The ambulance service were with me on the hardest day of my life, when I called due to a mental health crisis. Our NHS does so much for us, and I am forever grateful
Call takers and Dispatchers never receive the credit they truly deserve. I for one thank you. They are the lifelines for so many everyday and in unbelievable conditions. Please, don't forget your mental health as you help others. Its ok to get help. Stay safe.
So true 👍 they also have a hard job and deserve recognition. I definitely wouldn't want to do that or a paramedics job. But I have so much respect for them. 🎉
I'm American. So needed badly here. The NHS is a gift, so wish we could put one together in the US, but we have to prioritize our fellow man more first. ❤
@andyjpower1 they can be forced, but our politicians are owned unfortunately, and any real progressive policies that can help the public at large are immediately stamped out by the bought.
My dad was born in Glasgow and talking to him over the years and talking to his cousin over the years, they were always carrying something in their pockets. My mom said when her and my dad used to walk arms around each other she would just put her hand in his pocket to rest it and one day she got poked by something and it cut her and here it was a knife. And that’s in the early 1950s. I think we had a time that we quit doing that stuff but now it’s picked right up again and I think it’s a lot worse.
The main hospitals are worth every penny. It's the local surgeries that need to be investigated and shut down and reopen with all new staff that actually want to help people back to work instead of the opposite.
If you are needle phobic if you have been stabbed your health is more important so just look away and if the paramedics or medical person needs to insert a needle let them and just look away
You can try and explain but sometimes you just need to wait and be ready when the problem "resolves itself" I.e. they're unconcious. The most bizarre patient with "needle phobia" I've ever had was in severe anaphylaxis and refused I.v. access but did agree to adrenalin into the thigh which fyi is also done with a needle. Most often though you can get to an arrangement and do it or give meds in another way.
True phobias are not logical, that’s what makes them a phobia. Phobia: an irrational and illogical fear You don’t just “look away,” it is an anxiety disorder that can be very serious
I used to (still kinda do) have a fear of needles. that fear stemmed from having so many operations and needles for the cannula that my hand scarred where it gets inserted and now I am scared of them but in true autism fashion, theres rules to the fear. I cant look for injections, eyes fully closed for my nose piercings I got, but I can watch a tattoo on me and if im having blood drawn, I cant look when the needle is inserted, but once its in im fine thats because my main trauma with needles came from the time they tried to insert a cannula and failed, so they tried again. and it hurt. and poor 12-13 year old me was so upset. I was already a little bit nervous but now im scared my fear of needles is also a fear of surgery too. to the point I have to have a sedative before surgery prep, because I have panic attacks. fears arent rational. theres no logic to them. if ive been stabbed, id rather be unconscious for any needles. the fear can be so intense, you forget you are hurt and focus more on what youre scared of
Some of the paramedics are wearing a Patch with a Bee on their Right shoulder. What is the meaning of this? (I am Paramedic and Beekeeper so i need to know this)
@@tabbither that isn't right. The Manchester bee symbolizes the hard work ethic of Mancunians and for the city being known as "a hive of industry" The symbol has been around for 150 years, so a lot longer than when the bombing occured.
The ignorance of the woman saying children are born with a clean slate; bipolar & schizophrenia are genetic often.. even describing what’s happening can take years to communicate. It’s saddening that so many don’t even end up diagnosed until they wind up in the prison system.
Same with OCD, ADHD, and ASD. They all have genetic components. ADHD and ASD are literally developmental disorders that you’re born with I have all three, and had symptoms very obviously since birth, but wasn’t diagnosed till my 3rd attempt at 16 in 2021, because “females don’t have autism”
True phobias are not logical, that’s what makes them a phobia. Phobia: an irrational and illogical fear You don’t just stop being afraid, it is an anxiety disorder that can be very serious. Yes, an IV is important and necessary, but as a medic you need to give compassion and try to compromise
Why do they show really interesting calls like the kid being hit by a car from the call center, but then switch to the field with like... paramedics going to an old person who can't get up from their chair? Show the intense and interesting stuff, not old people doing old people stuff!
Either the crews on scene didn’t have cameras/aren’t part of the show, or the people involved didn’t consent to their personal emergencies being put in the show for the world to see
@@motionless_horizon They blur people all the time who don't want to be filmed, don't get why they can't do the same thing. And I'm sure not every single person who has an interesting injury or trauma refuses to be on camera, they just chose not to show it.
Kindness no matter how small it may appear can make the whole world of difference for one person ❤
Those kids who called for the ambulance for there Nan were amazing well done Bradley and Tegan 👏👏👏👏👏
brought me to near tears that
“Alright, love. I’ve been shot”
That is a cool cucumber, holy moly
sexist pigg that is

That’s nice to hear that you were given support. I’m glad.
❤❤❤
Love the paramedics
GPs do F all by the way..Mainly Indian with attitudes and massive cars..My experience
The kids that phoned for their Nan were both amazing honestly
Insanely calm and collected at that age
Agreed. I feel like that would have been me. Just u know, normal situation, not scary at all lol. Probably freaking out a little bit on the inside tho
Superb❣️
That computerized voice in the ambulance makes me laugh every time. "999 mode activated" 😂 its like some James Bond stuff 🤣

The kids doing cpr is amazing. X
It absoluteley breaks my heart to see so many young people struggling with their mental health.
That intro clip of the elderly lady and the gorgeous looking young lad was totally heartwarming and adorable ❤❤❤❤❤
The duck call😂
@29:26 the face that the paramedic is making is hilarious!!
What a night!!
We are so lucky to have the nhs ❤

@Horticarter41 the health companies are making too much money to change now unfortunately
@andyjpower1 they can be forced, but our politicians are owned unfortunately, and any real progressive policies that can help the public at large are immediately stamped out by the bought.
the mindset you must have to do what these first responders do is something out of this world
A 13yr old being stabbed is so sad. He is still so young!
It's sad that more young people are in gangs and carrying knives it's just become a common thing now

Because they cant fight.
@chris-ub8inwe shouldn’t be wanting them to fight anyways, saying this makes no sense at all
Manny and Leeds gone crazy with the gang stuff

“Alright love, I’ve just been shot” proper manc lad

It’s unfortunately not that easy to fob off a true phobia

1K stabbings.... wonder what the stats are now?😢
that old ambulance crew are still pretty realy nice girls .
Our NHS is great the funding they get is a disgrace

Symbol for Manchester and a memorial for those who passed during the bombing there

21st Century British Emergency Services.
I wonder if they walk around and check if their vehicles are in roadway condition?
They call 999 for a clinic visit?
WHY can't they do anything for the (dead) duck??? 😢
Law & Order.
Thank goodness UK economy isn't dependent on human suffering .....

Needle- phobic? Not knife-phobic? He's been st... HURT, ffs.
Looks like his mum made bo effort to make him comfortable enough to take the needle 😮 and explain the situation to him

Phoning an ambulance for a duck, do people not have common sense?
In UK this is called a Tuesday, in China, Westerners call it the collapse of China.

Also, while im here. Please have someone tell the police that no one takes them seriously in a Hyundai lol. Just sayin
dont live in manchester.. tht will help
And if you are 13 it's time to start growing up so get used to needles
get some empathy, who raised you??
@joydarling I have plenty of empathy and I definitely have empathy for the young man having suicidal thoughts
@joydarling my mum and dad of course
@@thomasnewton8997 😞sure
Just because you’re desensitised to needles because your mum and dad were smackheads doesn’t mean everyone else is buddy.
Should the asian paramedics be deported aswell?
I can’t stand to hear that terrible Manchester accent .It’s horrible….And I come from Manchester..The police are the worst.
I get you
I'm a Manc too and cringe when I hear the accent on TV
