    One thing to remember about the tyrannids. There was once a psyker that peered into the hive mind and lived, and from what he saw, he could tell that the hive mind was incredibly intelligent and the hive mind COULD communicate with humanity if it wanted to, but that it never would because the hive mind was brewing with an unquenchable hatred.

    Old One Eye and tyranid rippers: *growling in hunger and murderous intent*
    Vulkan: *Jamaican accent* “I would like to pet this creature.”
    Also He, Red Terror, the one Tyranid licktor that went predator and spared a guy to break his mind; the Deathleaper I believe, the Norm Queen, Doom of Malanti that killed an entire Eldar craftworld, Parasite of Mortex, the Malanthrope, Ygnarl genestealers, Genestealer Khaine, and the lost Swarmlord that got cut off from the Hivemind and seeks to return to it, among other such Tyranids should return as special characters for tabletop.

    Honestly, the Nyds are probably the only species that could unite the entire galaxy into a single force. Chaos needs souls to feed so they’d have to fight em to survive and everyone else wouldn’t want to be eaten. Orks just would think it’d be the biggest scrap of all time.
    Then, when the Nyds are goo, everyone immediately turns on each other in classic Warhammer fashion.

    The Tyranids may think itself as the apex predator in it's section of the virgo supercluster that is until it encounters something else.
    Tyranid Hivemind: "I will consume everything in this galaxy!"
    *(A Gigastructure Mothership with a black hole surrounded by several gigastructure sized rings orbiting it alongside a escorting Fleet of solar sized ships enter the Milky Way through the Halo Stars)*
    Blokkats: "Here's *JOHNNY!"*

      The Tyranids bring the universe closer to entropy, and to the nanite super dimensional kitties, all life forms are just fluctuations of energy levels against the backdrop of cosmic filament.

      Well I wouldn't be certain that is needed at all. The Gravemind is already multiple levels more smarter and cunning and capably resourceful then the Tyranid Hivemind. It may be overconfident at times when it thinks victory is all but assured with what variables it knows in it's knowledge which I wouldn't blame it for being confident because it crushed all the oppositional militaries and defenses that it encountered and overcame them.
      The Tyranid Hivemind is really unneeded as it lacks the indepth creativity and comprehensive awareness that Gravemind does.
      The ways the Gravemind thinks it uses every resource it can get it's hands on and uses them to maximum effectiveness including weapon systems, technology, logistics, combined arms strageies, and productive infrastructure. If it sees them it's target those strageic resources and take them. It's a competent Overmind which is different from a hivemind that doesn't need the instinctual reactive Tyranid Hivemind to assimilate an entire galaxy. It nearly succeeded on it's own the first recorded time it emerged against a extremely advance powerful empire.
      And the Gravemind was very good at adaptive tactics to countering their own advance countermeasures and knew the mindsets of individuals and to manipulate or interrogate them.

    Oh yay a instance where they said: "Hey the Imperium has all these enemies, LETS MAKE ANOTHER ONE THAT'S WORSE"! Also stock the Raid.

    If the Tyranids tried to invade a galaxy where the factions can casually bulid massive gigastructures & terrastructures casually the Tyranid Hivemind would soon realize it bite more then it could realistically chew on somethings bigger, more numerous, and powerful then it's tendrils. If they were to do that with a galaxy like Star Ruler the Hivemind will be having a galactic sized ship ramming it's main body into pasted particles.
    And against something like the mecha Getter Emperor they better run away while they still have a headstart before it gets bigger and never stops growing.
    There even another lifeform in a series that has detached from Doctor Who called Faction Paradox. A entire kind of creature that views average universes like tiny bubbles in the void ocean it and it's kind swims in. They are called Leviathans they are bigger then even the biggest mecha in Japan and not many people know about them since they are not aware of Faction Paradox. But rest assured Faction Paradox is a very powerful verse with it's own small mixture of dark fantasy sprinkled into it's narrative.

    I wonder how much effort the Forerunners from the Halo series need to put in to defeat the Tyranids.

    • @nymbattheeternal1279
      @nymbattheeternal1279 2 місяці тому +2

      Probably plenty of effort. But unlike the flood, there should be no need of any Halo rings.

    • @thorshammer7883
      @thorshammer7883 2 місяці тому

      @@teoteous
      The Tyranid Hivemind lacks the rapid hyper competence, intelligence, intuition, and indepth tactical initiative and comprehension the Gravemind had. It's not a as good and capable commander like the Precursor behind the Gravemind is, and lacks the literacy of judging and knowing it's opponents properly and focuses most on reactive adaptive swarm tactics and doesn't understand how to fight a very advanced technological empire of 3 million worlds whose ftl, communication networks, military industrial infrastructure, databases, weapon systems, and their Imperial military and societal doctrine allows their ability to be flexible and research projects being astronomically more difficult then the Imperium Of Man ever was. The Forerunners capability of building powerful area of effect super weapons and regular weapons will make the Tyranids invasion of the galaxy extremely costly especially with how slow Tyranid fleets move and their reliance on certain bioships to travel in their version of Ftl making them very easy targets for Forerunner fleets to use combined arms and hit and run tactics amd hybrid options to cripple Tyranids tendrils slow movements.
      The Tyranid Hivemind would have to consolidate and attack in all areas of the galaxy and even then the loss of Bioships will be massive. If the Halo Rings can kill them imagine how many Tyranid Bioships would become lifeless with the different Halos range and direction of attacks.
      The Flood knew the importance of strageic intelligence and it's rapid assimilating of organic life made it very lethal at it's efficient in it's goals.
      The Tyranid Hivemind lacks these fundamental aspects Gravemind and the Flood physiology had.

      @@teoteous
      The Forerunners technology assets, availability, capabilities, capacity, industrial output, population manpower, naval fleets, armies, defense networks, database record keeping, ftl and communication flexibility, robotic armies, and science weapons development branches would make them a astronomical more difficult then the entire Warhammer 40k galaxy. Unlike the Flood the Tyranid Hivemind is a reactive beast while their psychology doesn't allow them to be as capable or as quick as the Gravemind was and their ftl travel is very slow.
      The Tyranid Hivemind is going to lose so many tendrils the only way for it to have a chance to win is to consolidate it's hivefleets and surround the galaxy on all omni dimension directions and attack all at once before the Forerunner Empire develop Halo base super weapons with a extremely long range and even then this is going to be extremely difficult with no room for error or laid-back because the Forerunners are a proactive competent empire unlike the Imperium of Man while being far more self supportive in all logistic fronts. The Tyranid invasion must not make any critical failures open up and capitalized on by Forerunner military forces and individuals.

    I was running the distraction carnefex with a D&D 3.5 lizardfolk monk. This guy was fast, tanky and bitey. If you ignored him for one round, he was munching on your squishiy in the next.
    For the point of lacking individuality I would argue that the hive should be swarming with personality. Atleast the synaps creatured deserve as much personality as, lets say Zagara.
    Ther could even be a series with the Lictorn (same-ish personality, diferent instances) hunting and fighting high value targets behind enemy lines. And with diferent levels of success. I would enjoy storrys showing the lifes of midd ranked guardsman from a stalkers perspective, ending with the conclusion to swich target to his comanding officer.

    As a star wars fan I Wish we had are own version of the war in heaven and if the yuuzhan vong Ever appear in Star wars again Even if it's another time line I really want them To have an upgrade
    ( have a zerg like army and have The biology of the kroot )

    • @Azorees-oj5zr
      @Azorees-oj5zr 2 місяці тому +2

      Mate, the Yuuzhan Vong were plenty powerful enough and having a Zerglike army would be a downgrade because it takes away from the uniqueness of the Yuuzhan.
      And why would you want the Yuuzhan to have the biology of the Kroot? They already possess the ability to just take the organs from other species and add them to themselves.

    • @thorshammer7883
      @thorshammer7883 2 місяці тому

      I think the Yuuzhan Vong would be great rivals to Dark Eldar while being a superior military power. However they are way too stagnant when it comes to military weaponry even more so then the Imperium to some degree. Though they proven they are rather ruthless, manipulative, navally fast, and competent at bringing maximum effective damage to the EU galaxy their defeat was all but assured as they couldn't fight everyone at the same time with their low manpower and lack of industry to manufacture their fleets against a very flexiable, mobile, and indepthly rich densely populated galaxy of a 100 quadrillion beings. They chose the wrong war to rage.
      Logistically there was no way they could win a direct total war no matter how many planets they destroyed in their current state. Original Luke, his faithful allies, and his Jedi Order's united Coalition's victory was a inevitability in ultimatum the Yuuzhan Vong aggessively doubled down pushing themselves into.
      In Warhammer 40k where FTL and communication is very rigidly slow, disorganized, rigidly ineffective, and monopolized into centralized government institutions and if the Yuuzhan Vong are immune to the Warp's effects being similar properties and effects of blanks I can see the Yuuzhan Vong surviving for a very long time. Enough to settle down somewhere in the systems between the voids outside Imperium territory to develop trading centers. Their ships are provide much better speed then the Imperium can muster and definitely faster then Tyranid space travel.
