    From the dike to the lighthouse cafe was choked with weed the other night i gave up in the end. You ever fish the worm beds on the right at secrets its about 100 yards in from the reef out there ?
    On the flooding tide it is a nice spot but like a lot of places it lights up for about an hour or so and then you may as well head for la braye. 🎣🎣

      Hi there matey.
      Thanks for checking out the video it’s very much appreciated!
      It’s something totally new to me, fishing lures into the surf.
      The majority of my lure bass sessions would be out wading some flat calm water with a surface lure or pinging out a softie from the rock marks.
      Ahh the lure box is a nice one isn’t it. I haven’t been using it for long to be honest as I usually use the snowbee double sided drainable lure boxes …but it stores the slightly longer lures nicely.
      I believe this is the correct link.

      @@FISHISLANDTV cheers lad one more question what tide would you fish?

    • @FISHISLANDTV
      @FISHISLANDTV  2 роки тому

      it really depends on the area your fishing matey.
      I like fishing on the beach here with lures and the fly usually 1 hour before low and 2hrs on the flooding tide.
      Bass are quite predictable and creatures of habit so if you manage a good session catching a few it’s always worth while making a note of the state of tide and timings.
      There’s a handful of spots I bait fish for them when you can quite literally set your watch by them.
      tight lines matey

    I am surprised at the size of the lures your using, I understand needing the weight due to the weather necessary to get distance but it looks like a fairly shallow beach and I thought lures that size would spook any fish, I always start small when lure fishing if possible and on a beach like that I'd be using the size of lures you could use fishing for trout in the river.

    • @FISHISLANDTV
      @FISHISLANDTV  2 роки тому

      The majority of the time matey il use as small as I can get away with.
      Sometimes especially later in the year the fish will be on slightly larger lures such as 120-150mm in size… however at the start of the season the bass etc etc seem to be feeding on very small bait so I tend to use much smaller lures then in this video.
      I have a few small press baits for early next season which I’m keen to try for the first time. I think they will be great!

    • @robbieallan6522
      @robbieallan6522 2 роки тому +1

      I didn't know they would take bigger lures, their is a couple of spots here on the isle of man where people fish for bass and its a tope hot spot we held the record for a while with a 66.9 pound shore caught tope, anyway if we have some reasonable weather I'll give it a shot for the bass, I got some side winder lures 20 gram and 5 inches and they look so real it's amazing they swim so well I had a cormorant follow one right in it scared the crap out of me, anyway enjoyed the video and I'm impressed you slogged it out until you hooked one, looking forward to more content m8
