I can't express how thrilled I am at the job you did on this one. You're right, no show is more awesome, full stop. Thanks for this one, was a true pleasure to watch!
Bellisario is an American TV legend - Magnum, P.I., Airwolf, Quantum Leap, JAG, and NCIS. He also actively casts veterans in his roles. Good episode Mover
i remember watching JAG as a little kid on TV, and that's where I fell in love with the Tomcat, and military aviation in general, even before watching Top Gun. Bellisario is a legend indeed
Donald P. Bellisario's father ran a tavern, where he grew up listening to WWII Veterans war stories. He would later serve in the Marine Corps from 1955 - 1959, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Needs to be redone in a new series.. aka it`s found in a government storage shed stripped down the new owner pilot finds it over a few episodes rebuilds/resurrects it with new tech(hot gas and cold gas** turbos) and put back into active service.. maybe use/combine Knight Rider - Street Hawk as the control/command centres 1 mobile 1 static..... ** cold gas turbos to avoid heat detection...
I lived in Los Angles and worked in film. I met a guy who was an assistant editor on the show. He said they flew Airwolf every day. I'll never forget it.
That lucky sob. Such a forgotten show, that at the time pushed WAY out into what was possible for a TV show. The budget had to be insane. The cost per hour for all the air assets they had man. Including the ones filming it. All those pilots too.
That's like Baa Baa Blacksheep. No matter how horribly corny the acting and writing, the chance to see some video of multiple F4U Corsairs in formation was worth it.
SPOT ON BROTHER!!! I have the black sheep on dvd and had Airwolf in the cart for years. I dreamed of Corsairs, Airwolf, Firefox, and any military aircraft for my entire youth. Put together I don't know how many models. Got me started in aviation.
Something nobody seems to mention is how awesome it was that the helicopter would growl at you randomly as if it was a living creature, barely held in control by the pilot.
It's something that doesn't really get mentioned by video makers. Commenters in comments sections may bring it up from time to time. Something this episode touched on is that the computer is effectively a learning computer, which was then expanded on by the episode Moffett's Ghost. Also, the pilot episode mentions that the computer basically corrects minor pilot errors, and regulates various functions to streamline the crew's effectiveness. The hydraulics hissing in response to Dom, and in one episode engine flame out when he insulted the copter and restarting when he apologized, further gave subtle hints that the computer did in fact have an AI. As with the occasional growls and snarls. I think that perhaps Moffett's intent with things like the growl/snarl was added phycological warfare aspects. Add the line from this very episode where Winchester recounts Moffett saying "Airwolf is a living thing. More than you'd ever know..." further supports this train of thought.
I think that was keeping with the theme of the vehicle being a character by itself in the way Nightrider did. That's what I got from watching Airwolf as a kid. It was this unstoppable mechanical air monster.
What a fantastic piece of machinery. I lived for the start of this show each week and I am a 78 year old female, now living on the side of a volcano in South America. I too still get the chills from hearing the sound track. You did a magnificent job of expressing what I think we all feel.
Man we had a great childhood in the 80s. AirWolf, A-Team, Blue thunder , Street-Hawk, knightRider, dukes of hazard. Saturday evenings were the best !!!!!
Only Airwolf can produce music from just a picture. When you see the head on of her rising from her lair, all you hear is the theme tune. Loved it, thanks Mover
@@trenwilson6613 ooof I forgot about that. But I played it off as she's covering it up. Much like the don't tell anyone I have x and you reply what x even after seeing x yourself
One of the best openings for a TV show. The howling of Airwolf, rising into view at the beginning, still sends chills down my spine. I once held a tape recorder up to the TV so I could record the theme song.
The stunt pilots who flew the lady have said that she was more maneuverable and easier to fly overall due to the cosmetic mods added to it. The low ground fly by and the fast up and downs (push-overs) the lady would do weren’t sped up as fast as you’d think they were. The turbo scenes obviously were but the way they made it look realistic at a time when CGI wasn’t available was jaw dropping.
Think it was more down to the whole back end being stripped out of the copter, all the seating in the back etc made it lose a lot of weight and made it more nimble. The cosmetic mods looked the part but i think the weight loss was the main factor that made it handle better.
Star Wars’ Sound Editor, Sam F. Shaw was brought in especially by Airwolf creator, Don Bellisario to create those signature howls and growls with him in collaboration during pilot and 1st Season.
When I was a kid we moved to L.A. near Van Nuys AP, and I remember meeting the guys who flew on the show. Sat in the Santini Jet Ranger and everything. I was still learning at the time so it was a big deal. Unfortunately they had an ugly crash out in Newhall that killed a stuntman. Another great heli thing to watch... Blue Thunder. The stunt sequence they did downtown, they would never let them do in a million years today. Another good one... Capricorn One. They had some amazing choreographed scenes with two 500s in that. A lot of the same guys worked on all that stuff back then... basically anything with helicopters.
Absolutely 100% agree with you!!! Mover, you really should watch the 1983 movie “Blue Thunder”, the final helicopter duel between Roy Scheider in Blue Thunder and Malcolm McDowell’s urbanely evil Colonel Cochrane in a heavily armed Hughes 500 is just stunning! Amazing stunt pilots, superb cinematography and zero CGI, even the F-16s were models! You could never get away with filming anything like that in today’s ‘woke’ ‘Health and Safety’ and overly litigious world! “Catch you later!” 👉 😉 P.S. wait till you see those F-16s 🤣 The cockpits, controls, instruments, flight kit etc.etc. Oh boy! 😱😂🤣
Blue Thunder (1983) is one of those rare 80s movies that has stood the test of time. The third act where Murphy steals Blue Thunder after Lymangood was killed just smokes, perhaps only bettered by the dressing down that Murphy gets from Capt. Braddock in the first act. And the footage of the police choppers chasing Blue Thunder through the aqueducts, man! That movie is nothing but killer scene after killer scene. The movie loses points for the inane casting of Malcolm McDowell (an upper class Brit as a US Army warrant officer who goes on to become a colonel, really?), but it still has to be one of the most complete aviation films ever.
@@zohrab22 The PD base was the actual LAPD Hooper Heliport, which you can see next to Union Station downtown. When the USMC and Army guys pass through downtown, they'll usually give them a shout on their freq, and maybe a quick orbit. That same building is also the armory. You can often see the air guys over at the Denny's across the street.
+1 for the downtown sequence in the Blue Thunder Movie - Awesome! And also, Capricorn one, which I only came across recently - amazing choreography with a pair of Hughes 500.
I loved Airwolf and watched them every Saturday morning, Favourite episode was "Moffets ghost" I went to a concert at Knebworth in 1990 when a Bell Helicopter was delivering some guests and hovering just to the side of the stage. Full on Airwolf vibes and best of all it was as Status Quo were playing "In The Army Now" Totally awesome.
Oh, the nostalgia. I remember watching this as a kid. Got to love those old boards of blinking lights that serve no purpose except to be blinking lights.
We've all got our switches, lights, and knobs to deal with. I mean, down here there are literally hundreds and thousands of blinking, beeping, and flashing lights, blinking and beeping and flashing - they're *flashing* and they're *beeping.* I can't stand it anymore! They're *blinking* and *beeping* and *flashing!* Why doesn't somebody pull the plug!
I don't know if it was inspired by Airwolf, but when I was a kid in the 80s there was a thing at a JC Penny's or a Foley's or something here in Texas where someone had come up with a wall that had a bunch of blinking lights and switches. So of course you throw a switch and it changes it. Even back then, I always thought that the designer did it as some kind of test, so if you figured it out and got something just right something interesting would happen. In that sense, it's kind of like some of the DEFCON badges of late (pre-pandemic). In fact, with computers being what they are now and such that might be pretty interesting. I'm channeling The Last Starfighter here, I think.
Loved this show as a kid. Think about 10 years or so since I watched it when they re-ran it in the UK. Awesome flying, soundtrack is great and just a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Airwolf is Unruinable to be sure. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
@@paulefc1971 ah cheers for the heads up. I will check out Forces TV as would love to catch up on all those. Dont think I watched Streathawk since I was a kid.
No, they make them much much better ;) I grew up with these shows too and the music still gets me, but holy cow how stupid these shows are. Knight rider, Airwolf, even the A-Team... can't watch it anymore.
@@vanivari359 how dare you mock the A-Team sucka! But in all seriousness it was meant to entertain and not be realistic. These days yes quality is better but series now don't have any character and half are canceled after a few seasons.
To this day, the Airwolf theme song is still my alarm sound on my cell phone. Even though I was a kid when the show came out, I still knew rotor tips can't exceede mach and even if the copter could, it would still only carry about 30 seconds worth of fuel. "FLIR in 1982, well ahead of our time" Now my car has a FLIR display in night mode. lol Comes in handy finding cops sitting in the dark at night and coyotes crossing the road. 11:20 I think I saw that same set in Buck Rogers. 28:30 It's got Jean Bruce Scott!!!
I loved Airwolf as a kid and still love it today. The Bell 222 with the registration N3176S mainly used as Airwolf was sold around 1987 to Germany where it was registered as D-HHSD, and crashed during a HEMS-Mission on 06/06/1992 near Meschede. The Aircraft was destroyed and all people on board were fatally injured 😭
It's based on a book. There's a sequel which continues the story beyond the movie (Firefox Down). Of you ever wondered what happened to Priabin after an American stole the plane on his watch it's not s bad read :) The author wrote a couple of other books featuring some of the characters from the first book but sadly not the aircraft.
Yeah, Firefox came first -- and I think that naming style is what inspired the Airwolf name I did later read Firefox Down and then Winter Hawk, both from the same author Craig Bear, which had the same hero Mitchell Gant
@@s.harrisali8302 Hey don't blame Canada! (lol) No, but seriously, : "The USA Network funded a fourth season in 1987 . . . on a reduced budget that was less than one-third of the original CBS budget" Airwolf- Wikipedia. Plus, he problems in season three were all on CBS and JMV.
Airwolf was a great show for the 3 seasons of Hawk/Dom/Arc Angel, obviously. Your narration was insightful and complimentary because you’re part of the original 1980’s watchers. You understand and appreciate the best aspects of Airwolf, like us, well done.
When you talk about stunt pilots, don’t forget those who are flying the camera ship. In fact, I discovered several years ago that it’s much harder to get insurance for the camera plane than it is for the performers.
The camera ship (usually a Hughes 500 or Jet Ranger) on Airwolf was flown by the late J. David Jones, who also flew the Hughes 500D in this episode (and most of the early episodes). He was the Aerial Co-Ordinator and 2nd Unit Director for 2 years on the show and was the absolute best in the industry, revered by all the young pilots on the show, and the Hollywood pilots of today (two of which, Kevin LaRosa II and Peter McKernan, Jnr are 2nd Generation stunt pilots / Aerial Co-ordinators, and their fathers flew on Airwolf). Peter McKernan, Snr and the then 23yo Peter Jnr both flew Airwolf on the series.
No aviator worth their wings would ever ruin Airwolf. Anything else absolutely, but Airwolf is sacred no matter how goofy and ridiculous it is BECAUSE it is goofy and ridiculous in the best possible way. It is pure and utter childhood wish fulfillment. And somehow still had really good writing (well, mostly). And 40 years later I still can not believe those pilots. They were literal human height off the deck so often. Shots where the gear lowering would have lifted the thing up but they're just hovering. People jumping on. Wobbles. Then screaming banshee turbos. Or the one that chills my spine... that thrusting gentle whine while it's just cruising. Like a corvette. Refined, controlled, but you can hear the power behind it.
The Top Gun references were expected, but that Fire Birds pull at 15:51 made me a fan. This show still gets my heart rate up...glad to know that, even after all this time, SO many people still love Airwolf.
Neither did the story of the movie star Bell helicopter that "played" Airwolf turn out positive either. After it was cancelled, it went back to serve as an air ambulance in Germany, and on June 6 1992, it crashed into a mountain killing all 3 occupants.
I grew up watching this from 5 years old and became hooked since then. Watched every episode S1-3 again and again. The best looking chopper ever created!!!!!
This series was also part of my childhood. The most impressive is, that it's still timeless - you could also replay it at modern times. I really like the sound-effects -> the howling, screeching etc. As i remember it already had flares (called sunbursts?). Amazing - 10/10 star series !
_"The sole reason that I am a helicopter pilot"_ at heart (I've never taken 'hold of an actual cyclic or, collective)... is the same. I live vicariously. And, for reasons unknown to me - _"Huey"_ was my 'sole-mate', of choppers... love that _'purr and whomp'_ (sorry)
My dad introduced me to Airwolf when I was a kid in the early 90's. Grew up catching the last 30 minutes if Airwolf, and the first 30 minutes of MacGyver each morning before school xD. As time passed I got to follow MacGyver as he pretended to be Colonel Jack O'Neill on Stargate SG1 hehe.
Nailed it!!! Airwolf will always be the most beautiful flying machine ever in my book. The pilots even said it flew better with the body modifications added. That slalom was awesome!!!
As a kid on roadtrips Airwolf would fly alongside the car dodging everything out side window & I would send him off on missions cos I was part of the team. Parents never suspected a thing, I was excellent secret agent.
Thank you so much for covering this!! I, too, was an 80's child and I cut plenty of teeth on the 80's TV shows. Airwolf was one of my faves. So glad that fellow 80's kids still love a show that I hold near a dear. It's sad what happened to Jan... and Earnest was terrific. The whole cast worked well together. It was a show that was epic and could have only been made when it was made. We were all fortunate to be able to enjoy it when we did. Thank you again.
When you look back at this show you really start to realize how much footage actually they reused SO OFTEN and also how they moved the camera to make the helicopter appear to make a loop, which was actually the camera making a loop. And usually weapon deployment did seldom match up with the follow up view of the helicopter. In that regard they did it 'perfect' in the pilot episode "Sweet Britches" of season 2.
Since "Sweet Britches" was the premiere of Season 2, they gave the viewers lots of eye candy; the new Flight Suits, a new Startup Sequence in The Lair with the reveal of Ancient Puebloan ruins built into the interior walls, and the ending with String gunning everything in sight. Plus, the introduction of one Caitlin O'Shannessey.
I also am a big fan of Airwolf. Watched each episode many times back then and still watch a random one once every couple of weeks or so. One of my favorite partial episodes I watch is season 2, episode 1, where Caitlin was first introduced, that last 10 minutes or so where String takes Airwolf to the town and kicks butt against the crooked sheriff and his gang. Gets the old blood a pumping. There are a couple of UA-cam videos by various people that have the long version of opening credits, one even in stereo that I listen and watch a lot too. Bought the DVD's when they were first released and within the last month bought the Blu-ray release. I had even checked into learning to fly a helicopter back then but the nearest place to learn was too far from my hometown. Thanks for your review and nice to know there is someone else that liked it too.
Just so you know, we redheads do have souls. Each of our freckles marks a soul we have obtained for our collection. As for no one aiming in the 80s, aiming is an advanced military tactic that wasn't invented until 1994.
@ Kate Nunyabizness You may not have a soul of your own, but you *DO* have a great sense of humor! I tip my hat to you m'lady! 🤠🤏 #RedheadAreAwesome 👩🦰
You can actually find multiple police actions where the cop shot the bad guys from the hip. An inordinate amount of Mini-14's appear in these police actions lol.
This TV network hit a homerun with this series. We boys loved everything about this helicopter, all that technology firepower and explosions. The girls simply loved Jan-Michel Vincent. Win win for everyone.
Airwolf was my favorite show of the 80''s! The pilot was in 84. Moffets ghost was my favorite episode. And I have that same shirt brother! Ty for your service! ❤️
Serious respect C. W Lemoine for not ruining it, it can’t be ruined 👌👏👍 I also loved the show, the Airwolf itself is awesome. If only it was possible 🤞
Man, how much that resonates with me. Yes, it's fictious, some liberty taken to "bend physics", but for a child it was just awesome. Got myself the DVD box a while ago and this brings back so many positive memories. You have to love the effort they put into this, back when CGI wasn't a thing.😍
My favorite episode was Season 2 Episode 1 where Caitlin is introduced. I mean. Her flying the 500 was pretty awesome in of itself. But the end had some real ballsy flying in it too. Hovering only a few feet with gear up. And more explosions of course.
Loved this review as was my favourite TV show ever, hence my online handle. It was the most expensive tv show at the time, the only way they could remake this would be with CGI and it would not look as authentic. Real shame that the original Airwolf crashed and is no longer around to perform at airshows, would be great to see it in person.
I think my favorite episode is the one titled "Sweet Britches." There's a great scene though, that I think was in the first episode of season 2, where String and Dominic made a detailed inspection before powering up and taking off. Naturally they didn't show that each time, but it was nice to know that the Producers were willing to give a nod to the mechanics that kept that helicopter flying. It's also worth noting that those chain gun props when they were attached, had to be airworthy and meet FAA standards.
This show is what I looked forward to every Saturday as a kid. Cartoons, Knight Rider, the A-team…they were ok, but Airwolf was most definitely my jam.
Third time watching this in almost as many years. Honestly don't remember seeing this episode in the 80's but that part after they 'go cold' and the music kicks in brings back everything that my need for nostalgia is looking for. Awesome Ruins Movies video to see the genuine appreciation from Mover. Just awesome.
Yes, but the newer Bell 450 is even better with 4 bladed main rotors, modern updated avionics and less smokey engines. It looks the same as the older 222.
This is so nostalgic for me, I used to watch this show with my dad as a kid. Something about that nostalgia factor really does makes this show perfect in my mind. I even got my wife into it when we were dating.
Yes!!! This was back during the Super-Vehicle Era. Knight Rider, Airwolf, StreetHawk and Firefox. Firefox should be the subject of a Mover Ruins Movies episode in the future.
I remember the theme song like the back of my hand. When I was a young’un I remember recalling it as I accelerated my family’s Pontiac Grand Safari with a 455 up the hills of Leechburg, PA. Seriously good times.
"They love their Hughes 500s. And they love to blow up their Hughes 500." Yup, short and concise summary of every Airwolf episode :) This show was awesome. Knight Rider in the air, with Ernest Borgnine doing the talking.
Just hearing that theme song made my whole day. Airwolf, Knight Rider, A-Team, Dukes of Hazzard....what a time. Also, I doubt there is any way they could make that show today, everything would be janky CGI rather than an actual helicopter.
LMFAO!!! Mover : "Back in the 80s, when people used to "pay" for things.... inflation wasn't so bad" This was also my favourite show growing up, thanks for the review and I'm sorry we ruined season 4 ;p
I remember watching the mini movie/ep1 when it came out, i loved it so much and it was so well made for a pilot. They continued to use shots from the pilot right the way through all the series which is pretty funny. Jan Michael Vincent was epic as well, a kind of tortured soul who played a guy with a tortured soul so well.
Yes! The Airwolf pilot was actually brilliant drama. The version of it that was released to VHS was even better as the TV pilot had been edited for a family audience.
It's so cool that they actually used the set piece cockpits used for the internal shots as props for an episode. Even the rear projection they used , so cool! I love the old way of film making. And I heard that the majority for fliers in 80s chopper shows (there were a lot: Magnum, Air wolf, Blue Thunder, the one with that pink ugly thing) were a handful of pilots all former combat/airforce pilots. A nice gig for sure! And I love the keyboard of the commodore PET she has in the suitcase!
Not only have I always loved this show, it also led to my Flight Simmer callsign. I was trying to fly a Helo is FSX and not doing very well. A friend was watching and his comment was "Way to go, Airwolf".
Bell 222, not b, and yes Aerial Co-Ordinator and chief pilot, J. David Jones got out of it after the test flight and said it was more stable with the body parts than a standard triple deuce.
One of my favorite shows growing up. You definitely have to appreciate the stunt pilot flying that beautiful machine hovering 4ft off the ground with gear up. That is balls of steel. They burned up a lotta propane and used up a few ngk spark plugs to get those 30mm cannons to fire lol. Still cool I don't care what anyone says
I love that understanding between Stringfellow and the guy at the end. Hes a scientist. He flew the only way he could. But he is a damn good pilot as he showed. Giving him the real stick like that... major respect and giving him that dream. Man... tears from this show. Must have felt good to sit in and feel the Lady fly through the stick.
This was an absolutely fantastic commentary about one of my favourite TV shows - and episodes - of Airwolf! I was half expecting for you to rip shreds out of it but, lo and behold, you're a fellow fan! It kept me enthralled all the way through and I am in no doubt as to your appreciation for such an awesome TV show! Thanks for this. Loved it! 😊
Thank you for sharing. Airwolf is my childhood favorite also no matter how old this tv series is... it never fails to take my breath away specially when it's flying and taking the air climb sommersault. The music theme is definitely unstoppable. Kudos to your channel!
This show was a staple when I was growing up, to the point I learned what a Bell 222 was before I could ID almost any other aircraft. Downhill from there. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, and you're correct: Airwolf is infallible. P.S. Making the Airwolf "screech" while riding our rad BMX bikes was mandatory.
As an Air Force mechanic for close to 40 years, the show was highly made-up, BUT WHO CARED...IT WAS FUN TO IMAGINE! Word is, that the addition of the landing gear/weapons pod sponsons made the helicopter much easier to fly, handle and maneuver. As many of Donald Bellisario's series involved some form of aviation, his shows were always enjoyable.
That slow rise up out of the trees and move in front of the limo to settle down like that... that was not only briliant flying but writing. That was a predator laying in wait for another predator. Revealing itself gracefully, moving with ease, showing its power and lack of concern. This all hits so different as an adult.
Awesome! Thank you for not ruining this. Airwolf has always been my dream girl. I fly it in X-Plane 11 (I modded it to be as "screen" accurate as possible). Amazing show. I do wish they would do a new series of it but doubt that anyone would get it right.

Donald P. Bellisario's father ran a tavern, where he grew up listening to WWII Veterans war stories. He would later serve in the Marine Corps from 1955 - 1959, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Between Bellisario and Stephen J. Cannell, those 2 producers ruled the 80's

I lived in Los Angles and worked in film. I met a guy who was an assistant editor on the show. He said they flew Airwolf every day. I'll never forget it.
There is a shot of it a demo in the states and you see Jan Michael Vincent is the pilot for real...

Something nobody seems to mention is how awesome it was that the helicopter would growl at you randomly as if it was a living creature, barely held in control by the pilot.
I mentioned it
It's something that doesn't really get mentioned by video makers.
@@vladyvhv9579 If you were the baddie then you would honestly shit your pants when the lady growled at you.
Its rare that a show can make an inanimate object a living participating character. The Expanse did it. Airwolf did it. Seaquest did it a bit.
What a fantastic piece of machinery. I lived for the start of this show each week and I am a 78 year old female, now living on the side of a volcano in South America. I too still get the chills from hearing the sound track. You did a magnificent job of expressing what I think we all feel.
The great testament to this show is that today, 4 decades later, you can still easily find a RC version of Airwolf. I love this.

@@gerv55 Everyone knows a cool spoiler and sick paintjob adds at least 100 hp to a car. Clearly this applies to flying machines as well.

Envious as Hell 👍
Absolutely 100% agree with you!!! Mover, you really should watch the 1983 movie “Blue Thunder”, the final helicopter duel between Roy Scheider in Blue Thunder and Malcolm McDowell’s urbanely evil Colonel Cochrane in a heavily armed Hughes 500 is just stunning! Amazing stunt pilots, superb cinematography and zero CGI, even the F-16s were models! You could never get away with filming anything like that in today’s ‘woke’ ‘Health and Safety’ and overly litigious world!
“Catch you later!” 👉 😉
P.S. wait till you see those F-16s 🤣 The cockpits, controls, instruments, flight kit etc.etc. Oh boy!
You can often see the air guys over at the Denny's across the street.
+1 for the downtown sequence in the Blue Thunder Movie - Awesome! And also, Capricorn one, which I only came across recently - amazing choreography with a pair of Hughes 500.

I don't know if it was inspired by Airwolf, but when I was a kid in the 80s there was a thing at a JC Penny's or a Foley's or something here in Texas where someone had come up with a wall that had a bunch of blinking lights and switches. So of course you throw a switch and it changes it.
Yeah those post-Vietnam chopper pilots were insane for Hollywood and TV. Tons of amazing stunts in the shows back then
The camera ship (usually a Hughes 500 or Jet Ranger) on Airwolf was flown by the late J.
I was about to lose it at you ruining Airwolf and then I saw you hold it in the same childhood reverence as I do. ❤
Jan-Michael Vincent’s story isn’t so positive, but Airwolf - loved it.
Yeah its a shame
Alex Cord (RIP him, as well) said just after JMV's death that he hoped the Lord would have mercy on his soul.
Neither did the story of the movie star Bell helicopter that "played" Airwolf turn out positive either.
After it was cancelled, it went back to serve as an air ambulance in Germany, and on June 6 1992, it crashed into a mountain killing all 3 occupants.
He looked drunk when he got out of the simulator.
Jan Michael was perfectly cast, at least in Season 1. A brilliant man with a defective personality that kept him from truly being happy.

Oh yeah, even the most moronic tyke knows that the "loop" is camera trick-fuckery, not an actual maneuver.

Don't care. Looked good to my eight year old eyes. I don't want to pick it apart for all the minor details.
I hated the original southern-fried loudmouth version of Caitlin. Later on, as her character mellowed, she was more likeable.
This show is what I looked forward to every Saturday as a kid. Cartoons, Knight Rider, the A-team…they were ok, but Airwolf was most definitely my jam.

My brother and I use to hum the theme song on our way to school back in the day. Loved every minute of it!!
Finally you did the “Airwolf ruins Movers assessments”, the best episode ever!
Mover: "Surely you can't be serious..."
Me: "I'm serious, and don't call me Shirley... that's not my call sign"
Hahaha that movie was awesome...... "What's our Vector, Victor?"
@@JazzJaRa When my 12 year old son saw the part where the Sh*t hits the fan he literally rolled out of his chair laughing.
Not only have I always loved this show, it also led to my Flight Simmer callsign. I was trying to fly a Helo is FSX and not doing very well. A friend was watching and his comment was "Way to go, Airwolf".
You’re the original Airwolf🫵🏻
Something that amuses me is that according to what I read some time ago, the Bell 222b actually flew better with the bodykit, despite the weight
Loved it! 😊
I love this show when was growing up, broke my heart to find out the real airwolf crashed trying to save lives the "Lady" was amazing to the end.
Also the BMX helmets they wore lol
Hell yes! Airwolf Rocked! Between Airwolf, Knight Rider, and the A-Team, the 80's were just awesomeness drip fed 1 episode at a time.
don't forget riptide. the other cool helicopter movie.
When the visor comes down you know shits about to get real!
I'm 52 years old and still love AirWolf. Though it looks more like a shark, AirShark just doesn't sound right. Lol.
I think they kind of imitated the naming convention style of Firefox (Clint Eastwood movie which came earlier)
That slow rise up out of the trees and move in front of the limo to settle down like that... that was not only briliant flying but writing. That was a predator laying in wait for another predator. Revealing itself gracefully, moving with ease, showing its power and lack of concern. This all hits so different as an adult.
I can see why Mover wanted to get helicopter license
Awesome! Thank you for not ruining this. Airwolf has always been my dream girl. I fly it in X-Plane 11 (I modded it to be as "screen" accurate as possible). Amazing show. I do wish they would do a new series of it but doubt that anyone would get it right.
I sure did enjoyed this episode of Mover Ruins Moves. Airwolf was one of my favorite shows as a kid, knight rider was the other one. Thank you for taking us back in time to enjoy one more time one the greatest tv show we had back in the day!
Always thought Mover has a Stringfellow vibe going. And Lester is Dom for sure :D
At least, C.W. is way more stable...
