I wonder if you we let with the Noctua D12, lower height, then you would be able to reinstall the radiator bracket and add a 120mm exhaust fan at the top over the SSD card area.
In fact this is a slower version of what next consoles will become. And it's inspiring. 2028 consoles most likely will be built on RDNA 5 and Zen 6 with 2 nm process. All of these products are planned on 2026-27

Corsair strangely lists the max CPU cooler support as 90mm on their website. even with a 360mm AIO and standard thickness fans you'd still have 115mm. idk how they got to this number. -- I posted this before i got to that point in the video lmao. didn't notice Devyn also said that
Great build and great points at the end. Really hope Corsair will launch a V2 ASAP with a top fan, properly routed PSU cable and 25mm fan support for the front. A lot of stuff just seems like an afterthought on this case, although the aesthetic is amazing.
I have made a Thermaltake tower 200 build with the matx, 4090 and ASSASSIN III from DeepCool. All hot air goes from top and all the connections are on the top side, so maybe their design is better one than we have seen from Corsair in this video
The things that you want in this case were in the original design. Look at the Origin PC Chronos prebuilts, they show what the original configuration is. You can also see it in a JayzTwoCents video (the title was something about an SFF case that fits a 360mm AIO). But Corsair cound out that hanging the GPU from the top like that would lead to issues with the vapor chambers of some GPUs not working, so at the last minute they flipped the design upside down. Now most of the complaint points (bottom exhaust instead of top, strange PSU and cable routing, GPU pulling air in from the rear) are because they are the reverse of what was originally intended. There does need to be a V2 of this case because as they sell it now they don't make a great use of all of that volume.
@@kevinm8715 Glad I found this comment ... I did not build a PC for 7 years, but it's time to upgrade so started shopping for a case, and wondered why it looks different between JayZ video and what I see at local shop. Now it makes more sense, thanks

I love mini itx cases, if I were to do one like this I'd go the air cooling route myself vs a noisy aio cooler they're good but I just prefer the simplicity of air cooling & I'd go 100% no rgb.
Oooh... thanks for sharing. LOVE that case. I'm still using an AM4 rig I built in 2019 and will soon be upgrading to a 5800X3D. After that though, I could definitely see using the 2000D for my next one when I'm ready to go to AM5. Agree with your rig choices. Big fan of the Dominator RAM series and was already thinking about using the Chromax Noctua DH-15 with my CPU upgrade... love that look, especially since it does its job well!
I dig the layout of the case, but wouldn't the airflow work better if it were upside down? The default configuration has the heat from the CPU/GPU exhausting downward.
Gotta say Devyn another sick build ,that is so Clean ,wish I had the cash to build a nice rig like that ,,GPU’s pretty expensive still ,, Keep up the great work buddy ,commentary was good aswell ,Very Informative,Well done again 👍👍
I would say that as released the case is a 8/10 and if they make a few tweaks it could really be a 10/10 case. #1. Fit 25mm thick fans in the front. There is nobody buying this case who wants to trade normal sized fans for the case being a tiny bit shorter front to back. 15mm slim fans are much more limited in options, both from Corsair and 3rd parties. #2. Run the power cable internally. There is more than enough space for it and the velcroed cable on the back looks incredibly cheap and poorly designed. #3. Add a second USB-C to the front panel. The I/O on this case is incredibly difficult to access so having more front connections is essential. There is plenty of space for an additional USB port.
just discovered you, Devyn. You're a great filmmaker with really good taste and sense of aesthetics. I can see the influence of a particular australian small form factor youtuber, but you absolutely have your own style. bravo!
Nice video, but I have a constructive criticism to share: Since its a case overview and building video, temperatures and noise are more relevant than gpu+cpu performance when playing a game. I know you put temps in the overlays during gameplay, but I'm more interested in whole system noise and temperature while on load. We all know 7800x3d and 4080 perform well together. So, maybe include other temp sensors in your "case benchmark". Peace!
I keep coming back to this video finally sold on getting this over the hyte revolt. Was debating whether I want AIO or an Air Cooler will be trying the deepcool AK620
I liked the build. I want to put my new 7800x3d into an itx system. I think I am going to go with this same motherboard but something about this case...I'm not quite sold. I can't decide between this big one or going for something more compact like the Hyte Revolt or the SSUPD Meshroom. Decisions, decisions...
I would argue that Arctic Cooling, Thermalright and Thermaltake make similar performance fans to Noctua for much cheaper. That being said, I have all Noctua fans in my secondary PC and own their hoodies and deskmat lol. I won't deny liking Noctua.
My only gripe with this type of case is that the the motherboard port is on awkward position to access easily, otherwise a perfect case because I prefer vertical alignment for PC case. Currently leaning more on Fractal Ridge, but felt really pushing the limit. Slightly larger Fractal Ridge would be the dream for me.
Enjoyed the video and the build, nice job man. Wasn’t aware of this case when I started planning my current build but it’s exactly what I was looking for.
1) How does the airflow go? You press in air from three fans, but where is the exhaust? 2) is a founder's card preferable for this kind of build compared to a third party custom cooler? 3) is impossible to fit in a second 150mm noctua cpu fan?
1) Go the AIO route, front fans intake, use the side AIO to exhaust. Corsair cases are always AIO oriented. 2) No, you are baking your PSU with that pass through fan on your FE card.
Looks nice but the air-flow path is too restrictive especially with how the CPU cooler is oriented.. 2 of those front 120mm fans are pretty much blocked. I'll pass.
Can you explain why full 25 mm fans don't fit in the front? When I look at it (0:29 for example) it looks like they should be able to fit. I'm considering recreating this build and I really want to know 😅

Honestly we can say that nh-d15 it’s the wrong choice. Because it comes with 2 fan but you can use only one. So it would be more honest saying that nhd15s was the right choice. I bought also a gigabyte 650i and the mounting -7mm it’s not possible due to high ssd dissipator. That one was my fault. I'm really keen to hear opinions on this case versus the Hyte Revolt 3 for full air cooling : - on paper both seem designed for AIO water cooling (and it seems many Revolt 3 reviews don't think air cooling in it is a good idea) - but because of the classic layout, both cases can sacrifice radiator space to use tower cpu coolers, which simply cannot be done in other vertical cases which are pretty much all sandwich layout - for eg, cpu air cooling in a Jonsbo VR3 or Meshroom S requires a ~70mm cpu cooler and the radiator space is wasted, even with case fans - furthermore, it seems that there aren't any other widely available vertical SFF cases which accomodate tower CPU coolers - it seems there is a lot of criticism of the 2000d for overall size and lack of space efficiency - so isn't the Revolt 3 a "better" 2000D for full air cooling in the sense that it is smaller while still accomodating tower CPU coolers? - or is this just an "on paper" comparison that fails to take into account real life factors (such as layout and airflow paths)
Thanks for bringing us something different! It may not be perfect, but at least it's not one of the same cases showing up all over the place. Top notch video!!!
I really like this build, thanks. I'm interested in building myself a PC similar to this, unfortunately I need to buy everything, including a new PSU, which can get costly.
Maybe because they use AIO cooler? I might be wrong, but AIO cooler tend to restrict airflow with it's radiator, and since usually the fans for the radiator sets as intake, the heat from the radiator can heats up the interior and possibly effecting GPU too. If you wanna use AIO, make sure u have a great airflow to exhaust it's heat.
I tried similar, but with a xfx 7900xtx, the gpu just was hot pretty much all the time, even with the front fans at 70%, it just felt like the air was not escaping the case.
Sooo technically, the NH-U12A is gonna fit in this case right? I just want to make sure cause I'm planning to migrate from 4000D to 2000D without changing the cooler.
I was thinking the same. I just ordered the case and I am going to try migrating from a NZXT H5 Flow as I have been looking to get back to ITX. I will hopefully build this later this week
This build is amazing. Do you know if it also works with a Dark Rock Pro 5? Also, I have a RTX 2060 with only 2 fans, is it possible to add a fan on top of it to increase airflow? Regards
So I just bought this case as it was on sale for under 60 bucks. I like the idea of using air cooling, was thinking of using a Mugan 5 or Fuma 3 (as I already own both) which would allow the side bracket to be used for at least 1 fan at the top or possibly the middle one. Might even go shorter to allow slim fans on the side. This route seemed to help with the heat issues with a none founders addition GPU (have a Sapphire 7900xt or EVGA 3080 depending on how well this cools the GPU). I know this is really old video, but did you test that system with a non founders edition to see how much worse it cooled if at all?

I'm really keen to hear opinions on this case versus the Hyte Revolt 3 for full air cooling :
- on paper both seem designed for AIO water cooling (and it seems many Revolt 3 reviews don't think air cooling in it is a good idea)
- but because of the classic layout, both cases can sacrifice radiator space to use tower cpu coolers, which simply cannot be done in other vertical cases which are pretty much all sandwich layout
- for eg, cpu air cooling in a Jonsbo VR3 or Meshroom S requires a ~70mm cpu cooler and the radiator space is wasted, even with case fans
- furthermore, it seems that there aren't any other widely available vertical SFF cases which accomodate tower CPU coolers
- it seems there is a lot of criticism of the 2000d for overall size and lack of space efficiency
- so isn't the Revolt 3 a "better" 2000D for full air cooling in the sense that it is smaller while still accomodating tower CPU coolers?
- or is this just an "on paper" comparison that fails to take into account real life factors (such as layout and airflow paths)
Nice video, would’ve been great if it had more b roll shots of the final build
the DH15 is 165mm, how much clearance does that leave between the side panel? - Would you say the Dark Rock Pro 5 at 168mm will also fit?
Looking like Optimum's content, it's really good !
Thanks for bringing us something different! It may not be perfect, but at least it's not one of the same cases showing up all over the place.

Impressive temperatures, nice and cool!
Isn't it suboptimal that cpu cooler fan faces up instead of being co-aligned with case intake fans? 🤔
3:25 smooth af
maybe its worth to spin the first fan as outtake and not intake.. because the GPU air can be exhaust or not ?
This is one sick build! Amazing job
Just a question if i buy this case and use the phanteks t30 fans would it have enough clearance to fit?
I don't think it's a nice looking case, but I hope this will finally kick off the vertical ITX hype train.
We need more choices for this form factor.

CPU and GPU temps are great. Other videos showed that GPU temps got to 80 C. What did you do to achieve good cooling?
Maybe because they use AIO cooler? I might be wrong, but AIO cooler tend to restrict airflow with it's radiator, and since usually the fans for the radiator sets as intake, the heat from the radiator can heats up the interior and possibly effecting GPU too. Case size is secondary to performance.
I tried similar, but with a xfx 7900xtx, the gpu just was hot pretty much all the time, even with the front fans at 70%, it just felt like the air was not escaping the case.

the thing that's keeping me form ITX now is, that GPUs get thiccer every year. I'm afraid it'll get to a point I can't fit one into the case

This man dont miss🤙
For the Noctua, why not remove the graphics card and put it at the end?
Very good video in any case, I'm thinking of doing the same thing!!!
Why using tool for noctua fan instead mounting the fan before case side panel fans ?
"An ITX case that can fit MASSIVE coolers" ...its just a MASSIVE ITX case
You said the cpu is great for single app performance. Is it a good all round pick for example editing?
How is your m.2 nvme not getting completely bent?
hate the IO for the motherboard being on the bottom, also wish it was less restrictive on gpu width given it's size
Silverstone FT03 is still the daddy of these cases 👍🏼😊
Im surprised there isnt a vent at the bottom of the case, maybe 120mm, even a 90mm would be nice.
