THANK YOU!! It’s about time someone covered Louie Mueller’s bbq. I’ve always admired their bbq over anyone else. Father and son always took good care of my mother (she’s Japanese, 4’9” tall, couldn’t see over their tall countertop, which they found amusing but always treated her respectfully, which I appreciated greatly).

I live near Austin and the Barbecue is so good. You showcased some of my favorite restaurants! 😁 I so miss going to these restaurants for some delicious brisket, sausage, and ribs which are my favorits.

Franklin's and La Barbecue are my favorites. My family owns a vacation home behind Franklins since the 90s and we were ecstatic when Franklin's opened up. Some of my favorite childhood memories was going to Austin to eat BBQ (especially Franklin's). Parking sucks because everyone parks in front of our house, but parking in Austin in general sucks now. La Barbecue when it was a food truck was phenomenal. Best beef ribs I've ever had. My family went back this past summer before the school year started and the brick and mortar store was underwhelming.

The best bbq I've had was Brett's backyard bbq which is in Rockdale, about an hour outside of Austin towards college station. Definitely worth the drive😍

Louie Mueller’s bbq looks so damn good! I feel like if I took a bite of that brisket it would just melt in my mouth. I so wish I could try some. I even went on vacation to Texas almost 10 years ago. Kinda wish I went to Austin instead of San Antonio.
Yes you definitely shouldn't have wasted your time spending your whole vacation in San Antonio. The Greater Austin area has gotten stupid expensive to live in but it's definitely worth a vacation
Go elsewhere. Louie Muller is overrated, I assure you it only looked that good for the show. In all of the years that I lived in Taylor I never once had a good experience there. Dry meat, burnt beans, no thank you.
That's what I miss most about Central Texas. Moved to East Texas about 10 years ago, and there's no comparison.

Lived in ATX for 5 years and loved going out to eat BBQ. For those that don't have much time to wait, I'd recommend Terry Black's BBQ as it has the best balance of food quality and wait time

Ironically I am vegan/ eat fish when I go out to eat because the meats are not organic and I am allergic to hormones and antibiotics in meat that is not organic. I live in Austin and I'll tell you; there's truly a lot of great BBQ here but Louie Mueller's is a cut above even the very best. If you come visit make sure to go there, it's in Taylor about 30 mins away.
