Was my first WEC race and first time at COTA, it was a blast overall. Cant wait for next year.
Saw the the Iron Dames and TF Sport make contact from the grandstands at that turn. They did meet back up later, after pitting, for several laps with the TF Sport in front and I swear the Iron Dames were pissed because it looked like they were being super aggressive behind the TF Sport trying to pass and almost made contact several times at that same turn.
Overall everyone actually got lucky with the heat as it was 10 degrees hotter the week prior to the race floating around 100. Still ended up with a sunburn even with the partial clouds though, lol.
The sound of that Cadillac engine is just something else...
Fun race. Happy to see Kubica win and a Ferrari win outside of Le Mans. Nice video. Keep up the good work.
Alpine was really fast, hope this happens again
BMW Hypercar good effort top 4 and 5
It was about time BMW actually had a decent luck
Caddy had 4th, no?
1. Ferrari
2. Toyota
3. Ferrari
4. Caddy
5. BMW
Thanks FJ, the customer team concept is working well with 2 victories now. Penske Porsche seem to be deteriorating as the season goes on. I think they will be overrun by Toyota or Ferrari by season end.
As a porsche fan, i’m devastated
Gio crashed into the Peugeot imo. Great race! Insane shots at the entry of turn 3🤙🇺🇸🦅
Iron Dames ran into another car. How tf is that unlucky? Good video!
From what I see this time it their own (or specific Bovey) fault
@kidpagronprimsank05 it was rahel not sarah who ran into the vette
Hopefully it can Motivated BMW for more and wins next year the 24h of Daytona
Looks like these Ferrari Hypercars only win the races with « Le Mans » in their name. Jokes aside, it was an amazing sunday with Monza and Austin later.
I felt bad for bmw for not getting a better results in hypercar
Hi😊
It would nice if BMW wins her first Hypercar Race in Fuji or Bahrain
Toyota should have won the race and had the best BOP still despite the nerfs. Ferrari got very lucky for the win. Likely Ferrari will get nerfed and Toyota still get buffed in terms of BOP. I would say they need to buff the other hypercar and LMDHs as the Toyota and Ferrari are way in front and the others are lagging.
Such a good race. I watched the opening hour at turn 1, then moved around a bit and saw the final 3 hours from the main straight. I was able to have telemetry on my phone so it was easy to follow too. De Vries pulled a major stint to bring them into contention. Unlucky with the pit lane drive through and mistake at turn 1. Amazing overall.
Great recap, I was there but needed this to now know what happen to all the cars that got into mishaps . I always have to rewatch races that I attend.
if the 9X8 keeps performing poorly for the rest of the season could Peugeot cancel it next year?
They have said they are in until the end of 26, but given how badly they are doing I hope they stay for that long. They have such a storied history as a marque it's sad to see. I'd hoped for much better.
Here's my review of COTA/Race
The Good:
Fantastic facility, lots of tasty food choices, lots of clean bathroom, getting in and out was easy, the trams to take you around the track were frequent and convenient, numerous grandstands to give you lots of different view of the race, the autograph sessions were great.
The Bad:
The heat in Austin at the end of August left me constantly seeking shade
Food and beverage prices were simply eye watering.
Pit pass got you a couple of short autograph sessions, but no close ups with the cars.
Suggestions:
Move the race to November. August is the wrong month to have an endurance race in TX. One of the fun things to do when attending an endurance race is to wander the track and view the race from various locations. The temps and sun made that intolerable and I ended up sitting the front straight (the only shaded grandstand) for 6 hours.
Allow the the fans that bought pit/paddock access to get a close to the cars. When the cars were't on track they were hid away in the garage and even the back of the garages were blocked from view, so despite buying a pit pass, I never saw a race car up close.
Move the car corrals to the infield. There were several car corrals at the event but because they were in the outer parking lots, you couldn't visit them without leaving the event.
Food and drink prices didn't surprise me, that's how the venue makes its money. $45 for race day tickets is pretty cheap, especially compared to F1 which is $250 for general admission. Next's years race is already set for September 7th so hopefully it will be better.
Seeing GIGAKubica to win for Ferrari after all this years is just magical
Nice overview, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I feel very bad for Iron Dames. Their luck has been absolutely horrible. You’d think that after they won the last ever GTE race at Bahrain last year that they would turn their luck around for the better, but no, it hasn’t. I really hope that they can turn their luck around at Fuji, Indianapolis, Mugello, Road Atlanta, Portimao, and Bahrain
This has nothing to do with luck because she made an impatient mistake.. unlucky driver choice, yes.
I'm excited for their remainder races, I'm looking forward for Doriane Pin in Road Atlanta as she is quick there
@@strijdje17I think you're right, but before that incident, Iron Dames did the same move on the same corner on BMW #46 and I think that was cleaner than the one with corvette, as the corvette wasnt expecting or did not use his eyes just for awareness if they're going for a divebomb
