My old band Mother Grundy at the Ramona MainStage 8/29/15. Also check out my newest studio remake of Tell Mama I recorded in Nashville with producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton): • Tell Mama
Great cover~! I've been to 5 Savoy Brown concerts in Houston, they NEVER would play this song for some reason, even with people in the audience screaming "Tell Mama" Kim even said " Tell her what? " at one of those shows. It's my favorite song by them.
Nice cover of a timeless classic! BTW - tip my hat to the engineer, that is an absolutely superb live mix - everything is dialed in - snare drum sounds like a shotgun blast.
when you have two electric guitar players who can both play one can get into open tuning in the other one can stay in standard and it'll sound marvelous just like the record.... when you're the only guitar player that you know that can actually can play you have to play it in standard tuning by yourself on acoustic
Thanks! Our slide player was in open E due to other songs we played that night. I recently recorded this song in Nashville. I played slide in open A. You can hear it on my channel.
Someone bring back the 70’s plz. I’ve liked this song since it came out.

Sounds very similar to the Savoy Brown recording. Good job.
This is how a cover should be done
I've always loved that silent break at 3:27, followed by the bass. Kind of reminds me of 'Dreamer' by Foghat.

This is a direct cover of Savoy Brown's version. No one, however, can play bottleneck like Kim Simmonds.
Except for Rod Price.
@@tictok8565 Or Duane Allman. Or Rory Gallagher. To name just two more.
Forgot about Rory-good call.
Savoy Brown are soooooooo good
@@tictok8565 Indeed, Rod Price (RIP) of Foghat was the first player I thought of.
