sunfyre is so small and it looks like he's not an experienced fighter. he just looks like a poor baby housecat getting mauled by a cougar 😭
Yap bro and it makes us understand how big Vaghar is and why she is the Dragon Queen of her era
Sunfyre has never fought other dragons before while Meleys has. He was known as the most beautiful dragon in Westeros until he flew to war for the first time.
@@dreamydonnoMeleys hasn't fought any dragon before neither... she's just a bigger and stronger dragon with more experience in flying and maneuverability. She hasn't even had that much war experience. Vhagar hasn't fought dragons either actually, she just fought in many wars, evaded scorpion bolts, destroyed ships, etc. But again, she's the bigger and stronger dragon and that's why she won. But she has much more experience in sneak attacking because she has to find ways to kill stuff in one grab, otherwise she won't eat. Meleys is still faster than stuff so she's more used to chasing. Sunfyre is just being fed😂
@@s8theninjawarrior916 oh, I know she is. 😂 I was excited to see her speed be used here and that eagle death drop she did on Vhagar was nice. I could have sworn Meleys fought dragons in a different time though but I could be confusing her with something else.
Caraxes and Daemon have the most experience when it comes to rider and dragon combo. Vhagar has the most experience when it comes down to only the dragons. Sunfyre has zero experience. Meleys has a little still not much more than Sunfyre. Rhaenys however has more flying experience than Aegon. Aegon’s also drunk.
Meyles is so damn fast that she bodied Sunfyre and then immediately fled the scene, avoiding Vhagar fire. Then, she rengaged by locking claws with Vhagar and then released and repositioned to catch the flight again. Meyles is my favorite dragon.
Though I wish they didn’t have Vhagar do a second stealth attack, I appreciated how they showcased Meleys strength throughout the battle (her incredibly speed and agility).
@@Glorfindelfan1234 It doesn't make sense to make a stealth from that position. Even Meleys was flying around before Vhagar able to getup from the fall.
The only way it would make sense is if Meleys attack with stealth but overpowered and killed by Vhagar.
I liked it overall but it was also a bit dumb cuz in the exact moment Vhagar hit the ground and Meleys flew up she could've just dracarys'd downward to burn Aemond alive lol. Wouldn't have killed Vhagar, but wouldn't need to - rendering it riderless would be enough considering Team Green had no other Targaryens without dragons, other than little baby Jaehaera 😅
The Red Queen is and Always will be my favorite. Apart from being the swiftest dragon in Westeros and going toe to toe with Vhagar and subsequently grounding her, her design is also unique and badass!! The color scheme also compliments it so well.
@@CASantos I'm not sure you could stop a seasoned war dragon like Vhagar mid-fight just by taking out her rider. Plus, it's obvious from previous interactions that Vhagar only ^kinda^ listens to Aemond.
Sunfyre is a baby going up against a champion of the skies... You can tell that golden dragon just was not ready for that fight at all.

@@beckyweiss6072 i genuinely winced whenever the dragons shrieked in pain. & when meleys looked back at rhaenys one last time??? i was sobbing
I like the theory that Sunfyre was from a breed of show dragons. We do know do l that Valyrians bred dragons for different purposes. It seems quite gentle and pretty when leaving the dragonpit with Aegon, and of course it's coloration. So not only was it not trained for this, it wasn't even bred for it either😭
This is why you don't start things you can't finish. The innocent generally pay the price.
@@vangu2918 I know Aegon is an ass but arguably Sunfyre and Aegon are innocent (and Meleys). Aegon is a pawn that doesn’t know how to handle himself, and his response to becoming aware of it is to send him and his dragon into battle- when both are grossly inexperienced.
I hope they show Aegon and Sunfyre’s bond in the show 😭 Sunfyre’s boop with his snoot was *adorable* and Aegon’s smile was the most genuine and gentle smile I’ve ever seen him have. I’ll admit Aegon in the show is everyone’s punching back while he’s also an ass. He needs his Sunfyre bonding 😭

We then have Vhagar the terminator age 💀
70+ years is a bit much, since Meleys is around 50-60, nut yeah still adult vs child

Meleys should have kept trying hit and run tactics, trying to burn one of Vhagar's wings off. Staying away from his talons and jaws. Or just fled when she had taken down Sunfyre and slightly injured Vhagar. Then came back with ALL of her dragons. Then again, might be best to wait for the dragonseeds.
Yeah I agree.....there's always a time when retreat is not a cowardice action. That's why in this case I prefer book version.
Even Deamon told her he can not take down Vhagar on his own and he need both of them to team up against Vhagar. She deciding to take on Vhagar on her own is foolish and suicidal. There is a reason why the brave men are the first to die in combat.
I think after injuring vhagar she could have gone back to dragonstone a full attack of meleys , syrax , vermax and moondancer would have done Great deals trust me if meleys alone was able to droppe that bitch add syrax , vermax and moondancer even the little would have counted 😂😂

And when Meleys attacked Vhagar, she looked like the sized of Sunfyre. Vhagar dwarfed her as she dwarfed Sunfyre.
Vhagar dwarfed her in size but not in a fight, Vhagar has to suprisingly attacked Melleys
@@mbwizax87yeah because Meleys was also old and a fully adult dragon! Only smaller and younger than Vhagar. A 70 years is old a 100 years is also old but a 19 years is too young. Age is advantage for dragons specially In their prime when they’ve still fast and strong. Sunfyre was like a teenager fighting with a granny. Also Vhagar did no surprise attack in the book the three of them were fighting each other and Vhagar fell down on the other two because of her heavy weight which killed Meleys.

Sunfyre's cries were heartbreaking, him a baby dragon up against the bigger Meleys and had to suffer a beating. And when Vhagar bites down Meley's neck and flew upwards with her, the smaller dragon i.e Meleys dangling like a helpless child, crying, looking one last time at Rhaenys. And thats not all in the next ep preview, being paraded around KL as a traitorous dragon, i just can't. I almost cried for real. Also i don't hate Vhagar, just let this war torn grandma retire now please. I can never hate the dragons. Meleys was playing with its food. Truly owned sunfyre
If there's anyone I feel truly bad for, it's Sunfyre. Both Vhagar and Meleys are experienced in battle. Sunfyre appeared to be as inexperienced as Aegon was. He was irresponsible in joining this battle with his dragon.
Aemond appears to be the villain of this episode. Not only did he kill Rhaenys and Meleys, he also tried to kill his brother. Twice. I hope Cristen Cole picked up on that and challenges Aemond.
Cole is just as shit as Aemond and gives 0 fucks about Aegon. I think the show will go in a direction of Aemond doing pretty much whatever he wants until Caraxes f's him and Vhagar up
This where the show got it wrong. In the book both Rhaenys and Meleys have absolutely no battle experience. They needed Rhaenys to say this in the show to make the fight between Meleys / Vhagar closer and more believable.
Sunfyre looked like a dragon unfit for battle. I imagine that an advanced empire like the Valyrian was supposed to be, practicality in dragons was something of utmost utility, so I suppose that there were not only dragons bred for war, there must also have been dragons for forced labor such as transporting materials and supplies, message delivery, construction, weapon forging and eccentricities such as speed and beauty competitions. I imagine that the aggressiveness and appearance that a dragon could have were decisive factors in these aspects, as well as the growth rate.
Sunfyre looked more like a dragon that you raise to keep it protected and show it to your guests when they come to visit your house, so that they can admire the beauty of your specimen. Not to take it to the battlefield, because it will end up in pieces.
