This has just trumped most SEMA and pro1 FD builds I've seen. The thought, consideration and engineering which went into it are insane. And the styling is on point !

But the car community is plagued with tribalism and flat out toxic behavior.
People forget that the *owner* spent *his* time, *his* money, and *he* is the one driving the car... You want the car your way? You buy one and you do the same.

I can see both sides of keeping the rotary/ls swapping RX-7 arguments.
Someone who’s spent a lifetime building and tuning v8’s isn’t necessarily going to have the time or inclination to learn all the ins and out of rotaries, the Vargas bros have been at it for years to get to the level they have!

I'm fine with v8 swaps into fc's and fd's, its when you get to fb's that gets me a little confused. Unlike fc's and fd's, a v8 will mess with the weight balance too much and the live-axle isnt the greatest for drift. Plus the fb's are probably gonna start going up in price soon like the 240z's did

I put them in the first layer of clear coat on my model a because my mom was the first person to ride in the car and she loved it. And that was over 20 years ago.
The engineering on this car is insane. People can hate all they want on the LS but this build is next level.

AMAZING BUILD!!!!!!! I love the amazing design/planning/architecture ect. that came together to make this build what it is. Such great motivation, and source of ideas for my personal build. Great inspiration!
But hands down, most memorable feature, and the aspect which got me clacking away on my keyboard in the comment section is the flip down access to the ECM, PDM, and other controllers/components. The mind blown clip was very appropriate. Anyone who's ever spend time back-probing ECM connectors can appreciate how nifty that little trick set up is. LOVE IT! Major props to Andy for an amazing build, and big thanks to Andy and Larry for featuring this vehicle for us all to feast out eyes, and gain inspiration and another great source of ideas.

I know the guys and talk with him a lot...he in fact does sell a lot of the trinkets depicted here. I have his accusump mounts, and roof wing for example...dude is super chill and smart as a tack!

I would not want to own a rotary. I like driving too much to be having to rebuild my engine every f-n time

Everytime he said Solidworks or CNC my engineering bone tingled. This is how I would have done it as well! Except, if I had the cash, get a PDM and remove all those relays, fuses, etc.
This car is the most P E R F E C T little driftcar. There's nothing that beats dedication and creativity
i mean he could always sweep the cold air intake upwards so that it sticks out the hood
23:18 and the mind blown video after is exactly how I felt. He's like a silent assassin. Super mellow guy but the car speaks volumes. Not a fan of the FC or a the LS.. but the build and work that went into the car makes it totally worth loving!

The fastest car I've been in was an 86 rx7 with a 5.0 L mustang engine. He drag raced it at local speedway, but was too fast, and was told he can't race.... It was street legal as well!
Probably was told to go home because he didn't have a cage. Crashing a car at that speed has serious consequences.

@@malachigrey4895 it was only 1/8 mile and he did have a cage. He won everytime, and being a club rather than actual racing circuit or sanctioned event, they didn't like it and asked him not to come back. It was at Western speedway on Vancouver island mid 90's.

Wish we had a decent supply of FC's in the UK but we seemed to get the FB and the FD but bugger all FC's, it's a really rare chassis to find for sale.
"Rip headphone users" lol it's probably WAY louder in person also engines that are this loud are better experienced in person! I like to go to Sonoma's winter jam and sideshows in Sac cause there's just something about engines that calms me down😉

In '86 I bought a new FC Turbo. It was a really great car. I wish I still had it.
This is such a cool build. All of the little details like that backpack strap as the hatch loop are just such interesting things that you wouldn't notice initially. I usually don't like LS swapped RX-7s but this is just too clean to not like.

I love my FC, I'll never swap the rotary out, I will swap a 13bt2 into it soo. But never would I ever think about swapping it.
It kinda hurts me when I see a swapped FC but it also makes me happy that people love FC Rx7s.
I’m an engineer as well. Saw the Lamborghini hexagon pattern on a reventon when they first came out and have been integrating it into my sketches/ designs over the years 🤘🏼

@@andy1200 of course dude this is one of those builds that it's hard to find anything like it near to it's spec, literally a one off. I'm in school for CAD software and use programs like AutoCAD, Solidworks, Civil 3D and revit. I love just going in and designing whatever pops into my head. It's only an associate's degree so I'm trying to find a Bachelor's in a field where I can use my software skills besides engineering.

Love the design all around. If I built a drift car it would be just like this and all for the same reasons. For fun, on my own, for me, how I want it, and cheap as possible yet not shitty at all. Like the fenders and shit. If its gonna break anx isn't motor totally why waist a shit load of money on it when it's going to look the same to the untrained eye or in photos anyways. Even to the cheap paint.

The front fenders are foresight, but the rears aren't, foresight doesn't have the ridge on the back. Those are Tamon design fenders, the ridge extends and matches up with the tamon design bumper.

I’m more tired of cliché builds, same combos same old same old. But I’m definitely all for the unexpected or less saturated builds. Yes everyone ls or 2j swap everything but seeing an fc is pretty sick. Adam LZ and the Berra gt350 is pretty badass too

The MSD 6AL rev limiter is the best rev limiter. I purposely set mine too low (5400rpm) on my V8 specifically so i can hear it more often
when it says "rip headphone users" you have to turn it up to get the best quality of sound
