  • The Revolt 3 is the first ITX case from iBuypower that you can buy separately from a gaming PC system. It has an 18L size which isn't that small in the ITX case market but at the same time it comes with some pretty unique features like an included SFX power supply.

    • @PabzRoz
      @PabzRoz 3 роки тому +9

      It won't stop you from choosing your own power supply lol you can just replace it with your own if you really want the case that bad. Then you have an extra 700w gold sfx psu that you can do whatever with. $200 for both is a great deal once you see how much a gold rated 700w sfx psu is. For most people looking to build in an ITX case 700w would be enough and it saves them time and money with a pre installed psu with pre routed cables.

Because I couldn't be bothered with reselling nor would I feel comfortable with selling some kid some off brand Chinese garbage PSU that has 700W 80+ Gold written on the side but can only provide 450W. If ibuypower would provide it with a 700W Seasonic or the Cooler Master 850W PSU I'd consider it but I doubt they could deliver those for the same price. The fact that they didn't disclose the potential OEM can have two reasons: 1. They don't know who will provide it yet or 2. the thing is some off brand POS. I feel this might not be an option for them.. I mean they could totally have two versions with and without PSU, and it sounds to me they wanted to choose only one, not mentioning the mesh which more extensively complicates logistics and introduce more cost. I would prefer an included PSU with pre-routed cables to make the build process accessible to more people. I would ask that the cables be standard wire, but in a sleeve, for better flexibility and fit. It’s refreshing to see a company make a case for function over RGB bling, just please retool the 240mm fan/rad door to allow slide adjustments over the entire door length. This would increase compatibility in AIO models due to tank/expansion size variance. Amazing case, thank you for the opportunity to provide input in the development process.

    From a business stand point, iBuypoer should go with both No-PSU and with-PSU options. Let the butey choose which one they'll purchase. That way those with PSU's (or have a different PSU in mind) aren't locked out from purchasing, while those without any PSU's available won't have to worry getting one.

    Nice to see some thought has been put into this, too many case manufacturers are rehashing old designs and cutting corners.
    Kudos to them for the USB-C option, if your board has a header then it's the best way to go, and if it doesn't you can still plug into the rear port. If your board doesn't have that then you won't care either way, though.
    If you're one of the 3 people who already own an SFX power supply, then bare-bones is a great option. I'd be leaning toward the PSU inclusive option, if it were a good model. The price difference looks to be spot-on the cost of a comparable PSU.

    seems like a well thought out case, the handle and the headphone holder are amazing and the lack of extension cable is great. My only gripe is that it's too large to be portable comfortably. I would love to see a mini version with more limited gpu and cooler compatibility and sfx psu only to for people that like to optimize space as much as possible.

    I really like both options but if I had to choose it would be option #1, however option #2 is very appealing with having a 700w with custom length cables. Stick with the black filters but sell the silver and gold and possibly more colors down the road as options like the color front panels Fractal does for the Meshify cases.

    I'd vote no PSU. I'm from South Africa so i doubt I'll ever even see this case, but if you are in the ITX/SFF space already I'd imagine you have a PSU already.
    And with the Cooler Master SFX PSU's coming out more and more it should be far easier to find a well priced one.
    This also REALLY reminds me of an upright NR200, down to the size even.
    Edit: It's literally a vertical NR200 without the "bottom" rad, which is actually an awesome thing. Glad there is another player in SFF market.

    I think I'd like to see Case Alone/Black. However If you are going to include a power supply I'd hope it'd be a fully modular one!

    As for the included PSU's cables. It's a little bit of extra work, but if you carefully split all the cables apart it makes them 10x easier to work with. I did this once with an ITX build with a Corsair PSU that had those fused style cables.
    Split all the cables and then used a few pieces of velcro tape around each one to make them neat and tidy again and then was able to work with them very easily after that.

    I would really love to try this one. The traditional non-vertical mount GPU setup is such a plus for me.
    Also, the no PSU option and all black mesh is what I prefer.

    It's a bit late to chime in on 'case only' vs 'case + PSU' (both configurations are apparently being sold now), but I'd go with the former because I will not use a power supply that isn't highly rated by the Cultists Network. I do like the Revolt 3 however, and I might just pick one up. Thank you, Dmitry (for ALL your reviews). 👍

    Case only. Black front. Clean up the front io (as in, remove everything but the power button, also replace that power button). Remove the brand on the front, it's horrible, horrible stuff. If you have to have your brand on it at least shorten it to iBPWR or whatever. Interior looks basically perfect imo, but don't underestimate how much sff-enthusiasts appreciate "clean" exterior designs. There's a reason why stupidly expensive cases like the Louqe Ghost S1 and Sligers are even relevant, and why the Meschilicous will be successful. They look fantastic and are functional, that's it. It's shocking how few case-makers have managed to figure this out. Cooler Master seems to have solved this mysterious riddle with the NR200, which is a massive hit.

    The case looks interesting. I would say case only on that option, so people can freely choose their own powersupply and not feel locked into the one that comes with it. As for the other option, I personally like the gold (gives a kind of bronze look poking through the case), but I would say give people an option (even if it costs more or the other colors are sold separately and then the user replaces it)

  • @belladonnaRoot

    Case only. Integrated power supplies are convenient. But: 1.) ITX builders tend to be advanced builders that aren't going to be satisfied with a 'good enough' power supply. 2.) It's extremely tough to have pre-routed cables that work for every board; its a routine top complaint for pre-routed cases of any size. 3.) It has a high likelihood of causing assembly issues or other problems (looks at NZXT) that will cause major headaches all-around. It can be done, but I don't think it's worth the effort.

  • @davetechme

    Case only, black mesh, gimme gimme gimme!
    For real though, I'm kinda loving this in concept at least. Other than no ATX PSU support, this seems more appealing than the SSUPD due to mesh all around instead of a TG panel, riserless design, and lower price. I've got the SSUPD on order but I might have to replace it with this when it becomes available.
    I'm really liking the ITX tower trend. Smaller footprint means less desk clutter or even putting it next to the TV without looking too out of place.

    The case with a PSU, not only that SFX-L PSUs get super expansive and finding one can be a royal PITA, most people don't have one already unless they already have an ITX system in which case they probably wont upgrade anyway

    Option 1 please.
    This case AND a (80-plus GOLD rated) 700W SFX PSU would cost significantly north of $200 US.
    This would also eliminate the cable management headaches of having to route those PSU cables yourself.

    From further inspection, this looks pretty much like what you'd get if you rotated the NR200 by 90 degrees - which seems like an interesting route to go for ITX cases I think it's priced really well, especially given that the clearest competition I see is the Meshilicous which is $20 more, but given the concerns you've pointed out, I'm kinda unsure about actually going for this case in the event I actually get around to serious purchase territory (which, given the current stock situation, seems like a distant dream).
    Also, I think the $90 option without the PSU is the superior one, puts it in really competitive territory.

    case only. some people might already have a PSU, and there's no guarantee that whatever iBuyPower shoved in there is a quality PSU. I'd rather buy a PSU from a known brand and model rather than paying for the unknown. Or perhaps better, sold the case in both variant.
    Color experimentation is always a choice for me, so try gold out. don't be another NZXT H1 case or some other myriad of cases out there, be yourself.

    As a new PC user ( made my ITX in October) I thinks having a case coming with a PSU is better , a SFX 700W gold for 110$ there is no way to find it . For beginners having cable pre-route and an included PSU is a must to have !

  • @missionhawk0656
    @missionhawk0656 3 роки тому

    With the psu would give it a competitive price, and save the effort and possible added costs of finding a powerful enough psu that fits in the case - and with pre-routed cables as well; but selling it without the psu would make it more widely available and more personal, and give it more of an appeal for those who already have PCs, but the psi would be better for new builders or people who don’t have an itx psu.

  • @devackroyd
    @devackroyd 3 роки тому

    I feel like most people would be coming from a standard atx form factor to trying out a case like this, meaning that they wouldn't have a psu, so I think that's reason enough to include it! It was a nice part of the H1 that didnt catch on fire afterall! The cable routing being easier also improves the most annoying aspect of building mini itx! So I think the included psu would be well worth it for the bump in MSRP!

    Definitely prefer option 1 to have a standalone case. The only benefit I could see to selling with an included power supply is if they are planning on integrating the cable runs into the design, but that wouldn't really work for a case designed for flexibility.
