I saw someone below a Wrestling Observer video call the Stadium Stampede "anime style wrestling" , that's the exact moment I gave up on the AEW fanbase.
I know right as if they havent ruined my favorite thing enough (pro wrestling) they are out to ruin my second favorite thing as well (anime) i think im gonna puke.
Hell, anime gets the soul of wrestling 1000 times better than the AEW goofs. I rewatched Naruto for giggles and nostalgia a year ago or so and I was laughing at how pro wrestling it is... Neji squashes Hinata, a lovable babyface, and acts all superior asshole heel; Naruto runs up, cuts a genuine wrestling promo, promises to avenge Hinata, Neji looks back and says "you've got no chance". Coming up next month on pay-per-view, Naruto vs. Neji. It's pure pro wrestling. Except that's exactly the one thing Bucks or Omega have never ever, not once managed to do: make me care about the stakes or the winner of their matches. They do a bunch of flippy shit that's, sure, kinda cool to watch, I guess, if you're into watching circus acrobatics. But nothing means anything and no one gives a fuck about who wins or who loses. The Bucks had what was supposedly the "best ladder match in history" or whatever against the Lucha Brothers: does anyone even remember who won that match? Or did anyone care? It sure as hell didn't matter at all, no one even paid any attention to the belts.
I wish it was at the level of anime wrestling. Ultimate M.U.S.C.L.E and Tiger Mask have matches and storylines WAY better then the spotfests the Young Bucks deliver.
Seriously...if Road Warrior Animal could find a fitting replacement for Hawk, and I mean fitting because the guys Vince forced on him just couldn't fill hawk's boots, I would LOVE to see him and his new partner pummel the Bucks for daring to call themselves Road Warriors. That'd be a great angle for sure.
The Young Bucks are WAY OVERRATED. It really irritates me when people say that the Bucks are the best tag-team in wrestling and the greatest tag-team ever.
@SAIRAJ DEGVEKAR First of all, you have no way of knowing if anything that you said was the absolute truth. You know absolutely nothing about the inner-workings of WWE's business structure. By the way, I do not allow Jim Cornette to do my thinking and create my viewpoints. I do that by myself. What you need to do is stop automatically believing everything that Dave Meltzer and others tell you.
I always feel like I'm missing something with the Bucks. I give them major props for selling so much merch, that's a serious achievement. But as wrestlers I do not get the hype with them at all.
i wasnt a Fan but after watching The Bucks vs. War Machine in NJPW they won me over. And the Match gainst Omega and Page is one of the best Tag Matches i have ever seen. So iam still not a super Fan of them, but i can see them as a good Tag Team, sure sometimes they do too many Spots for my personal taste but overall they can realy go and brpught back Tag Matches into the Spotlight.
The merchandise the sold was just rip offs of artworks. They basically sold their faces with more sucessful brands like Megaman and Rick and Morty. You need no dignity if you're going to get over like that.
They are extremely athletic but their selling and ring psychology are abysmal. Mic skills are fairly worthless as well. They were able to get the superkick shit off the ground and are selling it to the "people who like those kinds of things". MJF is a million times the wrestler those two or Omega could ever dream to be and the dude is 23 or 24. Crazy
I'd prefer him managing another tag team and having a feud with the Bucks cause we know he doesn't like them and the feud would feel more real and that would bring the best out of the promos and a match
So, from what I gathered, Cornette hates the Bucks, personally, for 2 main reasons: 1.) The Bucks personally disrespected Cornette. 2.) Cornette hates how the Bucks wrestle. No one throw hate here, I'm just trying to relay what I heard here.
Not sure how Jim was disrespected. In that video Jim was not disrespected, I mean if ignoring someone while on your phone is disrespectful, then that means we are all disrespectful, except myself because I do not have a mobile phone.
There's a reason they were the opening match of most NJPW events and never moved up the card. Because they perform the same match everytime and it's the equivalent of an opening match.
@Blade Runner yes because they actually know how to work a match. They can work with anyone, and go anywhere and make money. The brotherhood of reject little boys that are the pillars of AEW can only work their chaotic trampoline show with each other. Why the fuck Cody ever fell in with those jackasses is baffling!
I used to be a big fan of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega when they were in ROH/NJPW but that was before they were on TV every week for a mainstream wrestling promotion. It didn’t take long for the bloom to come off the rose once AEW started.
What’s been disappointing about AEW is the seeming refusal to try to take their prime TV slot and appeal for a mainstream audience. Instead it’s always seemed to just be a combo of Indy, ROH and NJPW. I wish they’d put some of the niche stuff in but also mix some mainstream in and grow a much bigger audience.

Lateef Reid Jake Hager is a huge and he’s a legit amateur wrestler. He could manhandle most people in professional wrestling outside of Brock lesnar. I don’t get why they don’t use him as one of their top guys.
Absolutely, they kill a lot of the credibility, I would of rather have them turn into old wcw than to turn into this indie side show, indie shows are a 1 night entertainment event, where a tv show builds a fued that will or should run 6 months, that’s wrestling
I don't have an issue with Sonny Kiss. Joey Janela and Nyla Rose should be released and I think Orange Cassidy should be allowed to manage but not wrestle, at least not in important matches.
I’m fine with Marko Stunt being in a manager role If he can work, but as an active wrestler? No, I think it can work if he were in a tag team with a big guy like Brodie lee, where Brodie does all the leg work and it’s basically a handicap match, that can work. But Marko stunt in singles competition vs legit wrestlers, or legit people of normal size? No.
The only reason why The Young Bucks even exist as a tag team is because those guys retired...if they were wrestling to this day, they would stiff these two jabronis so hard they would go into early retirement and pretend to never have anything to do with the wrestling business. Matt and Nick Jackson suck!
I don't like the Young Bucks but I don't hate them, I recognize what they can do well, but I ultimately see them as a perfect example of how flawed the idea of the "smark" is. It doesn't help to have people with influence like Dave Meltzer propagate ideas like the star system for matches since such a rating system is not a dependable way to show correlation between how good a match is as a money generating product. 5 star matches may impress "smarks" but the vast majority of paying audience members and PPV customers aren't "smarks". 5 star matches don't generally translate to big draw matches. The Young Bucks are a fine duo for appealing to "smarks" but you can't expect a booker to consider them a draw simply due to internet popularity. If The Young Bucks were better workers who have a solid grasp on ring psychology, who know how to work well with any style in the ring and shine someone up or get heat, yes, their internet credibility would be an asset but such credibility alone is not a strength. People like the Bucks and Omega have talent and skill and potential but they're hardly the pinnacle of the contemporary workers in the business. Yet some consider them to be as a FACT when it's not, it's an OPINION, because if you judge them against the best of their contemporaries using objective criteria, they fall short.
Perfectly said. Omega and the Bucks are extremely athletic and could probably become fantastic wrestlers. Unfortunately, they never seemed to feel the need to get better since they became so popular. Now their just doing the same shit over and over and will never grow their popularity. Its unfortunate, I was really hoping AEW would give WWE a run for their money.
I've been going through these older podcasts and for the life of me, I can't understand HOW the heck did these Buckarooos convinced Tony Khan to start AEW and specially HOW to give them that much backstage power. If years later, some sort of shady blackmailing or anything like that comes out, I won't be surprised at all. 😵😵🥴🥴
Since I recently finished watching the Jordan documentary I have an analogy: A wrestling card is like the Bulls in MJs second run. You have the headliner who brings in most fans (Jordan), some co-main event guys with dedicated bases who can fill out the arena and main when needed (Pippen, Rodman), a midcard of guys who might be something or were something long ago (Kukoc, Kerr, Longley, Harper), and a low card of young, opening match talent who might one day be something (basically everyone else). The Bucks' use of NJPW to build them up in ROH and eventually AEW is basically what would happen if Steve Kerr was belligerent on the Bulls, used media to convince the Spurs he was the reason they succeeded, went to San Antonio, convinced the public he's the reason the Spurs won their title, and used all that to become the player-GM of the Golden State Warriors. This of course is not real life. Kerr was a great company man who enjoyed titles with Jordan and Pippen in Chicago, then Robinson and Duncan in San Antonio, and was happy to be a role player who learned from all stars. At the end of his career, he used that knowledge to become one of the NBAs best coaches, winning 3 titles with the Warriors. He has a resume few can match and is undoubtedly a legend for that . Or you could do what the Young Bucks did and expose yourself as a fraud to anyone with the blinders taken off on a weekly basis.
Kukoc was more than a your giving credit for. Their wouldn’t have been a game six if Jordan didn’t steal the pass that was meant for Kukoc in game 5. Kukoc was 11/13 that game and Jordan was 9/26. But that was missing for the Jordan propaganda film that was the last dance.
A poor choice, rather a hard option for comparisons, a movie or circus may have suited better, but good / well done nonetheless... provided you a NBA nut.
I used to love the reverse rana. But it just happens way too much on AEW. On big PPV shows of them, theres at least 1-2 reverse ranas. It should be a move that happens once a year at most.
I've never been a fan of the Young Bucks or their style of tag team wrestling. But whatever it is they're doing, it's clearly working for them. Good on them, I guess.
They’ve definitely found a way to succeed in a niche. What’s disappointing is that they’ve taken a company who had a genuine chance and finding to be a mainstream alternative to WWE and they made it a combo of indies, ROH and NJPW and kinda ended the chance of them ever being a mainstream appeal.
The young bucks are a fart in a jar. Someone is opening the jar very slowly, but 1 day, that jar will open properly, and the stink will just turn people away..

Big moves matter unless they don't. Guys are hurt until they aren't. Nothing they do MATTERS unless it's the finish. Who cares about those punches? The guy isn't getting weakened by those blows to the head. Who cares about how he had to fight out of that leglock? His leg is going to be fine as soon as he starts his comeback. Fall to the floor? So what? Falling six feet onto bare concrete is going to have NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER on who wins this match. Just fast forward and see which finisher they decided to wrap up with. Who cares? You do know gimmick s a real word and term and not just a wrestling term right? Same with angle.
Does that make Jim Cornette Ryu Hayabusa?
Ur lame
I wish it was at the level of anime wrestling. Ultimate M.U.S.C.L.E and Tiger Mask have matches and storylines WAY better then the spotfests the Young Bucks deliver.

I'd prefer him managing another tag team and having a feud with the Bucks cause we know he doesn't like them and the feud would feel more real and that would bring the best out of the promos and a match
“You can’t play my game because you’re not on my level.”
Truth.
So, from what I gathered, Cornette hates the Bucks, personally, for 2 main reasons:
1.) The Bucks personally disrespected Cornette.
2.) Cornette hates how the Bucks wrestle.
No one throw hate here, I'm just trying to relay what I heard here.
Sounds about right. Though I guess Jim comes off as a “boomer” to some, while the Bucks come off as disrespectful pricks
Not sure how Jim was disrespected. In that video Jim was not disrespected, I mean if ignoring someone while on your phone is disrespectful, then that means we are all disrespectful, except myself because I do not have a mobile phone.
Number 2) counts way more for Cornette than it does most people. He thinks the Bucks make a mockery of the business.

The worst part about AEW is Marko Stunt and Sonny kiss. Both need to be fired ASAP.
OG Bobby Knuckles don’t forget Nyla Rose.
No.
And if this were a video about AEW, Marko Stunt, or Sonny Kiss maybe your comment would have some relevance. But it's not so why bring them up?
Can you imagine would have happened if the young chumps no sold to the Road Warriors Steiner Brothers or the APA? That would have been brutal.
The only reason why The Young Bucks even exist as a tag team is because those guys retired...if they were wrestling to this day, they would stiff these two jabronis so hard they would go into early retirement and pretend to never have anything to do with the wrestling business. Matt and Nick Jackson suck!
The Acolytes would eat them for breakfast and the Steiners would’ve crushed these chumps in seconds.
Farooq alone would've killed them in the ring just like he hurt Ahmed Johnson for injuring him
Another reason why he has no respect for them as well. He firsthand witnessed men that destroy someone if they no sold and disrespected them.
The Young Bucks should name a move after Cornette!
They could just do a kick in the nuts and call it the Cornette.
The TYFYB
i got a name for it... "The corny drive thru"
The kayfabe killer
The Cornetto
Since I recently finished watching the Jordan documentary I have an analogy:
A wrestling card is like the Bulls in MJs second run.
Also GM of the Steve Nash Phoenix Suns and TV announcer
Excellent analogy
Perfect analogy, especially about the card roster.
Another great thumbnail.

So what? Falling six feet onto bare concrete is going to have NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER on who wins this match. Just fast forward and see which finisher they decided to wrap up with. Who cares? Superkick party? Nobody seems to be hurt by them, they don't set anything up! Who cares?
Why should I care, Bucks? I'm not picking on small, high-flying wrestlers. Lets look at Ricky Starks. Not a big guy, but in shape. Understands why you do things in a wrestling ring. Sold his ass off in that singles match with Nick Aldis on Powerrr. He can basically do everything the Bucks can do, except he's better at it, and could work face or heel. And this is a guy with half the experience that the Bucks have. The Bucks just do moves. They aren't wrestling. Fuck 'em.
Nailed it.
