actually not that hard to believe. just imagine ur a necron overlord, getting awake and finding urself with just a few warriors in ur pyramide and the planet is completly full of orks... then keeping the humans (and let them think they are in control) is actually genius. the orcs only know they die in the pyramide and the humans are a perfect buffer. so the necrons can do what the do best, wait for a better time to act (probably when the rest of them awake). if the orcs would know there is just a small necron force, they could and would probably overrun them in a mass assault

I wish there were more settings like this in 40k. Post apocalyptic or abandoned worlds and things or so, could have a lot of cool models like renaissancelike savage pike men and handgunners fighting along side old tanks or makeshift fighting vehicles
I've done kitbashing and stuff like that. GW makes stuff for cheap and then sells it for 70× the production cost, Do you think I could probably make some chaos warband or cult groups with like scrapcars or something? I know the seige on vraks had civilian cars turned into armored vehicles and technicals brought there by the invading chaos bands.

I am in the camp that the overlord is senile like Nemesor Zahndrekh and thinks the Diggas are fellow Necrons who are allies and that the orks are Necron rebels.
You don't even need that, just that the Orks are devolved Krorks and an overlord that has memories from the War in the Heavens and that they might need more help after the damage done via impact of Space Hulk...
I think with the Necron lords now, or having sort of unique and weird personalities I could easily see one being quite amused with the humans and what’s going on his plate on a side note are you gonna talk about the other humans that mutated but still very Imperial?

I like the idea of a RTS game where you can either be orks or digganobz and you have to build up your warband, fight others and eventually take over the planet
