How to improve kicking
Thank you so much. Your video is really helpful. I'll practice using your techniques the next time I go to the pool.🙏😊
Love it 😍 such great visuals and advice!!!

@
Thanks De-nice and AA-Ron for your great swimming demonstration
Bolake! Kkkkk
i understood that reference.jpg
there is no way he is saying those names wrong on purpose!
D-nice
Lol
1. I never thought someone could make swimming sound so interesting !
2. I never been so emotionally invested in the skill journey of a 3D model
Wow, good works, lads !
Have you watched animation movies or series?
@@user-si9jy3zs1jI think he meant never so much emotionally invested in just a video to teach a skill... I mean not every video has such storytelling with characters you could get attached to
Anyone else watching this while not knowing how to swim?
Me.. 😅😢😊
😂
I'm a good swimmer
Same 😂
Not many then. Time to learn! It's a great all body workout that is easy on the joints.
As usual I learned more from a 9 min youtube vid than a year in swimming school. Thank you!
When I was in swimming school, my teacher didn't correct my technique even a single time, how was I supposed to improve?
You got everything right - sinking legs, out of breath quickly - but my name is not A-a-ron! 😂
A-Aron!?!
@@playmaker8833It's not A-aron either.
My name is Robert, and everything match hahahaha
De-nice was trying hard to.
@@andrewperez8358 But she gave up quickly 😀
A-A-Ron has a lot to learn.
That is correct
The-nice
This has got to be intentional 🤣
🤣🤣🤣I keep wondering if they know they pronounced the name wrong.
@@jodyditzel5623 Maybe she does maybe she doesn't. Doesn't change the fact that they pronounced the name "Aaron" differently from how it is pronounced in English.
This video is phenomenal for one reason only: the importance of fundamentals. Whether you're swimming an Iron man, competing in a 200 free, or swimming recreationally, if you're trying to get better there is no way you can skip the fundamentals
How can someone be so relatable?? How do u know every problem that i face??
So much thnku 4 this
This commentary is actually amazing because it' points out they challenges of not only learning, but teaching, and the journey we are expected to face before we improve.
Those names sound like a Key and Peele sketch I watched. "D NICE!!"
He looks like an AI avatar
I like ay Aron the most, rather than D. Nice. He is better.
Been practicing a few years but still having breath problems. This video is very helpful!
I was a competitive swimmer from the age of 8 to 18. I can tell you that there are two critical skills in swimming that are hard to teach. 1) the pull: when your hand enters the water with your thumb slightly down and your elbow relaxed, you pull the water about 3-4 inches under the midline of your body in a slight S pattern and when your hand passes your navel you use your triceps to push all the way down. Pulling the water deeper, say 5 or 6 inches from your body is inefficient. If you master the pull, and it takes strong lats and endurance to do it, your body raises up and glides through the water with less resistance. 2) Pull/Kick coordination. This is fabulously difficult to teach. When you pull with one hand, you emphasize your down kicks with the opposite foot (kick harder and slightly deeper). This coordination generates great power between opposite hand/foot at the same time and keeps your body level, reducing resistance.
If done correctly you should get the dip in the water where your mouth is when you turn your head to breathe, another bonus since you don't have to turn your head as far. Ive tried to show this to people over the years. Very few are able to adjust their technique to do it.
i duno what the hell your talking abt.. but i like it!
@@A-DUBCLUB much esaier to learn with graphic
As a swimmer, this is so helpful and super important

Очень круто! Я бы тренировался у тебя👍
never found a more accurate video on yt than this. If you are beginner trust me this the most detailed video breakdown that even 5 year old kid can understand. Recommend this video to anyone who is just starting to learn swimming.
The key to swimming with less effort is to be so relaxed and comfortable in the water that you think you could literally take a nap, floating on your back, as if you were lying on a comfy water bed. Keeping a lot of air in your lungs is a key, so watch how you breathe. Air in lungs, you go up, exhale and you sink. To move in water, you only need to wave your hands a little bit. You don't need to move your arms in formal strokes that tire you out. If you get tired, just float in place and rest. Be patient and don 't worry about going fast. If you learn to relax enough, you could swim for days, if you needed. If you are in weeds, just float on your back, keeping your body near the surface, patiently untangle yourself a bit at a time, and inch your way through them. If you're not good at this, stay away from any areas with weeds, but if you are good at this, there are no weeds so thick that they stop you.
The best thing I learned after frog and back swim was to float. Now that I can float on my back I can take a rest anytime I want.
You helped me so much! Thanks Tom
The video is a blueprint for anyone who loves being in pools, beaches and lakes. Keep up the magnificent work coach! Peace 🕊️ Blesssings to everyone involved with your priceless podcast.
I've started learning swimming for past one week and this video has covered each and every mistake/fear which i am making or going through.
Thanks for making this. It is really helpful
thank you! I can swim since I was 4 years old but because of the lack of practice I have some things that doesn’t go that well. these videos help me to remember the correct ways & to fix those problems.
my mother doesn’t know how to swim but she likes to watch these videos to get to know how swimming works & what to be cautious of.
thank you! amazing job!
Now that I saw all this, I know there is a lot to learn and I'm excited to go swimming and exercise step by step. Thanks for motivation!
Thanks for this! I'm a long time runner who decided that i wanted to learn to swim as in adult, but I wasnt able to learn even after two whole beginner classes (20 1hr sessions). I struggled with my horizontal balance. Your video explained the science behind each step better than my instructor. Seasoned swimmers do not understand the short and sudden panic of not being able to get air between strokes. My instructor just told me "you'll get used to it". After 20 lessons plus some solo training, i still didnt "get used to it".😂
People like you are more then teachers... We refer guru as teacher... I am absolute that ur one of the best guru.
I been a swimmer since I was a kid and now I’m a life guard and swimmer instructor You videos help everyone thank you dude
Swimming efficiently as you explain is difficult but I love the ups and downs of Aarons journey and your excellent analysis and guidance to him. Thanks
A-A-ron
As someone trying to overcome her aqua phobia this video gives me a lot of necessary information and hope to keep going. Thanks! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Thank you very much. I watched the videos many times, practice and practice. Half year before, I could swim freestyle for only 25m, now I can swim for 2km without getting tried.
This is very helpful, thank you. I have been swimming all my life. Pools, lakes, seas and oceans. Took various lessons from instructors but got to admit- I never knew 2 or 3 things until watching yours. Great content! Good thing you also never skipped the mental set comparison between A and D. Dont be a quitter like her, be a persistent enjoying learner like him 💜
I liked this video in story telling way especially the breathing techniques. Mostly people focus on free style swimming arms and legs more. But for beginners breathing is more difficult where new joiners loose the battle.👍
You cracked me with the Key & Peel References Lol
Things I learned as a free style swimmer:
1. Try to kick as little as possible. too much kicking tire you down quickly. Kicking also create a resistant to the momentum you create from your previous arm swing - that reduce your efficiency.
2. Try to synchronize your kick with your arm swing. When swinging your right arm, kick once with your left leg. Do the same for the opposite.
3. Keep your head as low as possible under water, only comes up when taking breath. Keeping your head low will help balance your body which cause your leg to sink. This way you need less kicking to keep your legs afloat.
Honestly this was the best explanation I’ve ever seen on UA-cam and I’ve been looking for a long time and even better than the swimming classes I had. Will put in practice next time I go swimming. Hopefully soon!
Great series and as I feel getting relaxed with breathing and body position is so fundamental at start. I often know what I need to do but with swimming it is often so hard to visualise and achieve the subtle changes and repeat to improve. Your clearer explanations and excellent drills (especially dryland with emphasis on necessary flexibity and strength) is the way forward 👍🙏🏻
I learned something from hand balancing training that applies well to swimming. Use a softly blown up swiss ball to practice front/back body balancing. Position your hips roughly in the middle of the ball. shift your weight forwards enough so you legs are raised off the ground, now leave just one arm lightly touching the ground and stretch the other arm forwards mimicking the freestyle position with your eyes looking down and the arm roughly brushing your ear lobe. Now slowly try to get to a point of perfect balance rollng your weight onto the hip that is the same side as the oustretched arm and slowly releasing more weight off the grounded arm and coordinating the leg action and hip roll. Then switch sides. As you get more skilled switch sides quicker from one hip to the other until you get it better.
I can't swim due to the feeling of unease in the water.... The holding of breath and bubbling is the best thing I ever heard to make me feel more comfortable in water! Amazing
This helps me alot, I can run a marathon and bike 100km but I can barely swim 100m. Been trying to find breathing and endurance breathing swim techniques. I'm glad I finally found this Thanks for this!
I swim every morning sometimes twice but without these videos I would still be in panic mode and walking my way back down the shallow half of the pool. Awesome work guys you truly are helping swimmers of all levels. 💪🏻👊🏻🏊🏻
Wow, it's like he's telling my whole story of learning how to swim. 😂 Such a cerebral approach and discussion, amazing visuals. This channel is a gold mine; where have you been my whole life
My swimming coach taught me in the same ways as mentioned in the video and I am doing better now. Swimming needs your body and mind to stay relaxed otherwise the fear of getting drowned will not let you learn.
I started learn swimming...and after 1 month I have the same probl as a Ron...I am totally demotivated...and become de nice... Thanku i just find your video...i will do this from tomorrow
A lot of us learn how to swim without fully overcoming the subconscious terror of too much CO2 in the lungs. Thank you for stating this outright at the beginning and providing a technique for overcoming it through the bubbling exercise.
Very good tutorial. LOL, in remembering how the city pool swim instructor taught me to swim when I was very young. Was to throw me in the deep end and put me in a swim or die position in my mind. My my how things changed. 👍. Good to see it focusing on more than just body mechanics. Breathing, mental control, and bringing it back to spacial awareness is so much a part of any physical activity. Great job guys.
this was great, i finally felt the feeling of gliding through the water... instead of dragging myself through it.
Why the hell am I watching this? I have 2 papers overdue for tomorrow. I don’t even like swimming
😂
You probably like to hear A-A-Ron
I forgot how to breath watching your breathing exercises 😄
Good advises and nice way of giving them.
Thanks
Exactly same problem here, swim fast for 50meters, but get exhausted right-way. To many of us, video like this would be the most informative way to help beginners to improve step be step, as the “Aaron guy” is perfectly representative in terms of demonstrating how repeatedly swimmers struggled to correct our mistakes, or, instincts. A success in anything, including swimming, doesn’t come right after “knowing how”, but with practice for hundred times. Keep report the process and we can all learn from it! swim fast!
Endou it takes your brain a long time to figure out and remember how it feels to swim correctly. You can feel it one day then the next day be off
Really good instructions! I struggled trying to learn swimming as an adult. Never really graduated to a comfortable level. I can see all the flaws now! Motivated to try again!
What a bootcamp, Thank you so much for making it so simple to understand swimming dynamics
You guys are really good.
Love the details and the way you teach.
So many good pointers .
Thanks for the dedication you put into these videos , I never miss one !
A Aron. D Nice. Lol. One of the funniest skits ever.
I am a beginner swimmer unfortunately I've have experience 2 near drowning experience as a child as an adult I wanted absolutely nothing to do with water but I'm learning to overcome my fear so for me technique is key and your videos give those specific technique for a beginner swimmer which is awesome I do love kayaking and canoeing so it's even more imperative that I can face my fear so I could do these activities more often thank you for your videos 👍
I've never had swimming classes. This was awesome. Thank you so much
He needs to go to Principal O-Shaq-Hennessy’s office.
Great video, a lot of useful information shown in an awesome way.. I'm excited for tomorrow's swim practice now
You couldn’t have described it better . Thank you . Alex I hope this helps
Ive been trying to pinpoint my problems for the longest time and it seems that i had the same problem Ay-Ron. This video is what i need. Thank u
What I learned from this video is that I already have excellent swimming technique instinctively! Thanks! 😊
Awesome lessons! Thank you so much! 🔥🤗
Amazing guys! So much care and attention to this video! Thank you all!
Thank you. That’s was really good information. I will try it when I’m in the pool. I loose my tech to quickly when I’m in the water
Thank you so much for these tips.
I really enjoyed the story with Aaron.
And your explanations were really clear 👏🏼
I'm definitely an AAron. I used to be able to float easily when I was fatter, but it seems that my legs are somehow so dense now that my legs always sink no matter what. However my upper body still floats. And my technique sucks. So this video was super helpful.
great video. i’m glad i recorded myself swimming i was able to find a lot of mistakes. had no idea i was making so many mistakes. back to the drawing board but now i know what to work on!
Very well explained.
One more exercise is to floating above the surface with head immersed inside water with arms stretched in front.
This will improve the horizontal balance.
Great video animations. The top I have ever seen. Great detail discussed! Will be my new go-to for freestyle. Will share! Thank you!
LOVE the Key and Peele references! Also, GREAT video I am literally Aaron.
This makes me wanna go back and learn the technique so I could participate in triathlons. Only fear is my swimming. It felt like I was watching myself struggling in a pool. 😂. Excellent video. I am hooked.
I love your work! Thank you! I hope the restrictions will be soon over and I will be able to access swimming pool again!
Just learning to swim for the last two month. Your video truly helps
cool,pace?
Me to. Agree.
I learned to swim efficiently around 1976 in summer swim club. Even at age 60 I'm often the fastest one in the pool, and taking far fewer strokes per minute. It's a great skill to have.
Kelly me too
@@peterdean5300 Every done "swimming golf", adding strokes for a 50 yard swim to your time?
Never have i ever had a UA-cam video describes my struggle more perfectly. thanks. now how many times can i watch this until i get one or two of these right
In the meanwhile, a year ago, I decided to take up swimming for exercise. No one to teach me other than a handful of lessons 30 years ago. I managed to do about 20 laps of 25m before being too exhausted. I eventually settle on 30 laps and swim for half an hour, but still give up sometimes because I am so out of breath. Even more eventually I start finishing my 30 laps in 23-24 minutes and decide to go for 40 laps to make a nice round number (1km).
I never did get much better than 1km in 30-33 minutes, but seeing these videos really tells me there is so much more than just making an effort.
Woah. My name is Aaron and I am beginning to learn how to swim for a triathlon. Every single thing in this video is a perfect description of me
That's a little scary 😳 But statistically probable. I don't think your name is pronounced like that though 🤣
Thanks a lot for doing this animated video swimming instructions in detail. Excellent for those scared or don't know what to do under the water: how it looks - proper and wrong exercises - to get started confidently with less effort. 😍💪👍👏
Wow it all makes sense at long last, I never got to enjoy swimming, can’t wait to try this out, thanks sir.
One of the missing things I've found is useful is how you can control buoyancy by holding air in your lungs. If you hold air in your lungs you will naturally float which is why you slowly breathe bubbles as you swim. It also helps get past the fear of drowning as you get more comfortable floating in the water with just holding air than fighting to keep yourself with your arms and legs.
Awesome! This reminds me of my initial swim test back in 79 when I was training for my SCUBA classes. Obviously one has to be able to swim before donning diving gear so our test was in a pool. To the point, one of my classmates, a native Hawaiian, was so impressive in his swim technique(s). He made it look so easy and effortless. He was gliding almost on the surface it seemed, reaching some pretty fast times in the back-and-forth swim observations. Yes, he was the teacher's pet and we learned much from his "instinctive" style. I guess if one is born and raised in the ocean, one learns how to swim efficiently. He was better at teaching and coaching the swim than our instructors. BTW, we nicknamed him AQUAMAN!
I can't sink 😅 (at least not as long as I am awake) . I can float (straight/ horizontal body position) without using my arms nor legs; endlessly and effortlessly. On my belly & back.
People call me Mermaid when they see me in the water. Allegedly I also have a beautiful crowl technique, many swimmers told me. I'm a smoker for 20 yrs now 😞 & I take my breath after 7 strokes, no problem.
I had lived on a tiny island as a kid. Always thought it must have something to do with it, haha- but many coasters/islanders can't float nor swim very well, so... it doesn't make sense either.
My God, this video poped out of nowhere to remind me that I have given up learning to swim after 3 weeks, before, due to so many of the mentioned prorbems, accompanied by my trainer quitting and having too many kids in the pool at the same time.
I might go for it again soon, for now I'll focus on learning web dev and hoping to get a job. Thanks!
OMG, This video is 100% me and my problems. Now when I try to tell people my problems swimming I will just send them this video.
Such an amazing video, great job!
The explanation is SO detailed, visually AND in narration.. a very well thought out tutorial..this is too good!
Thank you!
the "australian crawl" and learning how to Float on your back helped me swim the mile in boy scouts,, i was 11. taught my kids relaxing swimming.
One of the best science of swimming channels and also love the art of storytelling ❤
Well I'm somewhat an Aaron myself. 😆 It's incomprehensible how everything is exactly just like you said. Except I have a fear of water as a bonus. Other than that, I really tense when I swim. I usually have sore muscles after each session, like really sore. And yeah, I can bearly swim a little without stopping. I usually panting after few meters of swimming, thus I feel I need more air than I can take while swimming. It's certainly not as easy for me as everyone else.
Thank you! I had no idea my name is A Aron! I truly appreciate your voice cadence, content taught, and especially the foreshadowing even thought it means I have so much more to learn...and I'm more scared that you're probably an intuitively created halogram!! Thanks!
Hologram? I'm pretty sure I'm flesh and blood
Superb teaching methodology
Most useful video about swimming I ever saw. I swim for many years and this video helpt me improve a lot!
As someone who's never really seen a video on body technique before this feels very useful in general for muscle memory. Maybe something I can use to help with dancing or other sports

I needed to say: I FEEL YOU ARON! Hahah omg I've been through all that, but the video is DEFINITELY one of the best from the best UA-cam channel for beginners swimmers ❤ I would definitely love to try the app cause I feel so related to all you guys say. I've tried the breathing technique before, but it still feels a bit hard to have half of my face under water and breathe just through this small opening of the mouth. I feel I want to grasp all air I'm able to not to drawn hahah. Looking forward for the next videos and for the app, of course! *-*

Wow! This was so helpful. Thank you. Outstanding!
Glad it was helpful!
this is brilliant information which covers and explains all of the bugbears I am encountering whilst trying to learn how to swim smoothly and without effort, this video is really usefull in it's explanations on CO2 tolerance and fear, abd the exercises to counteract it...Thanks
Good content, but first i need to learn swimming 😅
I'm told I "fight the water & need to relax". I'm like bro what does that even mean, my default mode is high energy and punch things 😂
But I'm getting better at this mystery concept people call relaxing
🤣 It's a game of relaxing and flexing
I shared a lane with A Aron at SD swim
camp. Great to see his improvement!
Watched a few minutes of this video and paused to subscribe! You can tell the guy knows what he's talking about 😊
Key and Peele? A-Aron and De-nise?
Such a great explanation and the graphical representation is amazing
Thanks for the detailed and scientific approach you use when you teach. Your graphics are awesome!
The most worrying thing is taking in water when you breath.
I just watched one of the best educational videos on UA-cam, amazing design and simple explanation .. thank you
This is such a great lesson. I have the same problems as Aaron. Thank you.
Been hitting the pool at my gym lately because it seemed to me that kind of stamina training would translate well to my Jiu-Jitsu sparring. Looks like I have swimming technique to improve on now also
So brilliantly animated it seemed i myself was under water and felt breathless many times the aaron went down. I too am just a starter and breathing is the main concern while swimming. It needs a lot of practise to master the skill of swimming.
