You probably already know, but you can tap and hold on the map somewhere on the A68 (or wherever) and add it as a waypoint to make the route go that way.
I went through the Dundee roundabouts for the first time in thirteen years last autumn and I hadn't missed them at all. Dungarvan, in County Waterford, is uncannily similar, which is not to its advantage.
Yep - providing the superchargers are in the right location for that to work! But you are absolutely right in that the lower the state of charge when you arrive, the faster the rate of charge
Another great video, Very interesting. PS. Only a suggestion, Ian do you know you have the plastic protection trim around your rear view mirror. It easily comes off to show the frameless intended Rear view mirror. I picked the tip up of UA-cam before I got my Y.
It would be nice to know how much per 100 miles average it is to charge at a super charger per trip. I still can't get my head around kw per mile lolGreat video as always 👍
We can do the maths together! Assume 290 watt hours per mile = 3.45 miles per kilowatt hour Assume 45p per kWh 100 miles needs 29 kilowatts 29 x £0.45 = £13.05 or 13p per mile
Hi Ian, I really love your videos I'm becoming quite a fan these days. There is a slight downside here, that is if you don't have a Tesla your potentially in a let's say more challenging situation for the charging network not to mention their software is no match for Tesla's at this point. I am hoping that common sense will prevail and all manufacturers and government agencies possibly might just get together talk to Elon musk and pay him like the Biden administration I believe is doing and roll out and build factories to produce a Tesla supercharger Network for everyone to use . But I won't hold my breath on it 🤣
Just a note before I watch the rest past the 2 min mark. You can rename Trip B to something like Lifetime if you wish so it says Trip A and Lifetime on your cards.
Nice vid, I get my Model Y in 2 weeks and can’t stop watching UA-cam vids on them! Big issue at the minute seems to be removal of USS and parking assistance. I may be wrong but it looks like your car doesn’t have USS… but at 10mins 20secs you are getting distance measured when reversing at the supercharger, can you confirm please?
Lol - my Go Pro mount was loose so I wrapped string around it to secure it to the headrest. No string any more - took the mount apart and rebuilt it. Well spotted thou!
@@justgetatesla I've watched almost every one of your vids, starting from the oldest. Like you, I do many many kms (30,000km since 1 Oct 22) zipping here there and everywhere - but also some ENORMOUS journeys like 7500km to Cairns and back (mostly without SuperChargers) because they simply don't exist in FNQ (Far North Queensland) and are sparse in the outback. i.e. there is only ONE ! ;-) Anyway, you have got me thinking about doing my own (boring) vids of deserts, kangaroos, and other potential mishaps ;-) Basically the opposite of your nice scenery in Scotland. So, may I ask you many questions re recording, editing etc. as I am an old fart (70) and have no experience? (I have an iPhone and a Mac / iMovie) which I've never used... Regards, Greg.
@@justgetatesla Thanks for your reply Ian, much appreciated. I have a Mac mini, iPhone 13, and a GoPro 3 (that I haven't used for years). I particularly like the image stabilisation. I assume it is the GoPro doing this, not done later with software ?
Thanks for sharing Ian. Regards Michael from Denmark
Thanks for video i always look forward to watching u
Love your videos thanks. Picking our MYLR up on Wednesday next week. Super excited. Coming from M3LR.

Didn't know that! Had tried previously and it didn't work...
@@justgetatesla 27:00 also, here you can just tap on the trip card to shortcut to the full trip screen

Ideally you plan your charging to get as close as possible to around 10% to take advantage on the high charge rate when battery is empty.

Hi Ian, you're making good content. How about a video about yourself; how you ended up in Scotland, your day job, is the car personal/business, etc?
An interesting idea! The Tesla is owned by my company, which has tax benefits. A future video as you say...

The only time i noticed a big range drop in my Kona was in really heavy rain

I believe the V3 Superchargers that you used don't actually split the charge anymore. They can provide both cars the same max 250 kW.
Edinburgh are v3. Washington is v2 so split. I always target v3 where I can

@@justgetatesla ah ok that explains it then! I couldn’t see them on other vids of your car. Thanks for replying.
Add yout hourly rate to the cost of filling up a Tesla hahaha

All done in the GoPro. It has activate image stabilisation
