Needs more monitors of wildly different sizes to be complete.
In all fairness, I did initially they were all different sizes. I was pretty disappointed when I realised they were all 22 inch. 😂
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I have a 19 inch monitor and a 26inch monitor with thicc boarders
And mismatched resolutions and aspect ratios!
needs more CRT
And then make Jay react to it
I love it when the crosshair is spread over a 2-inch gap :'D makes for such an epic challenge
hi anna! 👋
its the "gaming through prison bars" experience lol
It's like the most extreme version of the Screen Door Effect.
Is it really 2 inches??
More like 8
I remember the time i did a multi monitor setup on my grandpas Windows XP desktop and all the games ran at 15fps yet i still enjoyed myself
Those times…
Now I get a headache while trying to play at 60 fps
I found there is something about multi display setups that mean the low FPS doesn’t bother me that much.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff it's called settling Dawid
@@iosuamuresan3935 When 120fps wasnt so necessary for gaming
sounds like a card for 2D use like video surveillance or system monitoring, which is probably a decent way to sell off buckets of otherwise useless ancient GPU chips
that's how I sell so many 550 tis
Oh for sure! It’s good that these GPU still have a use though. At least their not in a dump somewhere.
Either that, or for coders or designers that can benefit from the multiple monitors for managing multiple tasks.
@@AceMcCrank finnaly, a use for the shit ton of sub 10$ vga monitors my local thrift store has
Yes, there is probably a lot of older equipment out that is controlled with a PC and uses, for example, 4:3 CRTs. Medical, industrial or other specialist stuff can be pretty expensive to replace and it is kind of a shame to replace fully functional gear just because something on the PC died and getting parts is getting too difficult.
"It makes me feel a little bit like I'm a bee that's taken acid" --- Dawid, immediately selling his audience on the premise
imagine if he had used an rtx 3080 would have handle all those monitor's
Dawid actually bought that card when it was brand new and it's just now getting to him. Crazy how he bought it for a video years before he even became a successful UA-camr. Playing the long game, Dawid. Well done.
I knew one day it would come in handy. 😂
@@DawidDoesTechStuff it gave you a handy??!!!?? Hahaha
This is why I'm saving my pcie sata adapter
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I can't wait to see the stuff you've ordered lately!
Sucks I'll have to wait a couple more years to see it :)
Maybe by then we'll be able to afford an old, second hand 3080 for $2000

The perfect card to run a 6 monitor CRT setup XD
That's exactly what I was thinking

@@izzieb but its a different kinda pain the whole shock thing i understand but being brutally bludgeoned by a crt that weighs as much as a large child i think is another thing
That’s true! I can imagine it would be fun trying to mount a CRT on the second row.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff One does not simply mount a CRT on a vesa stand. Pretty much the only thing that can support a CRT is another CRT.
Too many UA-camrs review the nicest, fanciest and most expensive stuff.
I've always loved that you do the opposite. It makes for a MUCH more entertaining video.
Love seeing you explode on UA-cam!
I wonder how well it would work if he got two of those gpu's and had each run 3 of the monitors
blud said a 12400f is bad lol i have a 10400f
This is strangely amazing. Thanks, dude.
The monitors all being different models is kinda triggering though. Thanks for that too!
Haha!! Yeah all the different colour hues was really weird to behold. 😂
You should see my computer lab at school you won't ever find two identical monitors next to each other
to avoid bezels in the center of view, you need to go 9 monitors!
don't you hate it when your 6 monitor arm is upside down?🤣
yeah makes sense i agree and sitting just 1 meter away from the monitors

That’s very kind of you to say. 😁

To be honest, I kinda see this card not being that useless. I might see this being used in some industrial environment, or being a nice little surveillance multi-cam setup.
True
Probably it's original intended use.
These cards are used for presentaitions with big monitor walls on exhibitions.
Useful for day trading.
There's GN Steve mumbling Linode, and then there's Dawid bathing us in his velvety Linooooooddde.
Reminds me a lot of the setup I had at my workplace back when I worked overnight security. Having that many monitors felt pretty badass, even if they *were* old and mismatched
well just buy yourself a few more monitors and get it setup and you can live that life once again🤣
This setup should've been co-sponsored by your local chiropractor & optician 😄 Surely you could've employed your trusty Vileda.
😂
When i started following Dawid he had like 10k subscribers now he's almost at a half million. Still he makes content as he was doing many many years ago, testing crappy cheap stuff. Man i love this content, so stupid but so good!
goes to show he knows how to make great content to watch!
Hey man love the channel. Keep doing videos. It may feel like you cant keep up with the mainstream youtubers, but you are complimenting the Tech scene perfectly. Keep it up.
He is a mainstream UA-camr what the hell are you talking about lmfao 😂😂
Tangentially this video helped me so much! I recently needed to get a cheap monitor for my kids and this video helped remind me to check discount electronic stores!
Goodwill and thrift stores are also good places to check out. Me and one of my friends are both poor af but are still running multi monitor set ups thanks to $5-9 Goodwill monitors. They're all VGA so we also needed to get adapters but they're cheap ($5 HDMI to VGA and $7 DVI to VGA) at Walmart and our local store keeps them in stock.
I’m glad to hear that! Those places are super useful.
1080p monitors have come WAY down in price, hell a cheap 1080p TV with an HDMI, depending on how old your kids are. But for sure you can find something at Goodwill for 30ish dollars.
Its so much sweeter that the "Life's Good" logo is your crosshair in FPS's, very fitting
You should give this to a computer repair warehouse so someone can actually get use from this abomination. 🤣
oh crap it's upside down that was hilarious🤣😂🤣
I'm thoroughly shocked! I was for certain thinking that you would've had like 2 to 3 dead VGA ports or if the card would actually even work at all. But I'll be damned, the darn thing works better than expected! Great work setting it all up!
meh it can handle it she's a beast of a gpu when you really want to push her like that🤣
Ahhhh...the return of Linode. Hearing Dawid say Linode is like chicken soup for my soul
could be worse could be 6 monitors on a gt 210🤣
There was absolutely no need for this but Dawid delivered anyway lmao
Running GTA at DX10 would've netted you a noticeable performance boost as it frees up a lot of VRAM and is also generally less intensive. It probably also helps that grass is literally non-existent with DX10 😂. It's just a green floor.
it's like I'm a bee that has taken acid🤣🤣🤣
I’m disappointed that you didn’t find an old copy of Solitaire to have the cards bounce a ridiculous distance, always wondered if there’s a maximum screen resolution this works on.
Oh my… I feel like we have to rebuild the monitor set-up just to test this out.
spoiler Solitaire would run with higher fps then GTA-V
I used to run a triple monitor setup with 900p monitors and loved it. When I finally upgraded, I went for an 48” OLED TV, it has all the immersion for games and you can still multitask with Powertoys FancyZones, but without the bezels.
Can just imagine some super chad somewhere with this setup 2 inches away from the screen[s] corner camping in every FPS
I watch the entire Linode commercial, just to hear Dawid say "Linode".. thank you Dawid.
Dawid, this was a very cool and interesting video. Ya see, THIS is why we love you bro. I never miss a video you post, good sir!
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😃
Thanks for digging into the chips used for the VGA adaption. That was cool.
This is the greatest and most original idea I've ever seen
For someone running triple monitor setups for ages I can tell you that I really enjoyed this video! As it turned out, using similar displays helps a lot.
Btw, to get the rest of the LG´s stand off, you have to take the whole rear cover off - which in addition to its screws has around 4.2 billion plastic tabs and clips.
Love me some Vivo monitor arms. Easily best bang for the buck. Using 2 right now for my setup, but I've used a handful of them over the years, never had issues with them
Our school still has those vga ports on every pc/monitor/laptop. The worst thing is that the screens are 1:1 aspect ratio 🤣
No way! 1:1 is properly retro.
I'm pretty sure they are 5:4 (1280x1024) because that was really common for 17" and 19" monitors in the 00s. 1:1 monitors are quite rare.
Even though 5:4 and 4:3 monitors might look a bit like a square in reality they aren't anywhere near 1:1
@@Pasi123 you are probably right.
What do they run ? Windows 2000 ?
@@Gatorade69 they run a linux with our schools crappy skin 😅
Worst os ever.
Epic. I need that. definitely for school…
The split crosshairs, BEZELS, and multiple VGA octopus gives me so much pain not even a good "Linoooodddee" can soothe it.
Got 3x Dell S2721DGFA, love it. Took days to match the colors though, same with the 3x BenQs before it. Every time I get ips multi-screens I end up purchasing 1 too many to return 1 that can't be saved, a nasty hue or some other artifact. On TN the worst I got is a dead pixel
I thought that looked like one of our mounts in the thumbnail! We're glad it worked to get your setup together for the video!
Gaming on 6-monitors is questionable as you've found, but this type of setup can work very well for power-user workstations or security camera setups.
Thank you Dawid for answering the questions no one has ever asked.
I had a 2 screen setup in like 2005 but the Dell monitors had bezels so wide it was just a big black bar in the middle
Would you be able to use another video card to drive graphics and just output through that card? I may be wrong but I think it could be done in windows
You know when you need somehting but didn't know until you get it? That was this video for me right now. OMG Franklin's flippin head had me dieing lol
Dawid literally has the most entertaining tech content
The GCN cards in general run quite well. I have a simlar R7 360 running inmy HTPC and it has no problems with anything I put to it. Using a n Athlon II X4 640 w 8 GB DDR1600 and a bunch of local drives for storage. The card runs about 40C and the CPU runs about 30C so neither is heat producing oven.
I'm triggered by the port "spines" along the Triceratops' back. Can't you just have used a Stegosaurus like everyone else, Dawid?!
Love how the wanted rating is all on its own in the upper right corner monitor :)
Man, just keep buying monitors and monitor-arms, and a couple more R7 350's, and you could probably create a VR setup *inside* it...
I did some quick research, and to make it short, it seems that the card's use is for camera monitoring for security booths
Amazing setup 🤣 Thanks for the laughs, Dawid!
Quick note, that graphics card can be useful to other activities such as surveillance, when you wanna hook up multiple screens on a budget.
More monitor outputs = more betterer
Therefore this videocard is better than a 3090
I suffered that horrible six monitor Amazon stand for a month before I dumped it in favour of 3 separate dual monitor cantilever stands. I've always wondered what it would be like to have all 6 monitors connected to 1 pc, now thanks to you I know I'm not missing anything.
You come up with some of the wackiest shit. I love it. Another great video filled with snark and humor. Pretty impressed with that graphics card, didn't think it would even handle 3 monitors, let alone 6.
I could see this being useful for driving interactive menus in restaurants and etc...
Already just by looking at that thumbnail, you should have used 9 monitors, its the same way you use 3 instead of 2 to have only 1 monitor as the centre unit
But the card only has 6 outputs
@@darrenfalconer3267 usb graphics adapters.
@@Mills_Official yeah but the point was the graphics card
@@darrenfalconer3267 yeah I know but my point was I said “just by looking at the thumbnail” meaning I knew 6 monitors wouldn’t be ideal

Your humour is just the best. And watching that i5 run completely idle when playing Dirt Rally was the icing on the cake.
Franklin, became Rayman in this.
Hilarious 🤣
Lol my first multiscreen setup was with CRT's, think I had 3 NEC multisyncs 19" which were thrown away at a company I interned at. Just getting them home was a chore... Then I needed to reinforce my Ikea desk... Also luckily I had a 80cm deep desk and it was off the wall a bit so I had more space left then I first thought. However driving these screens was a whole different story. I can't exactly recall what GPU's I had but gaming was limited to just 2 back then. Windows desktop worked fine. Now I got 27"+34"+27" Samsung screens and I love it. RPG's are amazing however the switching around with the Nvidia screen stuff is annoying though.
Here's an idea: You can game on the bottom monitor and use the rest for surveillance!
6:22 that hp monitor is the same monitor im using as my secondary monitor and i understand your point completely.
I'm actually honestly impressed and I actually kind of want this. Not as my main setup, but to just have somewhere in the corner, that way when people come over they can think I'm some kind of government agent or something haha.
I still remember it being a big deal when I got my first monitor with HDMI
I must be really motion sensitive. I got a little sick just looking at the three monitor stage of the setup. I used to think it was bad looking at VR stuff or recordings of VR stuff, but I might just be really screwed in such things as multi-monitor setups.
Dawid, please, turn on frametime graph in msi afterburner for your tests! I think it would be really nice to see whether these games are stuttering or not, especially with a single ram stick pcs.
Nice video showing setup multiple 6 monitors with old school style. I remember couple years a go Asus release a GT730 with a 4x port HDMI, a good value GPU for 4 monitor setup.
I have 2 PC with dual monitor setup, the big one in landscape mode, the little one in portrait mode, a good setup for me, can do a mutitask appl.
A lot my friend dont understand how to setup 2-3 monitor with 1 PC, and asking me how to do it. I know to setup multiple monitor since WinXP with a CRT Monitor, now with Windows 10-11, is more easy than before,
When Dawid was knocking that Vivo monitor stand I glanced over at my setup and sighed heavily at my Vivo twin monitor stand thats barely holding onto my 2 Alienware 24" monitors
10:05 I'm sitting here lmao the way you call that piece a "dangler"
I pulled off 6 monitors on my 5700xt, works pretty decent and they were all 1080p of the same era from goodwill
You need to do this with a NVS 810 it has 8 mini-DP outputs and it has twice the vram so it might be usable
Wasn't there an option for image offset so the whole thing isn't split between the bezels but "hides" behind them? I know Nvidia does have such thing
Now please give us VR on this!
I had to pause the video to tell you that this might be one of the most creative ideas for a video I have seen. Well done.
4:54 I blame the display port to Mesozoic Era converter. VGA still looks crystal clear on my old 1366x768 Vizio TV from 2011.
And here I thought when I got a gpu that supported 3 monitors at an old job, that I was special
Like a cool breeze blowing in during a blazing summer day, Dawid has delivered me relief with abother satisfying LINODE fix!! Keep fighting the good fight!
It's the perfect card for stock traders or movie-level hackers.

I feel like this card was created to update and old VGA security system. That being said I think the video is great. I would love to see it being used as a cheap programming set up.
we took 6 identicle panels and removed the plastic shell and created a holder for them out of wood so we could make 1 big 6 panel display, you could barely make out the lines if you blurred your eyes. i didnt get to keep it cause obvious reasons but i heard its still being used at the jobsite.
Dawids way of just pushing low-end graphic cards to their knees inspired me to install Rocket League on my school laptop with internal graphics.. Thanks Dawid for making me even more unproductive at school!

I'm not a tech head and i almost never write comments nonetheless i want to say how i really like your content.
The intro and the editing is never over the top and your chill persona is so refreshing in this day and age
I imagine this thing was intended mostly for office use - makes sense to have multiple worksheets and documents open all at once on different monitors. Not so much for spanning what should be a single screen, like in a game.....
That monitor setup looks like something out of a dystopian space movie.
When Dawid said he never wanted to use an ancient port but then turns up with a gpu full of them

Gotta love those "wait a minute" moments...upside down
My grandmother has that HP monitor on the left that you said is terrible. It is pretty terrible 6:19
I remember the days when Matrox's selling point was that it offered 3 video outs instead of 2 like everyone else! Man, but this one takes the cake. This is definitely used for the specialized use case of a single DVR to output to 6 surveillance TVs or perhaps even 6 digital signage displays where it really doesn't matter how sharp the image is. Thanks for sharing and going into all the trouble of actually building a multimonitor setup to try gaming on this. XD
*Weird and Expensive R7 350:* Exists
*Dawid:* "Come to daddy..."
On a single 1080p monitor it actually ran better than I expected.
I cannot get enough of your videos.
Your consistency with the music you use, the format, it's such a pleasant viewing experience.
Some comments.
Because of the way the camera projection works in FPS games, it expects to draw to a single flat surface. Doing so makes the FOV at the extreme edges look stretched. Curving the monitors (as you did there) exascerbates the problem. NVidia were touting a "Multi-projection" system that would map the virtual cameras to match the IRL screens, but it never went anywhere.
Also, one of Eyefinity's Top Tricks was running in 5x1 - That is 5 monitors in portrait mode, all side-by-side, which means you'd get a 5400x1920 display.
And yes, running an even number of screens in any direction is a bad idea as the center gets chopped by bezels. I know Matrox and NVidia had "Bezel Compensation" that would render (and hide) the space behind the bezels for a more even and straight display, but that had the disadvantage of hiding the pixels that are in the gaps, like looking through window panes.
13:14 bees are actually quite resistant to acid, I mean beekeepers basicly pour acid over them in order to kill the varroa mite and prevent it from killing the bees
I feel like this would probably work great if you have a load of system RAM, and enough threads to do 'background' applications full screen, then just dedicate one of the monitors for the game you are playing.
for instance, minecraft on one monitor, the wiki for minecraft on another, a youtube video of a lets'play of minecraft running off of internal graphics, and then you've still got 3 monitors for 'that book you were writing', the excel spreadsheet your boss wanted you to edit and a Database/web browser.
otherwise known as the traditional EVE online set up. I have once heard the phrase, "what you don't have 6 monitors laying around you could use?" when I was talking to a EVE player IRL.
I feel like this is probably not for gaming, but rather for giant outdoor commercial screens made up of multiple smaller screens.
I like how a few days ago I was in your Discord asking about how to get more display outs so I could run a multi monitor setup with a bunch of cheap VGA monitors and now you've posted this. Really it seems like every time I have an idea for something for me to do seriously because I'm poor, a few days later you're posting a video of you doing it ironically because it'd be funny (it also happened with you gutting the Optiplex case for modern hardware except I'm putting a 5700G systen in mine as soon as I stop being lazy) and I fucking love it because it helps me figure out how to get my idea to work or if they'd even work at all without me having to spend money on shit that won't work.
video idea: using 6 usb to vga(or any other port) adapters to game
