12:22 so dramatic to watch “ ...... this Pilot is on a another level and deserves a medal as he safely landed the chopper on time avoiding the frightening lightning!!! (So happy to hear the 8y old vulnerable child was found safely)
Susan Wahl, kind of similar to driving a high performance race car multiple trips around a track with short fast stroke lock to lock and non-power steering!
When I was still a firefighter/medic we had a lady who was definitely drunk and probably high that got hit by car. She had multiple compound fractures of the legs (broken bones sticking out through flesh). She kept trying to get up and moving her legs. It was nasty. Used straps off all the backboards we had plus those on the stretcher trying to hold her down as well as all the broken sections of legs. Don't know if she kept her legs or even survived.
Wow, those lightning effects almost look realistic.. don't think a decent UK program needs to spice up the drama like that. But okay, it's over 15 years old
Adam Atch The pilot’s would be safe because they are not connected to ground. Just like the high tension tower workers working from hovering helicopters. They are touching thousands of volts, but remain safe by not being in contact with earth.
@@MrOGREATWISEONE That's really not how it works. The aircraft has a potential to ground at all times, the question is whether that potential causes current (which means charge..) to flow. Normally, it does not, but a lightning strike is what occurs when the potential between points is high enough to break down the air and cause current flow. If you're touching the wrong things inside that nice perspex bubble, you can absolutely get a shock. You can also get one as a result of the massive magnetic field created by the strike. Such events have caused pilots to become seriously cognitively impaired during flight. You also have the potential for loss of spatial awareness from the light and noise. Lightning is no joke, and it's not as puny as high tension (hah, half a million volts.. call me back in another few hundred million) power lines.
@@MrOGREATWISEONE It may not have fallen from the sky, but it did crash. That video they were watching referenced a Captain Buschmann - that would be Captain Richard Buschmann, PIC of American Airlines Flight 1420 on June 1st, 1999. He's dead. So are 10 of his passengers. Now, they weren't struck by lightning - what they were struck by was pilot error induced by stressful conditions of flying through a dangerous storm. You may dismiss the danger of lightning and thunderstorms, pilots should not.

This show is not real life at all because in real life some criminals get away! All you see on these shows are the cops winning. That's not true to how it happens in real life.
Because air ambulances always need to be able to land and since visibility in reduced its more dangerous for them at night, as for police helicopters its rare they will ever need to land as most of what they do is recon and assisting ground officers from the sky. even though the air ambulances do stop flying at night, the major trauma teams that are carried on them are still in a Rapid Response vehicle to respond to incidents that would normally require the helicopter.
couldnt give a flying fuck about the junkies considering the misery they cause to people around them shame the prison term for them is so small come to the country im now living in you get caught with drugs there is no sympathy but a rather long time in prison and trust me the prisons here are not like the holiday camps back in UK
The Tea board and schedule has to be the most British thing I have ever seen!!!!!
Captain Hale is a great pilot, and has the most beautiful face and smile.
So sorry to see the off-road guy in so much pain, now he knows how the environment he couldn't a toss about feels.
"He's got so many drugs on him, if hes caught he will get done with possession" *Huh*
Get caught with a joint and you can get done for possession
i think he meant to add "possession with intent to supply"
Yeah, this country is pretty stupid

Well done for doing the medi-vac and saving a life. Nice to know the police are using these expensive vehicles for top use.
Watching from Newfoundland, Canada. Keep up the great work!
The concentration in working the two handed controls as well as all of the other Instruments, will sap your strength by the end of the day.

Wait, this show is *how old*
If the helicopter was hit by lightning it would not send an electrical charge through the controls, the chopper is not at ground potential.
Kelvin England but it might electrocute the pilots and why do you think you know more then the trained professionals

The dirt biker was missing some really important safety gear; probably just as well that he gave up riding....

what's is the point of an air ambulance if they stop flying at 9.00 pm that's like oh police close work for the night at 10.00 baffaled big time!

Jack Perry not to forget as well that a lot of the air ambulances aren’t funded by the government and are solely relying on public donations.
