Yes, you kind of need to spend money on this game for the convenience of it BUT until you have played the game to know what and how you want to play it. Delve unironically made me play maps as a new player. I wanted to delve but needed to map and needed to do my atlas progression so that I can delve and eventually that made me actually enjoy mapping as well. Slept on mechanic imo, and pretty easy for smooth brain 15 IQ new players like myself.
I've been delving with a righteous fire inquisitor and it's a match made in heaven. Super tanky, and even if you can't get 100% phasing uptime you can just shield charge through the mobs. I had previously tried it with a tornado shot build and RF takes literally less than half the time per run because of the passive area damage. Great fun, and I haven't found any other activity that can make so much currency with no investment (outside of gearing up for a high health pool).
It might also be worth noting, that because of the removal of the Lighthouse map from the Atlas, the Redblade node in Delve could be a consistent way of generating Redblade Banners. While not a super high ticket item, its still in demand for a decent number of builds and its availability is lower this league.
i would actually say that its ok to continue upgrading flare duration and everything about dynamite just because these things actually have a maximum value to them, for example maximum flare duration is 24s, its not that expensive really
Last league I tried deep delving and I was so surprised how consistent the income was for me. I could finally try crafting +2 amulets, +2 wands and was so happy I could finally be able to do expensive crafting methods like "suffixes/prefixes cannot be changed". Thanks for motivating me trying Delve! Playing delve I found a cool tip I used often but didn't see it any of the devle videos: When you finish a node and there are a lot of mosters around you can use the crawler shortcut (when map opens) "Mine Emcampment" to quickly get out of danger as this area is also loaded in memory. Usually the teleportation is super quick.
Played manabond to like 750 depth two leagues ago, first time I could afford mageblood. Though that build has become quite a lot expensive. I tend rotate league mechanics, have not played delve since, maybe it is time to get back in.
Figured I'd ask a delve expert their opinion - I'm running a hexblast sabatour and I'm concerned that it will not be tanky enough to dive deep into the depths. The dmg is pretty nutty, and I'm blowing things up. I'm only on floor 112. I'm thinking I need to lvl up a tankier build so I wont run into limitations while delving. I'm thinking boneshatter or corrupting fever. What do you think?
Do you have a video or strategy on how you descend to your target depth? For instance, do you just go straight down only veering to get enough azurite, or do you grab other nodes along the way, and whe/why? Thanks for the vids.
There is a vid in the description with a more detailed delve guide but it's as simple as just keep pushing down. Theres no particular strategy to do that as delve is rng for everyone.

Great video, only thing I think is missing are some build recommendations of delve characters, so people know what kind of characters they can make if they want to specialize into delving.
Realistically you could delve on any build. If you want a more specialized builds its going to be lots of regen and a tanky build, and you can just ignore range basically
Did you watch the video? He said evasion builds are sketchy and are realistically only playable up to depth 250 or so. He recommended high armor high regen builds for optimal gameplay. This sounds like build recommendations to me.

Sure if you are fairly experienced player you can figure out what build to use just from knowing it has to be tanky and preferebly armor based, but I don't think that information is very useful for beginner type players because they have no idea how to build a character or know which one is optimal to choose and they can end up hating delve for that reason.
As soemone coming in new to delving, is it worth it to check the random off shoots/side rooms from paths for fossils, or should I just be looking for them on the map?

I LOVE DELVE. i wasnt super crazy about mapping when i got to it. I just started a month ago and was kinda sad to see mapping was the end game. When i stumbled across delve i was so happy, i find it challenging and profitable. Where this is only my first character, i can only go to about 215 depth as of right now but im loving the idea of making a delve build next season and going hard in the mines
The more you play and the more you make builds for Delve, you will end up just running huge tanks through everything haha. Delve makes players better at balancing defenses generally.
small tips for people who want to give it a go : - rampage is insane in delve in early league. It's very easy to stack several hundreds even cap at 1000, making sure you have the dps and a few additional bonus like minions, corpse explosions.. - most common damage type and often the most deadly are cold (cold snap on death effect) and the shrieking bats are lightning. Fire damage monsters are usually more telegraphed and easy to avoid. Any kind of higher res for those elements or damage conversion like tempered for war/divine flesh/incandescent heart will make it a lot easier to manage. - chaos is not very common as a damage type, however a few monsters (in the zombies nodes) have some nasty ground chaos effect. - when you reach levels of delve with modifiers, the most difficult mods to tackle usually are : elemental penetration, added crit, physical as extra.
I love watching these delve videos. I love Delve and kind of wish more people we give it an honest go. I only play SSF, so my views are definitely skewed, but Delving is like Mapping without all the knobs to twist and turn. Really lets me turn most my brain off and just dig.
@aesthet1c33 Expedition, specifically Tujen, is almost too reliable for currencies, for sure. If you haven't been a fan, the new Atlas with just one big explosion makes the mechanic much faster to do. Essences are invaluable for crafting early, and pretty much forever in SSF. Just maybe skip the "Essences have a chance to contain 3 extra" or whatever node, as those monsters become absolute brickhouses.Brickhouse. After those, it's usually dealers choice or whatever mechanic you might need for your current/future builds or just think is fun/want to try out. The classic shrines and boxes nodes are easy and don't require any extra effort and the new Schism Legion node makes looking for incubators for six links easier on a lot of builds. This is all just from my experience, so do take with a grain of salt. But I would also say that Beyond and Breach are particularly lackluster, unless you know exactly what you need from them and can roll maps well. Not as great for alch and go.

Jorgen dude I try Delve, I spend so much damn time getting down to around 200+ where the descent enough shit is. It's like another full series of maps to get to the meat. I land a descent enough amount of goods, it just doesn't seen to set the world on fire at least for me. Last league I started blasting Blighted Maps, those Golden pils were selling like crazy. With the nerf to vengeant Cascade that may not work as well this league. So I'm just watching again to make sure there wasn't a mechanic I missed.

His deep leveling in delve video was interesting, I'll be going deep delving myself this league myself with twin nebs boneshatter, so I'll be able to compare to what he's noted in his vids on the profit at which depths as well.
I like the concept of Delve, but I usually prefer to play with only the mouse and having to keybind the flare/bomb just for delve is kinda of off putting. Wish I can just click on the skills bar and have the flare/bomb drop at my character location.
May I recommend an mmo gaming mouse? It has 12 keys on the side. Feels amazing to use in poe, I have flasks and auxiliary leagues bound to various keys on it :)
I do have a question: This league, I played a a Cyclone Shockwave Champion who I thought should be pretty cranky (5.2k unreserved life, 80k armor, 20 Fortification, good uptime on 5 endurance charges, 81/79/79/60 resistances), and yet still sometimes I would be instagibbed while delving at around 200-250 depth and I could never figure why. I had maxed darkness resistance and max light radius, and would be going alongside the crawler (so no deaths due to unflared darkness), and get something got to one shot me. Apparently it wasn't anything with crazy Archnemesis mods (I checked every monster around me). Could have been something from the bats, or maybe those creeping frost crystals that seems to be everywhere on Delve and deal huge damage, but I'm not sure. It really swore me off Delving after I reached level 98 because I was frequently getting reset to 0% exp (and Delve isnt necessarily the best EXP accruing method). Do you have any idea what could be causing those deaths? Thanks in advance, man.
whats your curse resistance at, a few curses drop your resistance by a lot and get you one shot, a good way to avoid this is to get at least 90-120% res
Im not a complete noob when it comes to this game but i always struggle with the end game and making money (progressing the build). Im wanting to try a Kinetic Blast + Corrupting Fever + Reap Champion this league. Would that be suited to playing delve as my end game strategy?
You defs want to go after fractured walls. But they are not their own mechanic, to get to the stuff I mention you will need to hit fractured walls as you go
About how far does boneshatter generally go before it ends up needing to swap from 2h to 1h+shield? Im a newer player and finally got around to trying delve out and love it. Currently my boneshatter is at 28m dps 464k ehp 100k armour sustainable trauma at 79 and 80% all res, did melee range tattoos so boneshatter is at 4m but unsure if i should keep them or swap to armour tattoos atm. Just not sure if/when id need to swap, still climbing down but im at around 520 depth without much issues and want to aim for 650-800s to farm.
for me it only crashes if I zoom out the delve mini map, and GGG knows about it, too. It's all over the forum bug report area. And I'm not the only one ingame either, one friend can't even interact with the delve map at all or it crashes, so I just invite him along and we do it that way.

1. Yes, you can directly buy resonators with azurite and they are highly liquid. 2. Darkness farming is a Strat, I don't cover it off but there is a cheap raider build you can run to do darkness run loops

ive always played 6 portal builds which tend to suck in delve and by the time in league i get to tanky ones it just dosent make sense from a money making perspective to do delve 100 or something, this league im gonna go tank with TR pathfinder so will try delve to start

You defs can hit monsters in the dark and leech. You can't damage then but you can leech and life on hit against them. Roa champ should be ok, plenty of armour will keep you alive

I feel like it's really disingenuous to mention things like the Auls, and their pricing .. when you can clearly see they have been sitting there on trade for 2 days to 2 months. It's like telling people you can make 5 div an hour doing a strategy .. and 80% of that value is miscellaneous item's that are super time consuming and hard to sell, or impossible like low tier essences being regarded as 1c a piece that you will never sell. Or require someone to be desperate enough to message you weeks after you listed you're very niche item. The acquisition of items is good to know, but more so is converting those items into realistic currency avenues. And being honest with the additional time investment required to offload those things in trades .. which can easily double the amount of time just getting them in the first place.
How would a boneshatter slayer work for delve? I was thinking of doing that to transition to tainted pact golden rule boneshatter. do you think that would work well? thank you for the videos!

one really big ticket you have forgotten to mentioned are fractured bases with fractured delve mods. Thats easy 10 div each up to much more. GGG should have buffed the abysal lich. With the really nice atlas keystones coming this league it makes Delve even less profitable. Delve needs big chungus builds with good damage but these will be even harder to get without crucible passives and even right now, while i did enjoy delving for sure i am pretty sure that my profits blasting a map that can drop mageblood div cards i would have made much more profit. With the atlas buffs coming i feel like Delve will be barely able to compete, yet this might make the delve drops so expensive it might be worth again. Pretty sure below depth 600 its not going be worth it anymore. I might run only the buff node from delve and blow throught the passivly created sulphite as a bit of a change of pace. On the other hand i think blasting Alve temples combined with non running out delirium for 1 div for 4 maps on avarage selling corrupts will be better profit. Delve needs some minor overhaul or they should have given us some crazy passive keystone for it or ffs finally remove the long as fuck invuln phases on azurite bosses, thats so mind numbingly boring to wait for the dragon the fly around....... Also getting another contenter for side content in the form of Sanctum further makes life hard for delve. Sanctum has better rewards, is faster and is honestly more fun as well. Heist is better rewards as well but thats atleast boring as fuck.
I was jazzed to try deep delving but then I realized theres only around 3-4 different occultist CI builds you can even make viable. And even then every single one of them requires aegis aurora. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but to someone like me who values variety it is. It basically comes down to: Forbidden rite, Ice spear, Detonate dead, vortex, and maaaaaybe two other niche outliers, and thats it. Sadly the armor/regen requirements pigeonhole you into a very small handful of builds with no deviation possible ... (there may be random niche workarounds but they require huge investment) so yeah .. I want to hit depth 600 so badly but it's just a huge disappointment to me personally when I can't make my own builds viable.
The only builds that truly can’t deep delve are permanent minion builds as far as I understand because they don’t share your darkness resistance (could be wrong on that). If you are playing evasion you can get evasion and spell suppressed cap, 100 percent phys to ele conversion, and blind either on hit or aura. It’s just if you are playing a build not designed to delve you are going to have to spend a lot of currency on defenses, as is mentioned in the video.
@@michaelscott2093 I respectfully disagree, but also maybe we have different definitions of "deep" delve. Looking at poe ninja ONLY armor based of some kind builds ever make it to 600 or past that depth. The exception of course, is semi 0hp builds, which a small subset of people somehow still manage to make work, but I admit to not knowing how those function still when they were supposedly nerfed out of existence. They also seem to come exclusively from the korean/chinese side of POE. I don't know if they have a functionally different game in that aspect, as I do know they get things like loot pets that we do not.

@@johnturtle6649 they work because they learn node layouts I think. There was a discord server out there somewhere with pics of all the different areas you can one shot and I mean it’s because of how much easier it is to delve with a build designed for it I’m just saying you can make yourself immortal in delve as long as you have some sort of way of dealing with darkness dot. There are a lot of options some of them are just expensive. Like for example you can create a similar effect to boneshatter jugg with Cwdt and recoup you just need to make sure your regen is high enough. You can survive it. Like for example Manabond is an example of a build that pretty low standard defenses compared to jugg defenses but the way it’s designed on splitting damage across mana and es and it’s insane regen capabilities it can dive pretty deep. You can make builds that do it and you have option but they are just harder than armor based juggs and inquisitors so people just don’t do it. That’s all I’m saying.
DELVE IS AMAZING EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY IT!!!

So what about really early on, do you make a bunch of low depth delves because your light radius and darkness resist are kind of awful?
Anywhere between level 75-85. I usually just get my build working etc first

Great video, only thing I think is missing are some build recommendations of delve characters, so people know what kind of characters they can make if they want to specialize into delving.
Realistically you could delve on any build. If you want a more specialized builds its going to be lots of regen and a tanky build, and you can just ignore range basically
Did you watch the video? He said evasion builds are sketchy and are realistically only playable up to depth 250 or so. He recommended high armor high regen builds for optimal gameplay. This sounds like build recommendations to me.
@@Kuposaur Right, but this video is also aimed at beginners. Sure if you are fairly experienced player you can figure out what build to use just from knowing it has to be tanky and preferebly armor based, but I don't think that information is very useful for beginner type players because they have no idea how to build a character or know which one is optimal to choose and they can end up hating delve for that reason.

I LOVE DELVE. i wasnt super crazy about mapping when i got to it. I just started a month ago and was kinda sad to see mapping was the end game. When i stumbled across delve i was so happy, i find it challenging and profitable. Where this is only my first character, i can only go to about 215 depth as of right now but im loving the idea of making a delve build next season and going hard in the mines
The more you play and the more you make builds for Delve, you will end up just running huge tanks through everything haha. Delve makes players better at balancing defenses generally.

@@DeivixLV nah, zhp was many many leagues ago. Now they use Phys to fire conversion and fully mitigate fire. Very expensive approach

small tips for people who want to give it a go :
- rampage is insane in delve in early league. It's very easy to stack several hundreds even cap at 1000, making sure you have the dps and a few additional bonus like minions, corpse explosions..
- most common damage type and often the most deadly are cold (cold snap on death effect) and the shrieking bats are lightning. Fire damage monsters are usually more telegraphed and easy to avoid. Any kind of higher res for those elements or damage conversion like tempered for war/divine flesh/incandescent heart will make it a lot easier to manage.
- chaos is not very common as a damage type, however a few monsters (in the zombies nodes) have some nasty ground chaos effect.
- when you reach levels of delve with modifiers, the most difficult mods to tackle usually are : elemental penetration, added crit, physical as extra.
I love watching these delve videos. I love Delve and kind of wish more people we give it an honest go. I only play SSF, so my views are definitely skewed, but Delving is like Mapping without all the knobs to twist and turn. Really lets me turn most my brain off and just dig.
Recommended league mechanic/content/farm for ssf? Just started play last week
@aesthet1c33 Expedition, specifically Tujen, is almost too reliable for currencies, for sure. If you haven't been a fan, the new Atlas with just one big explosion makes the mechanic much faster to do.
Essences are invaluable for crafting early, and pretty much forever in SSF. Just maybe skip the "Essences have a chance to contain 3 extra" or whatever node, as those monsters become absolute brickhouses.Brickhouse.
After those, it's usually dealers choice or whatever mechanic you might need for your current/future builds or just think is fun/want to try out.
The classic shrines and boxes nodes are easy and don't require any extra effort and the new Schism Legion node makes looking for incubators for six links easier on a lot of builds.
This is all just from my experience, so do take with a grain of salt. But I would also say that Beyond and Breach are particularly lackluster, unless you know exactly what you need from them and can roll maps well. Not as great for alch and go.

Jorgen dude I try Delve, I spend so much damn time getting down to around 200+ where the descent enough shit is. It's like another full series of maps to get to the meat. I land a descent enough amount of goods, it just doesn't seen to set the world on fire at least for me.
Last league I started blasting Blighted Maps, those Golden pils were selling like crazy. With the nerf to vengeant Cascade that may not work as well this league. So I'm just watching again to make sure there wasn't a mechanic I missed.
If you push to 350 its much more profitable and Aul farming is big currency if you sell them unID'd

I like the concept of Delve, but I usually prefer to play with only the mouse and having to keybind the flare/bomb just for delve is kinda of off putting. Wish I can just click on the skills bar and have the flare/bomb drop at my character location.
May I recommend an mmo gaming mouse? It has 12 keys on the side. Feels amazing to use in poe, I have flasks and auxiliary leagues bound to various keys on it :)

I do have a question:
This league, I played a a Cyclone Shockwave Champion who I thought should be pretty cranky (5.2k unreserved life, 80k armor, 20 Fortification, good uptime on 5 endurance charges, 81/79/79/60 resistances), and yet still sometimes I would be instagibbed while delving at around 200-250 depth and I could never figure why. I had maxed darkness resistance and max light radius, and would be going alongside the crawler (so no deaths due to unflared darkness), and get something got to one shot me. Apparently it wasn't anything with crazy Archnemesis mods (I checked every monster around me). Could have been something from the bats, or maybe those creeping frost crystals that seems to be everywhere on Delve and deal huge damage, but I'm not sure. It really swore me off Delving after I reached level 98 because I was frequently getting reset to 0% exp (and Delve isnt necessarily the best EXP accruing method). Do you have any idea what could be causing those deaths? Thanks in advance, man.
whats your curse resistance at, a few curses drop your resistance by a lot and get you one shot, a good way to avoid this is to get at least 90-120% res
abyss boss also can drop 2abys slot gloves, now with spirit stacker build are fairly expensive.
Im not a complete noob when it comes to this game but i always struggle with the end game and making money (progressing the build). Im wanting to try a Kinetic Blast + Corrupting Fever + Reap Champion this league. Would that be suited to playing delve as my end game strategy?
Yeah should go ok, just as long as you have some decent defensive layers in the build

You defs want to go after fractured walls. But they are not their own mechanic, to get to the stuff I mention you will need to hit fractured walls as you go

About how far does boneshatter generally go before it ends up needing to swap from 2h to 1h+shield? Im a newer player and finally got around to trying delve out and love it. Currently my boneshatter is at 28m dps 464k ehp 100k armour sustainable trauma at 79 and 80% all res, did melee range tattoos so boneshatter is at 4m but unsure if i should keep them or swap to armour tattoos atm. Just not sure if/when id need to swap, still climbing down but im at around 520 depth without much issues and want to aim for 650-800s to farm.

Yeah, we can't zoom out ATM. The last engine patch messed something up
for me it only crashes if I zoom out the delve mini map, and GGG knows about it, too. It's all over the forum bug report area. And I'm not the only one ingame either, one friend can't even interact with the delve map at all or it crashes, so I just invite him along and we do it that way.

1. Yes, you can directly buy resonators with azurite and they are highly liquid.
2. Darkness farming is a Strat, I don't cover it off but there is a cheap raider build you can run to do darkness run loops

You mentioned that Doryani's Machinarium is needed for Map Completion. It was removed from the Atlas in 3.18.

The video was very informative and I'll definitely be starting with delve. I have never touched delve before so I'm a complete first timer. I hope not having a delve tab won't make my life miserable though. I assume spark would do pretty decent so I hope it'll be smooth sailing.
You should be ok without a delve tab initially 🙂. And yeah, spark goes well in delve

Yeah, don't waste your time on currency nodes, it's there to throw you off the real profit and waste your sulphite

It would work, but there are better builds for delve. Boneshatter is perfect for delving
Also keep in mind it can take a week or 2 before the fossil and resonator market starts to escalate as well. Depends on builds, crafting needs etc.

ive always played 6 portal builds which tend to suck in delve and by the time in league i get to tanky ones it just dosent make sense from a money making perspective to do delve 100 or something, this league im gonna go tank with TR pathfinder so will try delve to start

Usually they're just in you path. They spawn more at lower depths

You defs can hit monsters in the dark and leech. You can't damage then but you can leech and life on hit against them.
Roa champ should be ok, plenty of armour will keep you alive

I feel like it's really disingenuous to mention things like the Auls, and their pricing .. when you can clearly see they have been sitting there on trade for 2 days to 2 months. It's like telling people you can make 5 div an hour doing a strategy .. and 80% of that value is miscellaneous item's that are super time consuming and hard to sell, or impossible like low tier essences being regarded as 1c a piece that you will never sell. Or require someone to be desperate enough to message you weeks after you listed you're very niche item.
The acquisition of items is good to know, but more so is converting those items into realistic currency avenues. And being honest with the additional time investment required to offload those things in trades .. which can easily double the amount of time just getting them in the first place.
I find selling them unidentified moves them quicker for the gamblers
It's also literal end of league. There's little to no market action at this time.

yeah, slayer will work, though if you leech drops you die. Jugg is a bit better for delve in my opinion. but both are viable

hmm, TR isn't great for delve because of tight quarters, you can defs try and push to that depth though

one really big ticket you have forgotten to mentioned are fractured bases with fractured delve mods. Thats easy 10 div each up to much more.
GGG should have buffed the abysal lich. With the really nice atlas keystones coming this league it makes Delve even less profitable.
Delve needs big chungus builds with good damage but these will be even harder to get without crucible passives and even right now, while i did enjoy delving for sure i am pretty sure that my profits blasting a map that can drop mageblood div cards i would have made much more profit.
With the atlas buffs coming i feel like Delve will be barely able to compete, yet this might make the delve drops so expensive it might be worth again. Pretty sure below depth 600 its not going be worth it anymore. I might run only the buff node from delve and blow throught the passivly created sulphite as a bit of a change of pace. On the other hand i think blasting Alve temples combined with non running out delirium for 1 div for 4 maps on avarage selling corrupts will be better profit.
Delve needs some minor overhaul or they should have given us some crazy passive keystone for it or ffs finally remove the long as fuck invuln phases on azurite bosses, thats so mind numbingly boring to wait for the dragon the fly around....... Also getting another contenter for side content in the form of Sanctum further makes life hard for delve. Sanctum has better rewards, is faster and is honestly more fun as well. Heist is better rewards as well but thats atleast boring as fuck.

I was jazzed to try deep delving but then I realized theres only around 3-4 different occultist CI builds you can even make viable. And even then every single one of them requires aegis aurora. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but to someone like me who values variety it is. It basically comes down to: Forbidden rite, Ice spear, Detonate dead, vortex, and maaaaaybe two other niche outliers, and thats it. Sadly the armor/regen requirements pigeonhole you into a very small handful of builds with no deviation possible ... (there may be random niche workarounds but they require huge investment) so yeah .. I want to hit depth 600 so badly but it's just a huge disappointment to me personally when I can't make my own builds viable.
dude, sort poe ninja by depth and check out how many builds can get quite far: boneshatter, cremation, mana heiro, RF, DD, doom PF, spark
The only builds that truly can’t deep delve are permanent minion builds as far as I understand because they don’t share your darkness resistance (could be wrong on that). If you are playing evasion you can get evasion and spell suppressed cap, 100 percent phys to ele conversion, and blind either on hit or aura. It’s just if you are playing a build not designed to delve you are going to have to spend a lot of currency on defenses, as is mentioned in the video.
@@michaelscott2093 I respectfully disagree, but also maybe we have different definitions of "deep" delve. Looking at poe ninja ONLY armor based of some kind builds ever make it to 600 or past that depth. The exception of course, is semi 0hp builds, which a small subset of people somehow still manage to make work, but I admit to not knowing how those function still when they were supposedly nerfed out of existence. They also seem to come exclusively from the korean/chinese side of POE. I don't know if they have a functionally different game in that aspect, as I do know they get things like loot pets that we do not.

@@johnturtle6649 they work because they learn node layouts I think. There was a discord server out there somewhere with pics of all the different areas you can one shot and I mean it’s because of how much easier it is to delve with a build designed for it I’m just saying you can make yourself immortal in delve as long as you have some sort of way of dealing with darkness dot. There are a lot of options some of them are just expensive. Like for example you can create a similar effect to boneshatter jugg with Cwdt and recoup you just need to make sure your regen is high enough. You can survive it. Like for example Manabond is an example of a build that pretty low standard defenses compared to jugg defenses but the way it’s designed on splitting damage across mana and es and it’s insane regen capabilities it can dive pretty deep. You can make builds that do it and you have option but they are just harder than armor based juggs and inquisitors so people just don’t do it. That’s all I’m saying.
