The fact that a huge burger (the Pie'n burger) and an EXTREMELY thin burger that could be eaten in 2 bites (Burgers never say die) are almost the same price is insane
Yeah it’s really valid! But remember that they are so tiny because they are smashed. Some chefs claim that these burgers are more flavorful.
Burgers never say die is overrated. The tiny onions, ketchup, mustard and pickle make it taste exactly like McDonalds. Which isn't necessarily bad but I wouldn't call it one of LA's best burgers. Even with the thin crispy meat edges. Apple Pan, Hinano Cafe are some of the best to me. Pie 'N Burger is a good choice. Tommy's is an LA original, so I respect it, but the chili is the star of the show. I was super disappointed with Burgers Never Say Die.

Burgers never say die is a smashburger style, which is the ONLY style I eat nowadays. Pie n Burger is a solid burger, but if you want the perfect combo of umami, carmelized crusted beef and milky cheese, than Burgers Never Say Die is one of the best. Bigger is not always better tasting.

I have had all these burgers, and believe me Pie and Burger is a far more superior burger than the other contenders.
So have I. Burgers Never Say Die is better. They use prime ribeye in their beef mixture which is all I need to say.

Yeah, no we have higher taxes and stuff so for things to be more profitable we have higher prices and, pepole still buy stuff even tho prices are high and then the market uses that by raising prices until their sales go down to find the max payout.

I love this guy, what an honest, unpretentious reviewer! He's funny too! I really wish there were more reviewers like him out there, much better than the other presenters on food insider too.
Also, can I just say how much I appreciate the aesthetic of Burgers Never Say Die. I want to go there just to see that place. Look at the menu, you think it's like one of those classic snack bar menus with the coca cola logo, but it's really sneaky with how it says so much with so little. Like how it says Ice Cream and communicates "Vanilla and chocolate only" without using words or even pictures, just a little symbol you've never seen but instantly understand.
I love his road rage while driving around LA, this is exactly my experience every time I’m in LA lol I can’t wait to try out a few of these burger places!

Tommy's is overrated...take away the chili and you're left with a garbage burger...he uses the lowest quality beef patties and covers it up with heaps of chili...i'll take Fatburger over Tommy's, any day...

Best Burger I ate in LA was at Mo Better Burgers, simplicity, amazing cooked and fresh ingredients, passionated chefs, super friendly and nice staff. It was about passion for food and quality not quantity, like in most Burger Restaurants at hot spots. The patty was so juicy and tasty that you did not need any sauces. Just amazing Burgers...
Sad they have closed and moved to South Bay with a new owner. Haven‘t been there since, neither LA nor Mo‘s. Anyone reading this, who have been there and can review the „new“ Mo Better Burgers in comparison with the „old“ one? :)

Pie n Burger looks amazing. Simple, yet everything looks high quality. Just like In-N-Out. Last burger place is kinda pricey for what you get.

Of the four places that sell hamburgers, the one that I liked the most or at least looked very good in this video was Pie ''N Burger, where the hamburger looks much more organized with its fries and also with that delicious milkshake and that exquisite and irresistible red fruit pie, a whole carnival of flavors. Apart from the fact that I really liked the presenter Jeff Miller, who with those big blue eyes and good sense of humor, totally captivated me. 😉👍🏻🍻🍔🥤🍟

Used to go to The Apple Pan with my dad in 1960, it was our place. I was only 6 so I don’t remember much except sitting at the counter. We both got our hair cut at Dale’s just down Pico a bit.

Orange County, Southeast of L.A. has a number of awesome burger places. TK (The Kind) burgers ROCK! TK's have been around for decades. They have multiple locations including Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Mission Viejo and Santa Ana. Knowlwoods 'World's Best Hamburger' - originally in Placentia, I think there may only be one franchise left - in Irvine. The Frisco burger with a chocolate, banana peanut shake at Ruby's Diner at the end of the Huntington Beach Pier. Ruby's has other locations, including Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Fullerton too.

Tommy's isn't the same anymore. Still good but it's a lot smaller and more expensive and a slightly different flavor.
Caitlin Pascua I hate how they never added more beef to the chili, it’s all flour, Arry’s in Montebello makes similar chili with more ground beef though, better in my opinion, they also have better pastrami than the Hat.

I LOVE the reference, aka conceit, to "They Live"! Such a 'great' film, should be required viewing for HS Graduation. Those burgers looks good, but I like the last, Burgers Never Di, they did not cover up the taste of the meat, the others did, even the bone marrow one.

I used to eat at "Pie & Burger" in Pasadena years ago and it was terrific. I went back there two years ago and it wasn't the same. But I can't believe that you didn't include "The Apple Pan". The same menu, good quality and the same burgers, fries and pie for many years.
Fred's burgers in LA infront of John Muir middle school is the best .I remember eating fries in. The am before school
