True but JDS is the fat guy destroyer he beat Mark Hunt, Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, Roy Nelson, Ben Rothwell, Blagoy … he literally won every single fight he’s had with a fat guy lol
Back in the day I sat ringside at the Texas Golden Gloves Championship rounds. In the heavyweight division, a stay puffed marshmallow, no body definition guy that was so white, he glowed. He was like a real life ghost. His opponent who was local looked like a movie star Hercules. He had a large cheering section vs Casper's half dozen. When they shook hands at center ring, you could see the huge difference in size and shape. The bell rung and they met again at center. Within a nano second the ghost threw a roundhouse that came so quick and so hard, it nearly knocked Hercules's head off. He was out like a light before even hitting the canvas.
How can you even defend against something with that much speed and power? Your dodge game gotta be unreal to evade that, coz if you try and block it, hello hairline fracture!
I used to work with a guy (different dept than me) who loaded cookers by hand into trailers 8 hours a day days a week. Beats several 30 second reps in a gym all day long....he was a beast....and fat.
Chris Barnett is probably the shortest heavyweight in MMA today. He is 5 foot 9, which is a common height for welterweights and middleweights. I don't know how he does it but much respect to him for taking on bigger and dangerous opponents.
He's heavy as hell for a shorter guy. If a short dude weighs more than a tall dude he's going to ragdoll him regardless. 5'11 Mike Hunt breaking 7' Struves jaw is a perfect example of weight in action.
Tyson was 5’10 which makes it even funnier, he was extremely dense and had huge hands. He closed distance and a guy that height of that weight can translate energy much faster
5’9 is even short for welterweight, with huge weight cutting going on 5’9 guys pretty much all compete between 135 for the skinny ones and 155. Leon Edwards the champ at welterweight is 6’2
Mark Hunt is a legend. He fought so many steroidheads and KO'd most of them. Manhoef and Lesnar were on all the steroids possible. Roy Nelson is up there too.

@@vyronphillips4568 it had been shown that Roy would tire as the fight went on. Roy was a guy who could made 185lbs if he had committed to a lifestyle change

This list is spot on correct. I've been watching ufc for 20 years. Love this list. Dead on accurate. Glad you gave Barnett a mook and yes Nelson is GOAT
People always forget, just because someone has higher body fat that doesn't mean they have less muscle or are less strong compared to those who are leaner. In fact, they usually have more muscle and strength.
Thats exactly why weight classes exist. You can pack more muscle and performance per pound in when you dont have the fat. Sure you can be fat and a dangerous fighter. But a muscled fighter of the same weight...will be more dangerous.
I was ready to begin to do HIIT workouts for awhile just to drop 30-35 pounds and then build it back up into lean muscle. I change my mind now, cheers🍻
I have a friend that reminds me of these guys. He's always been fat. But, he started studying karate in 3rd grade, and has never stopped studying, even spent awhile in Okinawa. We're late 40's now. He looks like a sumo wrestler and moves like a freaking jedi ninja on fast-forward. The speed and agility he has is mind-blowing, and, although I haven't asked lately, he used to be able to do a jump-spinning-back-kick (wait...crescent, maybe?) over my head. I think that if you're big the entire time you train, and stick with it, you learn how to do a lot of the same things thinner guys do, you just learn to do it with a bigger body.
Also the hand speed and accuracy. Gosh he is a legend for a reason. Why isn't he in this video? Cause he would be a whole video by himself. His sexy dad bod!! lol
There are some advantages of the bulgy bulge. For one, it makes you a more immovable object. It is probably good padding for hits as well. If it comes to ground game it can be terrible to have all that weight down on you. If you can carry it then it means you are strong anyway. I think the biggest issue is when they go down! Watching the thinner person get up looks much easier than the big guy trying to lift up the extra weight up off the ground.
Roy is a black belt in BJJ though, so he has a fantastic ground game, but his takedown defence and heavy hands mean he hardly ever utilises the BJJ. He's an all round fighter that happens to have a punch like a donkeys kick, partly due to his belly acting as a fulcrum, giving mechanical advantage with his overhand right especially. The momentum he generates by hyperextending and rotating around the centre of mass gives it extra speed and power, and since a hard punch is composed of either speed or power, upping both is devastating.
Doing judo, received a throw and held my onto my trainer who was at that time, 360lbs - now, that being said, dude landed directly on top of my sternum and rolled off, sprang back and said, "okay, this is why we do not grab or hold when being thrown." Lol, I did not spring to any action upon his body landing atop mine. Always a memorable moment in training.

@@davesampson158 that's what tank says man I don't know.

This video was so entertaining and satisfying, I can't even express how much!! Thank you!!!
We had a judo coach called Brutus. He was a huge man. He pushed and trained us harder than ANYONE!
my jodo coach was called franz. he was realy short and had a massive beer belly, but damn that guy was athletic :D when he got hold of you he just used his low center point to his advantage and planted you in the mat
Yo with trainers named brutus and franz you know someones getting folded that day.
Mine was Jean-Claude CABANNE, best judo coach of all south of France.
He trained Brigitte Deydier and passed 15 years in France team.
He fighted too one of the best heavy japan fighter several times, Yamashita.
JCC learnt me the most important in life, long life to all good martial coaches !!
Franz manfredi???
Man. Seeing all those really old fights and how young everyone looks. Just mind blowing. Im 32. I feel like im in the future now. The old videos seem like what life should still be like. Its a wierd feeling
Life gets worse as you get older so we could accept the final moments when they come, otherwise we would die in dispair and regrets

Even Fedor's jab cracks like a whip when it connects. What a combo!
This is one of the most entertaining underdog videos I’ve ever seen.
Man,
Roy Nelson…..
Looking like he just got off work to fight as a hobby is the Rocky of MMA to me.
Tank Abbott looks like him and Roy Nelson worked at the same job.
Butterbean is the American dream.
Those three makes this video so great to me.
Great job on the content.
I miss Roy Nelson, skilled, tough and a Mullet for the ages.. The dudes a legend..
Skilled yes, ufc great not so much
4:25 "More athletic" - Nope. Maybe more athletic looking but not more athletic. Barnett was strong, conditioned, skilled and flexible.
Looking athletic is one thing, being actually strong is another look at Brock Lesnar, Allistar Overeem and even Francis Ngannou he beat Overeem 's ass
With a little natural ability and a little training a fat guy has ALOT of kinetic energy to transfer to your chin 🤷♂️
True but JDS is the fat guy destroyer he beat Mark Hunt, Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, Roy Nelson, Ben Rothwell, Blagoy … he literally won every single fight he’s had with a fat guy lol
And a lot of weight to keep you down
Finally someone who recognizes us fat guys you got a new subscriber...
Mark Hunt was good at making his big overhand and his uppercut look the same, really hard to defend without footwork
Thank you for these awesome fighting videos. 👍👍😀🙂🥋🥋🥊🥊
When you’re hitting someone with constant right and lefts to the chin and they’re just smiling back at you, you know it’s game over
That's when the knees & elbows come in! If they can still smile thru knees & elbows ... run.
Butterbean is a absolute LEGEND!!
That man knows NO Fear.

@@Uriel77200
Good luck KOing him even after round 3.
That’s crazy. Guy had some hands huh….

I think fighters underestimated just how fast Butterbean could throw a punch. And once that thing was flying there was no stopping it.
How can you even defend against something with that much speed and power? Your dodge game gotta be unreal to evade that, coz if you try and block it, hello hairline fracture!
People underestimate how much mass plays into a fight. Also gym strength and life/work strength are two different things
I used to work with a guy (different dept than me) who loaded cookers by hand into trailers 8 hours a day days a week. Beats several 30 second reps in a gym all day long....he was a beast....and fat.
Then why do all mma fighters do strength training in a gym instead of working as a carpenter

Much respect to the Last Emperor. My favorite fighter of all time.
@@pieterlindeque7798 let's not forget Mike Tyson. Tyson is 5 foot 11 and he fought opponents who were 5 inches bigger, 50 lbs heavier than him.
Leon Edwards the champ at welterweight is 6’2
@@FilipinoSlugger David Tua as well

Mike was like Homer Simpson in that fight, Todd was wearing down from battering him.
Self control. He knew it wasn't right. (hummer punch him, that is)
4:30 “more athletic?” I think you just mean “not fat.” This guy is insanely “athletic.”
As an old, slow and excessively fat guy, I really enjoyed this video. I was going to give it a thumbs up, but I was too tired. Maybe tomorrow.
Mark Hunt is a legend. He fought so many steroidheads and KO'd most of them. Manhoef and Lesnar were on all the steroids possible. Roy Nelson is up there too.
For sure Lesnar and Manhoef were

@@Ben-xf7uy i love them brothers , they keep it 100 . i cant wait till the fight , i dont think khmazt has fought anyone of this levell yet in the ufc .
Fat guys can be on steroids too. Just saying
Hunt fought in Pride. All of those Pride fighters were on roids, the company actually gave it to them. Hunt even tested positive. Also Manheof was a small guy who started his career at welterweight and Brock was no even a real MMA fighter, Hunt was supposed to beat both of them.
This video is inspirational to all Americans.

Roy Nelson! My favorite UFC fighter. For his weight he's probably the best fighter for his physique. His stamina my god, if he could do that fat. Imagine if he was actually ripped and in shape, would be the GOAT!

Rothwell dancing over Reem was precious:D
People always forget, just because someone has higher body fat that doesn't mean they have less muscle or are less strong compared to those who are leaner. In fact, they usually have more muscle and strength.
Thats exactly why weight classes exist. You can pack more muscle and performance per pound in when you dont have the fat. Sure you can be fat and a dangerous fighter. But a muscled fighter of the same weight...will be more dangerous.
Absolutely. Most fat guys are solid underneath
@@HeartInLight as you see in this video
Off topic but, those liver punches from stipe on DC are the most perfect adjustment I've ever seen in a fight.
Very well made video! Channels like this are what first garnered my interest in the sport. Keep up the great work, you have a new sub.
I was ready to begin to do HIIT workouts for awhile just to drop 30-35 pounds and then build it back up into lean muscle. I change my mind now, cheers🍻
You can’t do that anyway unless you take juice.
Roy Nelson said it best. It's not about the body of the fighter, it's about the power behind their punch.
And also the chin.
My father often said, "Beware the barrel-chested man" 🥊
Seeing this video, that seems like good advice.

Fat might not look asthetic but it is still source of energy, in right amounts with right muscles it can wreak havoc.
No
@@dannyboy5423 yes
@@dannyboy5423 Look at the strongmen. They are considered the strongest strenght wise. These guys have high fat ratio plus the big muscles.
I notice Butter Bean s punches extremely fast and strong considering his body shape and weight.
Fast twitch muscle fiber beats slow twitch muscle fibers in striking
There are some advantages of the bulgy bulge. For one, it makes you a more immovable object. It is probably good padding for hits as well. If it comes to ground game it can be terrible to have all that weight down on you. If you can carry it then it means you are strong anyway. I think the biggest issue is when they go down! Watching the thinner person get up looks much easier than the big guy trying to lift up the extra weight up off the ground.
They weight the same 😅
@@zanicboom Who does? The video highlights 10 different people.
Agreed.
That’s the fun of heavyweight fights - impossible to predict.
1 heavyweight punch is all it takes.
They’re sooooo bad, is why.
@Sak Even top level boxing matches are ended in 1-3 punches at heavyweight. It is physics f=MA so more mass more force.
A nice video about Cheik Kongo and Stephan Struve being hecked 😅
Roy Nelson, butterbean and Chris Barnett are beasts!
Barnet is a legend. Love the energy he brings to the ring
That was one of the most savage nut shots I've ever seen. The sound alone, God dam
