fedor underestimated the strength of mark hunt. he was loosing this fight until the submission. 2 legends of the sport right here. the word legend is thrown around way to much but these two men are the definition of that. 2 beasts here for sure
Fedor did well avoiding striking game with Hunt and imposed a wrestling bout. He may have done so by sacrificing top position, but submission eventually came to him.
For sure I feel Fedor didn't expect Hunt to be so hard to toss. The first attempts at hip tossing he ended up on the bottom cuz Hunt was too big to fully swing around lol
Amazing by both - didn’t realize hunt did so well - was winning for sure . And amazing how many come backs fedor had - such composure and such a winner
The best quality about Fedor was his ability to finish a fight quickly when he was in trouble. Hunt and Randleman (God rest his soul) being the two best examples.
This atmosphere in Japan back then, it always seemed so awesome to me, id love to fight on event like that, with a crowd like that. All nice clean and cultivated, one gotta love it. And the rest of the deal, like the demeanor and caliber of Fighters we dont even need to mention obviously
Whenever I think of a true heavyweight fighter, Fedor always comes to mind. Neither to biggest or the smallest in his division, or the most ripped. But he was ridiculously strong, fast, and he could always hang in there until the end of the fight. And absolute unit.
Who would have thought Fedor would still be fighting 17 years later, and for a title. It's crazy. And so many other "new breed" HWs have come and gone in that time. A 23 year career in MMA is insane.

What I love about fedor , he truly respect opponents, such a humble person, and great fighter, that’s what makes him great champion
Happy new year lol
Fedor doesnt give shit to anyone hes such a humble person,
Yeah, some American MMA fighters could learn from those in other countries about how to act with class.
Michael Terrell II Lol. Haha. You felt the burn.
@Joe Dirt Lol heres another American feeling the burn. 😂😂😂.
@Joe Dirt Thats what you define it as according today's 'law'.
@Joe Dirt I noticed how you didn't mention any American fighters lmao. The other guy did clearly say 'some', but I guess that went WAY over your head.
You never wanna hear someone say,
"Oh, he's pissed off."
When talking about Fedor
This was actually a training session, Mark asked Fedor to teach him how to do Kimura
😆
The Senate Mark tried Americana but Fedor did Kimura
If so why he was trying to kill him to the back of the head at 9:27?
fedor underestimated the strength of mark hunt. he was loosing this fight until the submission. 2 legends of the sport right here. the word legend is thrown around way to much but these two men are the definition of that. 2 beasts here for sure
Fedor did well avoiding striking game with Hunt and imposed a wrestling bout. He may have done so by sacrificing top position, but submission eventually came to him.
@@lehapankoff absolutely sir
For sure I feel Fedor didn't expect Hunt to be so hard to toss. The first attempts at hip tossing he ended up on the bottom cuz Hunt was too big to fully swing around lol
This was the fight where Fedor started showing signs of slowing down. Around this time Fedor stopped weight training as well.
He probably didn't underestimate. He's a true prepared professional. He did what he needed to.
Two of my favorite fighters 😎✌️ real fighters not cocky clowns. Like we see today
Amazing by both - didn’t realize hunt did so well - was winning for sure . And amazing how many come backs fedor had - such composure and such a winner
The best quality about Fedor was his ability to finish a fight quickly when he was in trouble. Hunt and Randleman (God rest his soul) being the two best examples.
vs linland he had to fininsh fast he was bleeding too much
@@bennyblanco5555 Good call.
Good point. Two other great examples would be Arlovski and Rogers.
Оба великие спортсмены, уважуха
Two nice guys exchanging pleasantries before THROWING DOWN!
RESPECT ✊
Greatest champion of all time! That is how a real champion behaves! No crap, no shows, just ass whoopin! God bless Fedor!
Fedor ist immer so Respektvoll seinem Gegenüber bevor es los geht mit dem Kampf ❤️❤️❤️
The Last Emperor "Fedor" . Undisputed king of MMA
Pride by far was the best mma organization of all time imo.
Amazing fight. I miss this era. Love the fighters today for sure. Just something more gladiatorial about those years
Heavyweight GOAT. It's wild how the modern MMA newbs don't recognize his dominance for what it is. Made Sambo famous before Khabib.
Непростой соперник. Обоим уважение
Who would have thought Fedor would still be fighting 17 years later, and for a title. It's crazy. And so many other "new breed" HWs have come and gone in that time. A 23 year career in MMA is insane.
Wow Mark was really quick for a man of his size. He was doing real well there for a while
Maybe never be another one like fedor .for how great he was he qas equally as humble.that combination is just unheard of.both legends here but there can only be one king fedor
pride was the prime example of TRUE mma, great fighters, great respect for each other. no drama like you see in the UFC and most importantly a great presentation of the fighters there country I mean come on you could go on forever with it :)
Power, speed, technic, stamina, determination, no thrash talk, no waste of energy, no emotions, but respect and humbleness.
That's Feodor Emelianenko.
That's why he is THE BEST.
Both of these men class act warriors. None tougher or better. I miss PRIDE. Too much loose talk in the UFC to sell sell sell.
