Would always recommend purity of elements. Biggest reason is not only it helps keep your Res capped, but ailment immunity. Not being frozen is just amazing for keeping up momentum.
honestly ailment immunity is the one thing I have to have on all my builds it annoys me so much :) This is why I historically normally play Raiders
Great video! I would go even more extreme on the "don't pick up items" part: If you really want to be efficient, know exactly how many of each currency you need beforehand for the gems (some builds like PConC also need to buy flasks in Act 1) you need to buy during the campaign and then stop picking up the low value currency that you wouldn't pick up in maps. This is a lot of clicks early on for very little value (especially because they drop in large stacks later but only 1 at a time early).

Long time poe player here, I have always been an hour an act kinda gamer. Got thousands of hours in this game but still takes me 10-12 to get through the campaign. This has me feeling inspired to practice up a bit before next friday. Thanks for the tips!

It’s all good tips. When I did apply most of those tips, it did cut my campaign time by half, if not more. The best thing I did to improve my time is league start practice, especialy act 1 to 5. If you whant to try a new skill for starter it’s even more important because at the end you can say if it suit your play style or not(nothing worst for me to start white map and realize I don’t like the play style)

There were not really any changes to this build as patch notes were pretty much non existent so build should be exactly the same

I must say though, I have a little different opinion on picking up rares. Especially when you're an average player (who needs this video) and playing your league starter build, you want to have as many alterations as possible when you reach maps. That's because on your first character, alterations are awesome source of chaos orbs though trade.
That's why IMHO, even if you lose a few minutes per zone, it's totally worth it to pick up them rares and portal into town every now and then to sell them.
Your average player doesn't know if the rares s/he picks up are worth selling or maybe s/he doesn't get any good drops until yellow tier maps. If s/he even can make it that far with the levelling gear from like act 8. That's why rather than save all those few hundred alterations you don't even need, why not just sell them for 10-20 chaos and buy some cheap uniques that boost your damage.
On your second charatcer, once you have some base currency, it's completely fine to start ignoring some loot.
Yeah it is fine to do either. I find alterations drop pretty frequently raw and the divination card from sulphite is pretty common. Although you can pick 100s of rares up to sell for chaos I personally would rather have that time back as this can add hours onto your play through considering it is about 1 alteration orb for every 4 items. 99% of what you pick up in the campaign will not sell which is why I tend to just ignore them. Same in maps I never pick up rare items unless I need the base as again 99% of what you find on the ground is junk

I will be bringing a video out about this but how you progress varies a lot on how much investment your build needs, so for the purposes of the video I will be focusing on my league start build which will be rain of arrows chamption

www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Adders79. Filters should be both names something like 3.22 bow levelling and 3.22 bow early mapping. They are a work in progress though so might not be finished until league start. If you follow them however they will auto update. They use a very basic setup as super colourful items do not render well on youtube videos so the filters might not be to everyone's taste
While i do agree about not over investing in life itself, i do think making that life more valuable is important. Utility flasks and defensive auras can be the difference of dying and having to rewalk an entire zone or not.
Yeah 100% agree with this. I maybe should have mentioned auras and flasks
The best way to slam acts is to just do it alot. I make 4 or 5 characters a league, sometimes more so im clearing acts and getting to maps in about 6 hours. Links and resistance is all you need to kill act 10 kitava. Just know in the back of your mind that every piece of gear you have in act 10 is going to be replaced by a 2c purchase on the trade site at maps.

i want a end game torn shot build...what would you level as?
You can level as Deadeye Rain of Arrows and switch to TS once you get your 3 labs and the 2 additional proj from the tree. It will be squishy but TS is viable to start now thanks to the extra arrows from the tree

Do you guys know which NPCs we NEED to talk to in all 10 acts? I always talk to all the exclamation marks because I never remember which ones I can disregard. If I knew, I could keep a post-it and save myself some time.
You do not need to speak to any. I think you might have to go back to town to give innocence/bannan the staff that you pick up in chamber of innocence. My Act 10 Route is:
- Ignore everyone and exit town
- Rescue Bannan and go straight down to the main square
- Drop portal and go down to get the waypoint where you kill valenta
- Waypoint to town and take the portal and head up to get the waypoint by Ossuary
- Complete lab and collect elixir in Ossuary. Exit to character select and TP back to Ossuary (Ignore everyone in town)
- Travel to and complete chamber of innocence
- TP to control blocks and kill Valenta
- Exit to character select. In town give innocence the staff and collect all the rewards
- Run Lab if needed
- Kill Kitava
I only interact with towns folk at the end with everything completed in the zones

@@Flomaitrecubeur You only ever need to speak to people if you need to collect something from them.
From memory
- Act 2 you need to speak to NPC after killing bandits to collect the Apex
- Act 3 you need the sewer key after killing piety
- Act 9 you need to get bottled storm after competing quest in the desert
- Act 10 as discussed.
I think that is the only time you have to interact with the vendors to progress the story

I ALWAYS get lost, can't find exits etc that's what slows me right down 😡
Same I still get constantly lost especially in act 1 & 2
my fastest tip is to start league on standard so I'm already lvl 96 right away
Haha yeah that works too, but a lot of people love the challenge of gearing up characters in a fresh economy
How do u know that ur overleveled?
Check area level from the top right corner (with the transparent map overlay open) and try to stay within 3 levels of that
@@TehMillionkill 1-15 3lvl and every 16 lvls you get +1 to safe level range
As others have said the zone level is in the top right of the screen. If you are not bothered about speed being overlevelled by 1-3 levels does not really matter just do not go too far either way
Oof I've ran maybe two dozen act 1 and only got below 50 minutes once so far
I always find act 1 the hardest. It can very much depend on what skill you use. If you are using a skill that is tough to level with it will naturally take longer. Knowing the build, tree and what links you need is probably the best way to cut down time

@@panzerswineflu If you want to get much faster in Act 1, I would recommend watching TyTyKiller runs. You don't need to do all the crazy stuff he does like allocating his passives while killing monsters and eating a sandwich (I don't) but if you watch how he navigates and whatnot, it'll give you ideas on what you need to practice. I cut my Act 1 times to low 20s just by doing that.

I can't figure out how he's surviving mud flats. It looks like he's standing still throwing mines but not getting charged and stun locked
@@panzerswineflu He puts a chest piece on just for mud flats. It helps immensely with not getting stunlocked. Stormblast is all about positioning and may be a bit more advanced for a newer player.
There are 2 main things for the mudflats that I do:
1) Learn the layouts (balaar has a great video on this).
2) For each Rhoa mound, approach it from an angle and move in circles. Basically I circle over to the mound and click it to drop the quest item but keep circling and don't pick it up (as I'm shooting the rhoas). If you try to pick it up right after you reveal it, you'll like get hit. I only pick it up on the 2nd or 3rd circle I make (depending on how much I've thinned them out). This allows me to get through without using a chest piece but it's a bit slower than what TyTy does.
Here's a tip for you =) Slice your videos into chapters that can be seen on the damn timeline.

Why no timestamps?
I don’t do time stamps on top 10 videos because people skip important stuff and then ask questions about the stuff they skipped.

Nice logic to punish your entire viewer base because few people skipped your videos. Goodluck on your content farm.
@@Cabono31 if I think videos need timestamps I provide them which is evident in most my guides. If people don’t want to give up 11 mins to potentially shave hours off their campaign then that’s their choice. If I do timestamps people just read the time stamps and think they know everything. They then come back and say I followed your tips and stopped killing monsters and only took dps on the tree and it didn’t work and now my character can’t finish the campaign.
If you don’t like my videos don’t watch them I really couldn’t give a shit it’s a hobby not a job

if any new player sees this, these tips are not for you. telling new players to not cap their res and take damage instead of life isnt gonna give you a good experience
I've generally found that for me, Level 30 or so is when it starts being worth it to take life (and I set up my tree to take life exclusively starting at ~30 until I have all the nearby life). Damage is very high value early on (10% increased damage is like 5% more damage in Act 1) whereas life nodes are super low value early because you are getting 5-6% of a very tiny base. In Acts 1-2, focusing mostly on life might mean you can take 1-2 more hits in total but focusing on damage would mean you can 3x or more your damage.
This video is not really aimed at brand new players since they do not even know how to complete the campaign let alone need to be more efficient.
I don't say don't worry about resists I say if you are 50%+ and have no open suffixes to craft do not waste time grinding zones repeatedly to cap your resistances. I also recommend using purity of elements if you do want resistances.
Damage over life will give you a lot less deaths early on. Life scales extremely poorly early on and damage scales way better. Killing a monster in half the time is going to result in less deaths than having bad damage but life and also results in quicker levelling. If you use your life flask when you take a hit even on low life there is very little that can one shot you in the campaign that is not telegraphed

I hate. Hate! The story mode in this game. I have literally quit leagues because of it. Give the people another option...
Unfortunately I don’t this this will ever happen. GGG have been pretty clear they deem the campaign as mandatory for every character
i honestly think its kinda stupid that people treat videogames like work. Who cares how fast or slow someone get to maps? Its a 3-4 month league
For a lot of people it is their job 😁but I know what you mean. Some people love end game, mapping and building characters which happens after maps so it can be handy to get through the campaign as quickly as possible. It can also be fun to try and speed run and beat your own times.

What if you are a new player and took too long to level or want to play a different build. One size doesn't fit all. People want explanations as to why to do certain things.
