- It can be tough to overcome a phobia of swimming. Many individuals are put off learning to swim because of this, but it doesn't have to be that way.
Olympic champion Adam Peaty was once aqua phobic and had overcome the fear of water when we was a child.
Here are a few tips to help overcome a fear of water
1. Start by getting your feet wet and try to gradually get deeper into the water
2. When you can stand in water deep enough splash water on your face as if you are washing it. At the same time think of positive images while you are splashing your face.
3. Next try to learn to hold your breath under the water and breathe out into the water. Basically, blow bubbles!
4. Hold the side and practice kicking with your body stretched out
5. Don’t feel rushed to make progress.
6. And finally, remember you are not alone.

Same as me, as well we are at the same age. Let me know if you improved or not.
Bruh i went through so many swimming classes as a kid and i followed these tips and literally learned how to swim in 1 day 💀
Thanks.
Me too
i have the fear of water going on my face and if my face goes down, i feel like i will drown
Pls learn to blow bubbles first
When I enter the pool, the water pressure on my body is immense and I start to breath heavily and immediately go out of the pool.
This demotivates me a lot and I haven't learned swimming till now.
Any tips?
Sorry don't understand what you mean by water body on your body
@@Swimtopian the moment I submerge my body till my shoulder, I feel suffocated!
Thats actually my point sir
It helped a lot I am 12 i recently joined a swimming class and I was so disturbed and always in my mind incedents of drowning came but now a swim good
Very good to hear that
Same I'm also 12
I started my swimming lessons yesterday. I got scared while we tried to do freestyle swimming and panicked as soon as i let go of the edge. The teacher was there to help me and everything was ok. But the fact that i knew the pool is too deep for me to stand up i physically stopped moving and panicked in a matter of seconds. I'm hoping to overcome this fear eventuality...
Any tips while im still learning? It could be useful and id appreciate it a lot. :')
Maybe you should practice in a pool that is not too deep (shoulder height). Practice water treading to a point you are comfortable doing that for at least 1 min
How can you overcome the fear I'm ok until my feet feels like they are coming off the bottom of the pool floor then I start to panic how can I overcome this
Try using some floating aids like noodles under your arms. U should be able to float
im 20 & first day of swimming class breathing underwater for impossible more then a minute for me 😓😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
i will try your tips thanks
Let me know how it goes
I am scared to float alone in deep water, how can i overcome this feeling of drowning, do u have any tips coach joe?
Go with someone who knows already how to swim. Try somewhere not too deep like neck deep so you can stand but at the same time lift your legs to practice water treading
@@Swimtopian thank you, it helped alot now i have overcome my fear, and i can swim like a fish!

Yes you can do it
Hi Joe, Good day to you. I subscribed your channel and repeatedly watch your swimming tutorial videos. Ever since when I was a kid I wanted to learn on how to swim, but until now it didn't happen. I can stay on the water but on the shallow part, I'm scared to go the deepest side on a pool. Do you think I can still learn on how to swim even if I'm on my 50's?
It's weird because I came from the Philippines, but doesn't know how to swim. Thanks Joe and more power to your channel.
Hi, I think anyone at any age is able to learn how to swim. When there is a will there is a way. Please get a coach from your local swim club to help you out. Take care and keep me posted about your progress pls
Thank you so much
I have never swam before and my coach put me in water that reaches my neck. Is that safe?
I wouldn't feel safe unless the coach is in the water with me
I'm 11 but I'm still scared of deep water
Please get a coach to help you out
Nnnnope….
Am so scared each tym how can I overcome the fear ad avoiding breathing on the water bcz icnt stay long
Try to do some breathing exercises before you go into the water to calm yourself. When you are in the water, go up and down to breathe regularly. Go with someone who can swim to guide you
I drowned in deep water 💀💀 but somebody saved me otherwise I would be dead😵
Glad that you survived
