Great video! I try to watch all your vids for flute because they're so informative and helpful... and I need all the help I can get, lol! But I think you just helped me with sax as well! Thank you!!
Very helpful Jane , thank you for this great tip. I have a tendency to tense up when my instructor has me sight read something and my fingers start slamming down on the keys like crazy. I will start locating the tension spots and learn how to relax them . bless you.
That's very interesting Rod, and it's really good you've made that connection. I would also suggest sight reading the music slower so that you feel you have more time, and don't get so tense. Good luck! Jane
Hi Frederick. Circular breathing is not a normal thing that you would do on the flute. You definitely don't need to do it to play well. I've only ever seen 1 or 2 professional players use it, and even thought they do it amazingly well, it's more of a novelty thing on the flute, than a genuine technique. Robert Dick talks about it quite a lot, go check him out if you're keen!
Vorrei farle 1 domanda:quando suono delle note es. il Re o passo da DO a RE il flauto si sposta, come se tremasse.Come posso fare a tenerlo fermo.? È una cosa scoraggiante che fa perdere la pazienza.Se lei mi potesse aiutare le sarei molto grata.Grazie mille Eva.
To fix the stability of the flute when playing, you need to establish the three points of contact on your flute and body a bit better. Use your right hand thumb, left hand index finger (base of the finger on the side, soft part of finger) and your embouchure. Your right hand thumb should push forward, whilst your left hand should push towards yourself when playing.
