I recently learned the English pronounce David Bowie like it rhymes with Howie. Nutty people over there. Actually, my family once had a dog with a discolored eye and I named it David Bowwowie.
Was gonna say "you pronounce Bowie like the knife" before I realized that still might not clear things up.

I just watched season 2 of The Tourist. It takes place in Ireland. There’s a scene where they play Piano Man. I was hoping they said his name, but nope.
It is pronounced as _Billy Joel_ 😅

I remember meeting two girls who kept saying they love this singer named Adelay we talked for 10 minutes about this new singer when I suddenly realized they were talking about Adele! When I tried to correct their pronunciation they both looked at me like I was insane gave me attitude and told me I didn't know what I was talking about and walked away! They were so confident and cocky and dismissive that it made me question myself until I realized that no, I'm not wrong, Adele pronounces her name Adele also, not Adelay! To this day I wonder how long it took before they accepted that they were pronouncing it wrong and how many people it took to finally correct them, or do they still pronounce her name Adelay 😂
