung cancer, it can also occur in non-smokers, such as Bobbi.
Because they think only smokers get lung cancer.
