I recall Biden saying in Mar 2022 - "Ensure that Russia is never again able to invade its neighbors". And I think this is still the objective, to hollow out the Russian state militarily, and economically so that its society realises that Putin and his imperial ambitions have to go.
Unfortunately for Ukraine this is being done very slowly.
I've been saying this for a while. I have to completely agree with you. This is a win win win for the US. They get to test their weapons against a modern military for the first time since world war 2. Not only that, its against their biggest classic rival. Its boosting American economy with more jobs pouring into the military industrial complex. And getting rid of a lot of their old stockpiles that they would have had to pay to get rid of. Now they're getting dropped on their rival basically for free. And to top all this off. This is destroying Russia's economy, military, and general world standing. Without costing American lives. Unfortunately that means they're willing to sacrifice Ukrainian ones to do it
Way too slowly to the point of almost not being done at all.
Have you seen the state of Russia? Maybe you missed all the events since 2022? The Ruble is junk, massive inflation, kicked out of work banking system, 500k dead, refineries blown up, Warlords in fighting, random fires for insurance, aging population, pension cuts, mass incarceration, and censorship... It's quickly becoming the North Korea of Europe easily within a couple generations.
@@Whistlewalk Don't worry, but Russian strategic missiles fly fast.❤
@@Whistlewalk
No. Slower than some would want, but there has been concern about Putin and his red button. If you look carefully you can see that Russia is rapidly using up the equipment left to it by the Soviet Union and they can't replace it at anywhere close to their loss rate. And Russia is spending their money on stuff that is just getting blown up. That leaves them with nothing to build up their county.
Russia is being bled dry. Perhaps it could have been done faster, but there was a concern.
There's another factor which is largely unrecognized. The world is switching from ICEVs to EVs. Last year 18% of new car purchases were EVs, it's projected that 25% will be this year. We've now entered the phase where technology transitions happen rapidly. The oil for fuel industry is going to collapse. Russia has very little to sell to the outside world once the market doesn't want its oil. Russia is wasting its capital and will be losing its major income source.
Agreed with Ben Hodges 100%

"Give"? Weapons aren't free. They have to be paid for by taxpayers
Two points:
a) Many of those weapons have been elderly and often ready to be scrapped from western inventories so cost nothing.
b) Also its a lot cheaper having the Ukrainians fighting and crippling the Russian military than having western forces having to maintain larger forces to deter a Russia that has conquered Ukraine and is looking for its next victim.
most of these have already been paid for by said taxpayers; and for once I am happy my taxes have been used for a good purpose
