Driving a Wink Low Speed Vehicle!

- LSVs (low speed vehicles) are gaining in popularity, especially in urban / retirement communities where large, expensive vehicles aren't necessary. I get to ride and drive a Wink Solar Sprout in this video. Amazingly, the owner does 100% of their local traveling (store, doctor, shopping, etc.) in their Wink and they have never plugged the car in. It stays charged completely by the large solar panel on top! It can be charged by house current overnight if desired. The Wink has heat and a/c, although neither could probably keep up in very hot or cold conditions (the windows are the best a/c). With a maximum speed of 25 mph, the Wink is licensed for roads up to 35 mph but no faster. With simple worm-drive steering and hydraulic brakes, the Wink isn't a race car or a Toyota, but for its owner is a fuel-free way to get around.

Love the concept but the 25 mph limit and the 35 mph road limit it's just a little too restrictve. Something that can go on 45 mph roads either doing 35-40 whatever could do most side roads in America.

The WinkMotors website doesn't state the kW/h of their batteries. The model shown in the video is the Sprout Solar.
@@carshowenthusiast8349 I was talking about the power of the motor itself. I see different brands have different ratings on the motor. Some as low as 1.5kw(2 hp) and up to 7.5kw(10 hp). This is the only one i have seen with a solar panel on the roof from factory.

The Wink is all electric, limited to 25 mph.

@@carolinebray82 It's an all-Chinese vehicle, in the same LSV (low speed vehicle) class as a golf cart. It's street legal because it has headlights, taillights and seat belts.

@@carolinebray82 The owner was retired, and they said they did all their in-town driving with it; doctor visits, post office, grocery store.
