You know, I used to really dislike the extreme visual changes to the Kremlings in DKC3, especially compared to the more natural seeming progression from 1 to 2, but your theory that these Kremlings were experimented on and mutated by K.Roolenstein not only makes a ton of sense, but also gives me a better appreciation for the drastically different art style. Maybe I should go replay DKC3 and look at it from this new perspective, see if it changes how I feel about it.
@mr.monkey354 no it really wasn't. The manual never mentions anything about mutation. Just that "Dixie and Kiddie discover a whole new collection of Kremlings". With the new names, the implication is they're just different Kremlings, not mutated versions of the previous ones.
Excellent video bro! 3:01 about the magic thing, I thought so too! But could also been Wizpig P.s. Man that challenge at the end is tough...only got 3 (and have my doubts about 1 of them lol
Good video as usual, Jiggy! Yeah, I've wondered about how K. Rool constructed that magic barrier and trapped the Banana Birds in the crystals. Maybe K. Rool has some untapped powers that we don't know about? One other mystery that I can't remember if you discussed in your Donkey Kong 64 videos: How did Wrinkly Kong die between Donkey Kong Country 3 and 64? I always assumed natural causes, but I don't recall it ever being mentioned in the games.
> K. Rool Uses Magic: In DKC 2, Kaptain K Rool uses some magic during his boss battle. Turning invisible and even warping around. His weapon can also store ghosts in it. > Secret Boat Songs: I did not know about that. That said, the Hover Craft's secret beep jingle does play when Krematoa (the lost world), rises from the ocean. > K. Rool's Super Brain: I get the impression King K Rool, Kaptain K Rool, and Baron K Roolenstein, are all different characters. They each have their own faction of Kremlings. Or each of them is a kind of feudal warlord.
I'd be okay with the K.Rools all being different but related, like triplets or, being crocodilians, they all hatched from the same clutch of eggs. They could also have been leaders in the Kremean War. Oooh, that would actually explain a major plot hole in DK64, specifically the Captain K.Rool portraits seen in Gloomy Galleon. What if the cove in G.G. was actually the site of a major naval battle between the Kremling and Bear navies? That would explain all of the sunken Kremling ships full of Captain K.Rool portrtaits and why there seemingly weren't any other ships underwater. It could also be that G.G. was some sort of naval base for the Kremlings that was bombarded by the Bear Navy (maybe even Bazooka Bear participated with Big Bessie?) and sealed off afterward. If Captain was a different person from King, then that would go a long way to explain the discrepancy of K.Rool "reverting" back to King after being Captain and Baron - he never was. Creepy Castle has been speculated to be the blasted off top of Kremling Island from DKC 2, but what if it was the Baron's Kastle KAOS from DKC3? Heck, the entire island fortress could have been cobbled together from the remains of Kremling Island and the Baron's KAOS technology. There's even some precedence for the idea - in the animated DKC TV show, King K.Rool does mention having several siblings in one episode. An original character for the show, Captain Skurvy, is the older brother of General Klump and looks almost exactly like him except for a brown color instead of green. Given that and how similarly most of the Kong clan look to each other (as well as the Bear Brothers), it's not unreasonable to assume that K.Rool's unnamed siblings would also follow the same trend and look alike to each other.
I’m shocked at how many of these I didn’t know!!! I gotta replay through the gba version. It’s my favorite of the gba games, feels like a love letter to dkc3 and not just a remake. The new world was such an insane addition! Love your videos and love the hidden birds

I assume everytime you lose a life, and a balloon pops, time just rewinds back to the start of the level (or a checkpoint). And when you have no more balloons, the Kongs stay beaten up, and are captured. However, it's a bit hard to get captured if you were incinerated in a lava pit, or dissolved in the toxic tower. I always found that funny.

Most times people call something magic if its something they dont understand and cant comprehend so most likely he used science and it seemed like magic to them.
K. Rool doesn't actually have a wife. It was confirmed by Leigh Loveday (who came up with the story and lore behind the DKC Series) via Scribes back in December 23, 1999 that the King K.'s infamous line was a cheeky reference to The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, a TV Sketch comedy show created by the British double (trouble :P ) act Vic and Bob. So yeah, the Kremling King himself is most definitely a bachelor. And considering how he's been shown to be a genocidal monster with a deteriorating grasp of sanity in each of his subsequent appearances, who in their right mind WOULD want to marry him? As for his access to magic? Well, he was shown to have invisibility powers in DKC 2, and the Kremling Source in Krocodile Kore does seem to have some kind of magical properties that keeps Crocodile Isle afloat and was deemed important enough to have been guarded by the indestructible Klubba. So maybe they're connected?

I think a mystery in DKC3 is that K Roolenstien isn’t King K Rool.. his RIGHT eye is bloodshot red while in every other appearance his LEFT eye is bloodshot red. Also I could have swore as a kid i read something somewhere mentioning that K Roolenstien is just a relative of K Rool. Maybe just me misremembering something though 🤷
@@jiggylookbacknot to mention, like you pointed out, his huge head. I think when they made the game that the boss wasn’t King K Rool. Just his brother or family member from the Northern Kremisphere. Then retconned it to make it K Rool years later when making DK64 or the GBA remake?! Then again it’s 90’s RARE we are talking about, so it’s untelling!😂
@ I feel like I need to dig into this more now. His eye being on the opposite side is wild…perhaps he’s a creation of K Rool himself? Tho they do directly refer to him as k Rool. (The banana bird queen) But still…
If Link is sailing around and ended up there, and given the release date of these games, it has to be ALttP Link. He’s the same Link from Link’s Awakening, and that game happens after a shipwreck. Clearly, Link sank his ship after visiting the DK islands. Someone add it to the Zelda timeline.
Despite that wasn't my favorite game in the series (my biggest problem were that the game was a little cryptic with the clues and very talkative and those years I was learning the english language), still it was a decent game, the mini-games and the exploration really added a good variety but the levels and same with the music, it were pretty average and forgettable, it wasn't bad but not good either in my opinion. But anyway, great video by the way!, you really made and pointed some very good questions, I complety forgot that Link was in the game. 😂
@jiggylookback I somehow doubt it, only because the kongs don't appear to be bigger than Kiddy. Still curious why neither of them can get out of the crib. You know, in the first DKC game, it shows Donkey and Diddy too hurt to fight, in DKC2 it looks like Diddy and Dixie either put into a dungeon or oven (maybe both), and here in DKC3, they look like they can leave at anytime.
@@therandombats2579 well I mean that’s why I suggest it’s a parental figure. Because why would they stay in the crib otherwise? They’re in trouble. Lol
I was actually referring to like Mario VS DK and I guess DK94. I know it’s technically cranky in the old arcade games and I realize that Mario VS came out after.
@ I forgot about Mario Vs DK and always seen ‘94 as just a Gameboy version of the classic. But yeah my main question was going to be if you knew Cranky is meant to be the original DK and that got answered when I watched the Mysteries of DKC2 video.
@ I never noticed that and the wiki article says that it is pretty much a reimagining of the classic DK games and not a remake so it is likely meant to be Donkey from DKC.
Whoa there, little fella! Is DK lazy or is he content? Generally lazy isn't associated with an individual who is straight up nattie jacked and dresses up and wears a tie lol
Yes! This is what I've been waiting for. You yourself even mentioned a lot of things I was gonna mention. But what I'd really like to start with first and foremost is how criminally underrated and overhated DKC 3 is much like Conker Live & Reloaded. Many things people hate about it are somewhat juvenile I will admit. Mainly because people consider Kiddy an annoying character would explain why we never see him in any other DK games ever! Personally though I don't think he gets enough credit as a character. Plus when compared to DKC 1&2 its true that DKC 3 is somewhat watered down and a tad more juvenile than the other 2 but it's still more challenging than DKC 1. The thing is that DKC 2 is so challenging and adventurous, with it having 52 levels total which is the most any of the 3 SNES games have (DKC 1 has only 40 and DKC 3 has 48), that it kinda raised standards and expectations people had for DKC 3. Plus there's the fact that DKC 3 was one of the very last games made for SNES due to the N64 already having been out, but I personally consider it a great farewell game to the console to show what a good run it had. When you think about it, the 3 DKC games for SNES are like the first 3 Terminator movies. The first one is good, the second is even GREATER being even better than the first, and the third is good but not as great as the second. I'd also like to point out the world of DKC 3. I totally love it's look, layout and design I really dig it. Im sure you may know that The Northern Kremisphere takes inspiration from Canada and Northern Europe as Rare themselves even admitted. My favorite levels in DKC 3 are the cavern, cliff, snow, pipe, waterfall and steel mill ones. Thise are my favorites because in my opinion they got the best imagery as well as music of all levels. The games world the Northern Kremisphere particularly thos levels remind me of all the fascinating places I learned about in elementary school as a 90s kid. Kinda neat and fun. I also like the look of the underwater levels but I don't like their music cause I consider it too dark and depressing. One flaw I will point out in DKC 3 is the tiny and somewhat lousy role Cranky has. He only appears when you play against him at Spanky's Sideshow and at the end when KAOS and K. Rool are first defeated and of course water skiing in background after second defeat. THAT'S IT! But at least Funky, Swanky, and Wrinkly were brought back. But the one thing about DKC 3 I don't really like are most of the enemies. Let's be honest, they're kinda lame. DKC 1&2 had lots of cool enemies and some were even a challenge but most of DKC 3's enemies don't put up much of a fight. That includes bosses because even they're kinda silly as hell. The only DKC 3 enemies I ever thought were cool were those blue muscular kremlings and the two bosses, KAOS and K. Rool himself. That's it. Even all other bosses like the barrel monster, the giant spider, the evil snowman who looks like Batmans Penguin and the crab head behind the waterfall were all just goofy. The sea urchin was ok, not too cool but not too lame either. One other thing I wanna say is how awesome K. Rools castle and submarine are. I really love their looks and designs both inside and out. As for the lost world in DKC 3 it's cool too. I think I like DKC 2's lost world a tad better but this one's cool too. And I also love the Banana Bird Queen and even the design of the wall imprisoning her. I also like how in DKC 1 K. Rool is just an evil king, in DKC 2 he's a pirate and i. DKC 3 he's a mad scientist. And it's no secret how rich K. Rool is. I mean he has his own company Kremcroc Industries Inc. He has his own castle with a laboratory in the tower as well as own submarine and that flying croc ship in DKC 2. Many fans have even felt the industrial levels in both DKC 1&3 symbolize the terrible harm which heavy industry puts on nature. So in conclusion DKC 3 is, always has been and always will be a 90s gaming classic from Rare that shaped the childhoods of 90s kids everywhere and should even be given another chance by those who hate it. It's very peaceful and relaxing to play. Sure it's not as challenging and adventurous as DKC 2 but still more so than DKC 1 which is also still a great classic game no matter what. I give DKC 3 8 out of 10. Id give it 9 but with most of its enemies lame in my opinion Im taking a point off. But I still love it and always will. Thanks!

For real this was hard. One of them was only one frame on Screen. x3
I’m sorry.
Number 0:40 is actually just in the bg of the image and I didn’t realize it. So I guess technically there is 5….you’re correct on all the others.
K. Rool's crown is visible on the blockade in front of Mama Bird.
@@seanewing204 Right right! The image of the crown. It has a lot of strange runes.
I even was doing research to connect the runes in the blockade to the runes on Cheatos pages from banjo. But nothing lol

Also, if you refuse at first to give Björn his wrench, he'll hold a grudge against you, and charge two bear coins everytime you want to use his chairlift ride!
Yeah I read that. Hilarious
That’s a great point…his eye is backwards…
@@jiggylookbacknot to mention, like you pointed out, his huge head. I think when they made the game that the boss wasn’t King K Rool. Just his brother or family member from the Northern Kremisphere. Then retconned it to make it K Rool years later when making DK64 or the GBA remake?! Then again it’s 90’s RARE we are talking about, so it’s untelling!😂
@ I feel like I need to dig into this more now. His eye being on the opposite side is wild…perhaps he’s a creation of K Rool himself?
Tho they do directly refer to him as k Rool. (The banana bird queen)
But still…
It's an error with the render they mirrored it
i fucking love videos like this lol. thank youuu 🩷
That’s great to hear! I make videos like this all the time lol
Yeah the model in DKC2 seems to be like the art of LTTP as well. I think you are correct!
Thank you!! And yes Link is a sort of easy to miss detail for sure! But it’s cool he is referenced. Love stuff like that!
Then who made the war pipes but he's not a plumber lol Guess who I'm talking about
Another great video
Thank you for watching!!
One mystery in dkc3 is who put Dixie and Kiddy in a crib (after losing the last life)? Why can't either them get out?
Any theories?
@@therandombats2579 good question. Has to be a parental figure. Who is Kiddy Kong’s father?
@jiggylookback I somehow doubt it, only because the kongs don't appear to be bigger than Kiddy. Still curious why neither of them can get out of the crib.
You know, in the first DKC game, it shows Donkey and Diddy too hurt to fight, in DKC2 it looks like Diddy and Dixie either put into a dungeon or oven (maybe both), and here in DKC3, they look like they can leave at anytime.
@@therandombats2579 well I mean that’s why I suggest it’s a parental figure. Because why would they stay in the crib otherwise? They’re in trouble. Lol
I think KAOS isnt actually pronounced as Chaos, but instead as K.O.s, cause of the boxing gloves
@@gooeydude574 oh that’s really good, I hadn’t thought of that
The 5:58 timestamp should be 5:48
Thank you! I fixed it. Just a typo.
Now that the DK country trilogy is done, what now? Do you plan on doing Country Returns and Tropical Freeze next in the future?
Hmmm not sure yet. I don’t think I’m going to do a Donkey Kong game for a bit here.
Oh come on.. Link has 19 and Mario has 39? Riiiiiiiight. 😵💫
Lol I mean even worst is Yoshi being higher than link.
Dixie for Smash Bros 6!
I’m for it!!

Did you mean to say Gangplank Galleon instead of Gloomy Galleon when talking about the ship horns?
Yes I did.
@@jiggylookback Ok. I was confused for a moment.
@@NezuChan yeah sorry it was just a mistake when I did the voice over.
@@jiggylookback No worries. Looking forward to more Dinosaur Planet streams.
@ tonight!
Too many people hate game unjustifiably!
I don’t get it. I really enjoyed it
Are you referring to the original DK games when you say he has been a bad guy before?
I was actually referring to like Mario VS DK and I guess DK94.
I know it’s technically cranky in the old arcade games and I realize that Mario VS came out after.
@ I forgot about Mario Vs DK and always seen ‘94 as just a Gameboy version of the classic. But yeah my main question was going to be if you knew Cranky is meant to be the original DK and that got answered when I watched the Mysteries of DKC2 video.
@ I think the 94 DK is the country DK because he wears his tie.
Cranky never did.
I prefer DKC 3
3:42 Gangplank Galeon not Gloomy Galeon.
Oh yes thanks!
DK3 is weird
Sort of is yep
Thanks!
Wow so much, but I do like it too! The atmosphere and vibe is incredible.
