Because they are faster stock. I got a v6 2015 and love it. But even 5.0 owners tell me I should of went with an ecoboost. I love my v6, still fast as hell compared to my old car. Just I get the bone stock version of the car.
I have BBK shorty headers, roushe axle back exhaust, and x pipe but they are all fit a 2014 (except the headers will still fit). My 2014 got hit and totaled back in March so I hope they will fit my new 2016 v6. I guess I got lucky not putting it all on yet🤷🏼♂️
I want to do the same having bbk shorty headers and xpipe but how does yours sound with the roushe axle back? Do you think it would sound nasty or work with borla atak axle back?

A smd it should sound similar. A merge style x is the best choice vs a stamped style. Any of the GT aftermarket x-pipes will fit the v6 legs that come after the cats. As long as the rest of the exhaust is 2.5" or 3" depending on the x

SciolismHD if that's all you want yea. The shorties attach to the stock cats so they are cheaper than long tubes. The x-pipe can be made by the shop. If you're running the stock mufflers out back they'll make the pipe to fit, unless you plan on aftermarket mufflers. Some axle-backs use the stock size pipes while others are 2.5"

With just the shorties and x-pipe (resonator delete) it will sound deeper, better, and will give it a pretty good growl when you step on it. Axle backs are the main mufflers of the car located at the rear. The x-pipe replaces the resonator which is in the middle. Replacing the resonator with an x-pipe is the most cost effective mod, it changes the sound for the better and is cheapest. Replacing the stock axle-back mufflers in the rear with aftermarket ones or deletes will make the car louder and change the pitch depending on which axle-back. I think it is a good way to start with the shorties and x-pipe, that way you can decide if you want to modify the mufflers or not.

Dinokill any GT x-pipe will work on the v6 as long as the pipes after the x match it. Not stock tho because those would be 2.25"
