The Immolation scene? Really? I had no idea. But I've heard a recording from the late 1950's of her singing nothing less than Bach Jauchzet Gott. Her voice is almost unrecognizable. O.o
IMHO, Most of the good voices these days seem to be in baroque music (which I, as a huge baroque fan, most certainly don't mind). The time of great Verdi singers has passed. Let us hope that, in the future, there will be more of the likes of Horne and Scotto.
Says who? What technique! What interpretation! What diction! Rich lower register, ringing high notes and the middle isn't bad either. I hope you got that hearing aide that you certainly needed when this comment was originally posted.
Marcos
Renato Scotto and Marilyn Horne. A dream team of female voices. Where are all the great voices of to-day?
Just fabulous! Thank you so much for posting it! Could you post some more, please? Thanks in advance!
She has a record of Immolation scene, it's fantastic.

Renata Scotto
Is that Pav sitting behind her?
Yes, it was a TV Broadcast from RAI Italiana National TV and Luciano Pavarotti was part of the cast.
Good eye!

Boring. Fail.

8 years later and this comment is still as stupid as the sad day it was said.
