EAEA is a flamenco lullaby. EAEA is an onomatopoeia that Spanish mothers do to calm their children while they are crying. The song tells the story of a mother who wants to be buried in the moon when she dies to see her child every night except one (the new moon day). The red strings of the staging are very typical in the Spanish flamenco costumes. Also the song has references to the poems of Federico Garcia Lorca, one of the most important poets of Spain. I'm so sad watching people reacting to this and not understanding anything of it. 😢 Spain IS NOT Latin America and not every song is catchy as it was SloMo the last year. You're all used to catchy songs and lyrics, but that's not what Spanish music actually is. This is typically SPANISH. Also, the Eurovision songs usually aren't for listening on the radio hundreds of times once the show is ended. So, this is a perfect Eurovision song and for me, the winner so far. 🏆🥇 Bravo, España 🇪🇸, 12 points from Croatia.

This is not just a song you normally listen to. This is art, it's pure and unique. It isn't sad at all. The official videoclip has english subtitles so you can read the lyrics and make conclusions
The red ring is inspired by the fringes on the shawl of Blanca Paloma's grandmother, with whom she was very close. The women represent a ritual of invocation to the ancestors. Blanca makes the gesture of the goalkeeper, who when hitting the target, a vibration of red lights is observed. It is a typical gesture of Blanca Paloma, which has become iconic. Here she appears with an armor type top and the arm like that of a warrior (fragility and empowerment at the same time)
Another correction: Her sister didn't represent Spain in the firs Eurojunior. Although she participated in the National Selection for Eurojunior 2003 with the song 'Navegando en internet' in a girl group. Sergio Jesús Garcia was the Spanish singer in the first Eurojunior in Copengahen with the song 'Desde el cielo', finishing in second place.

This song is pure culture and Spanish folk, especially from the South, mixed with some electronic base (which I honestly don't like that much) This song is made for listening to it only in the stage with a full package. It also will need the help of the public to elevate it even more. In the spanish semifinal and final, everybody clapped at the rhythm of the song and it was epic (you can't hear it in the video with camera work but you can in the videos of people from the public) imagine that in eurovision with much more people in the public! I was afraid it wouldn't work with foreigners but I noticed in some parts you started clapping too, it's like an automatic response 🥰 Btw this year I'm so proud of her and this song that I don't care how we will end in eurovision, I prefer to lose with a song that represents us and most spanish people love than win with a song made just for winning and that most of us don't love (not the case of Chanel, I love her! But there were other songs on Benidorm Fest that were clearly made for winning but they weren't my cup of tea and I didn't feel represented by them)
Btw, a good election your logo image.
The culture of other countries is difficult to understand outside their borders, but when it is art, and in this case flamenco is a discipline that goes hand in hand with lyricism and staging, everyone can appreciate it. In southern Europe it is also difficult to understand how alcohol is revered in northern Europe and we can come to understand that there it is something cultural that they have assumed. I think Finland's favorite song this year is about the need to drink, isn't it? Difficult for us to understand but respectable too 🙂 Regards
It's true that cultural differences are difficult to understand for other countries, but last year Ukraine wins with a song in its language, and with its typical costumes as well, so...we will see :)
With all my respects if Serbia last year got a fith place just watching a woman washing her hands and clapping I dont see why Blanca can not get a good result, hopefully she wins cause good deserved It would be, its pure Art full of symbolism and elements on her performance, even designed by herself. Besides a strong and high quality voice . Theres a lot aspects to take into account you can like more or less the song but Emotions and Feelings this performance bring are so powerfull. Its hard not be in love and give in to the blancas magic
I hope we conveyed that we certainly respect the power of the song and find the entire performance very impressive. Just not something we would listen to after the performance is over :)
This was my winner last year. I listened to this song before the final and i think this song has to grow on you so you listen to it multiple times, different versions of it like the studio version. Which i think wasnt as good as the live performance and that tell a lot. I can see why this potential got lost among other very memorable songs if someone only watched the final. I still get chills listening to this, well done Spain 🇪🇸
Its not a song to put in your playlist. Its a traditional flamenco style song. Its a performance to live an experience like if you were in a spanish theatre.
The closest ones to win the national final were "quiero arder" from Agoney and "Nochentera" from Vicco, both being more uptempo and radio friendly songs. "Arcadia" from Megara was also a fan favourite, a rock song. I think we chose the best option for Spain. Any bop or uptempo song would be compared with Chanel (and Chanel's shadow is too big), so the best was to go for something completely different than last year. And it has spanish essence and is something unique as no other country would send. I also don't even have this in my Spotify playlist as other NF songs, but I do appreciate the performance, like it is some piece of art that gets you mesmerized in live play. Also for your info, there's a rule in the Spanish selection that songs in Eurovision can't have more than half of the lyrics in foreign languages (I think the only one singing a whole song in English from Spain was Barei in 2016).
Leah here. Thanks for your comments! Very informative and thoughtful💗 Totally agree that it's a good thing that Spain has gone with something way different than Chanel this year. And to be honest, although I liked that song it wasn't in my top 5 last year (it was 1. Italy 2. Serbia 3. Ukraine 4. Portugal 5. Sweden ). I look forward to seeing Paloma perform this at the final (will be epic, no doubt).
"maybe not the most typical spanish song" i'm sorry, genuine question, is there something I'm missing? this song is flamenco, the literal poster child for spanish culture, the stereotype everyone in the world thinks of when the country is mentioned...? I am very confused by this statement
I liked your analysis, about Paloma's song, this video reaction has been the one I liked the most. I agree that this song is risky. Not all the European public will like it. If you don't like this style of music it's complicated. Slomo was an easier song to listen to and put on repeat. This style, flamenco fusion is for people who like it. However, I think we will receive scores from various countries. In my opinion, countries like Turkey, Azerbaijan, Albania, or Armenia, are going to feel closer to this type of music. The Spanish people have not chosen this song to win ESC, we have chosen this song because it comes from our roots ;)
Leah here... Always happy to hear when a country chooses a song because they actually love it rather than "trying to win", because that never works and usually churns out tired songs we've heard before! I also can see the countries you mentioned liking this song. Albania's entry is also very emotional and has a storytelling aspect and I think they will like what they see from Paloma.

, #EAEA EAEA YA EAEA... is an onomatopoeia, it is when a mother whispers to her baby to calm him down and to sleep. I like the whole song by Blanca Paloma like you Donkey Bridge its, but what else... is when Blanca Paloma kneels and sings that about; when I die, they bury me in the moon, so I can see my child every night, except one, which is the night of the new moon or full moon, for me that is talking about the love that processes your child more beyond his death, there he left it... I loved seeing your reaction, I send you a greeting.
Haha, were you afraid of disturbing the fandom hype about the song? In fact your reaction is very common, at first you don't know what to think about the song unless you are raised listening to something similar and also understand the lyrics. There are Spaniards who directly hate this style of music but in my case and no matter the score it receives, I love it because there are traditions I love behind the music, lyrics, staging and the way of singing.
The other 2 songs that could be a great show for Eurovision were Agoney "Quiero Arder" and Megara "Arcadia" that ended in 2nd and 4th place in the final.
Don't even expect a song completely in English from Spain, the Benidormfest rules are, song practically full in Spanish. Also, Eurovision is for sharing different cultures, traditions and bring countries together not for choosing the best party song.

Es como decir :come on
It´s a bulería typical from Jerez - it´s a lullaby so monotonous but hypnotic - I hear here in Spain they are going to change a few things for the final so hopefully the song will be more appreciated. This song represents art and culture - unfortunately Eurovision has slipped into gay disco in the past
I really appreciate your elegant honesty. No words needed, your faces were already respectfully disliking the song. I'm spaniard and get completely your point. I mean, this is a flamenco folk song, folklore which belongs to the southern region in Spain (Andalusia) and so many spaniards don't feel represented at all by those sounds o relate to it either. This has been a risky decision by the Spanish public but we probably wanted to send to ESC something more special and unique than last years' entry and scape from the generic commercial dynamics. Of course, this is still ESC and the Eurovision public just wanna have fun, it's not an experimental indie music contest. In any case we'll be proud of this decision no matter the results, we're used to win the BOTTOM places!!! hehe
It's an excellent perofrmance, full of emotion, has heart and soul yet many people form Europe would not like it much since it's not their type of music they ussually can like so it doesn't matter how good it was they would still not be impressed by it much, I think in a different parallel world where most of Europe for some reason loved Spanish authentic music then this song could have a chance to even win..instead people in Europe like the evil and weird kind of music that Finland has for example..goes to show what quality these people all share and I don't think I like it.
Some represent a musical style and a staging never seen before at ESC and backed by the popular folklore of a country, Spain is the only country in the world that could represent an electronic flamenco show at ESC. Spanish flamenco intangible cultural heritage of humanity UNESCO. Others represent generic songs with no sentiment or culture behind it. That is the big difference. Where some listen and see art, others only hear noises✌🏼🕊️💕
So glad you asked! Here's what we say in our bio :) ... Our channel name is based on the Finnish word "aasinsilta" which, in English, we translate to donkey bridge. A donkey bridge is a phrase or story that connects one unrelated thing to another. Basically, it can be a way to turn the conversation in another direction or to go off on a tangent. On this channel, we'll be giving you our genuine reactions. We can't promise we'll always be coherent, but we can promise to have fun. Oh... and we'll try not to make asses of ourselves ✌🏻💗
Why is it so wrong that someone just doesn't connect with one particular song? I am from Spain, I like Eaea but no, this is not Spain as a whole and not everyone feels represented. Mind you, I don't normally feel represented with ANY Spanish entry lol Let's just agree to disagree and enjoy the festival!
Thanks but in my opinion you should look into the lyrics and understand the meaning of the words before you are going to talk about...It is a lullaby and it is very artistic although I can see you didn't understand it.
Sorry guys ... this is very very typical song ... im sorry you follow the stereotypes of what people thing about us ... u americans? Even the man singing something in Spanish nothing about what song says 😔
Such a beautiful song but it's a risk. I feel like it will live or die on its staging. If it's not staged well enough I think it will fail in the same way France did last year with Fulenn.
But am I the only one who finds this music creepy? Well, we can have a new Jamala only instead "1944" it will be "Eaea" a kind same history as well! What can i say: a good throat no doubt.
Your faces summarise your thoughts without words... Definitely is not for everyone's taste, including some Spanish people. For me, Karmento was a better option. Blanca Paloma has an incredible voice, but the song does not inspire me. probably the song for Eurovision was Vicco with Nochentera.

In those verses which say " my child when I die, please bury me in the Moon, so I can see you every night, every night but just one" its a masterpiece, Poesy, Deep meaning in its líric, and angelical voice and bringing something new, unique, really artistic. It brings all to betwich heart and soul. ❤ It makes you reach Heaven with that etnic and hipnotic rythm. If Europe can get It. Sure, Emotions and good quality dont see, just feel them. ❤💃🇪🇦👍😊😍
There is not another song like this. I understand that this is art and no every people is used to listen out from pop songs but that kind of songs make bigger the music and the festival.. ,🏹🏹🏹🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️

Wonderful!! A year later it’s still haunting and mesmerizing. This song and singer is other worldly. Love from Dallas Tx
It is the most Spanish that Spain send
This is not just a song you normally listen to. This is art, it's pure and unique. It isn't sad at all. The official videoclip has english subtitles so you can read the lyrics and make conclusions
The red ring is inspired by the fringes on the shawl of Blanca Paloma's grandmother, with whom she was very close. The women represent a ritual of invocation to the ancestors. Blanca makes the gesture of the goalkeeper, who when hitting the target, a vibration of red lights is observed. It is a typical gesture of Blanca Paloma, which has become iconic. Here she appears with an armor type top and the arm like that of a warrior (fragility and empowerment at the same time)
Guys, this is real flamenco mixed with electronic sounds. All you’ve listened before was flamenco for tourists 😁 Welcome to Spain, the real one.

Little of my loves

This song is pure culture and Spanish folk, especially from the South, mixed with some electronic base (which I honestly don't like that much)
This song is made for listening to it only in the stage with a full package. It also will need the help of the public to elevate it even more. In the spanish semifinal and final, everybody clapped at the rhythm of the song and it was epic (you can't hear it in the video with camera work but you can in the videos of people from the public) imagine that in eurovision with much more people in the public! I was afraid it wouldn't work with foreigners but I noticed in some parts you started clapping too, it's like an automatic response 🥰
Btw this year I'm so proud of her and this song that I don't care how we will end in eurovision, I prefer to lose with a song that represents us and most spanish people love than win with a song made just for winning and that most of us don't love (not the case of Chanel, I love her! But there were other songs on Benidorm Fest that were clearly made for winning but they weren't my cup of tea and I didn't feel represented by them)
A mí, la base electrónica me encanta. Saludos.
Proud of my country 🇪🇸 submitting such a different song this year. The Blanca Paloma’s Voice It's like some notes fallen from heaven . Definitely a masterpiece ! I don't know what the result will be but for me she is already the winner . Bravo Blanca 👍
Now it's time to do it just as well next May in Liverpool!🇬🇧

Correction from Leah: Alessandra's song doesn't actuallly start that similarly to this one... my bad! Albania's has a pretty similar start tho.
Btw, a good election your logo image.

Spain 🇪🇸 love 😍 espectacular voz incleibre
A mi me encanta y Blanca Paloma me resulta espectacular. Saludos.
Its hard not be in love and give in to the blancas magic
yeah but it was a catchy song, not just a couple of screams (it is ow it sounds for foreigners)
Love it! Spain
Albania's entry is also very emotional and has a storytelling aspect and I think they will like what they see from Paloma.
flamenco is crazy....many feeling...party ..love...passion..all senses..is ethnic and ancentral music..many influencies cultures..

, #EAEA EAEA YA EAEA... is an onomatopoeia, it is when a mother whispers to her baby to calm him down and to sleep.

AND...that's the winner
Haha, were you afraid of disturbing the fandom hype about the song? In fact your reaction is very common, at first you don't know what to think about the song unless you are raised listening to something similar and also understand the lyrics. There are Spaniards who directly hate this style of music but in my case and no matter the score it receives, I love it because there are traditions I love behind the music, lyrics, staging and the way of singing.
Spain TOP 3.👑🇪🇸
we had enough party song from Spain last year with SloMo, glad Spain changed the style but mantained the quality
The other 2 songs that could be a great show for Eurovision were Agoney "Quiero Arder" and Megara "Arcadia" that ended in 2nd and 4th place in the final.
Thank you!
So proud of this song..... but I have to say that, last year, Spain lost the Best oportunity to send a perfect folk song, with "Tanchugueiras", 💜💜💜💜💜💜

Awesome 💃🏻 Almost has a gypsy undertone to it!
flamenco is a Spanish gypsy folklore.
Almost? That's entirely a gypsy music genre...
Don't even expect a song completely in English from Spain, the Benidormfest rules are, song practically full in Spanish. Also, Eurovision is for sharing different cultures, traditions and bring countries together not for choosing the best party song.
Certainly, we don't expect that and we like many songs that aren't in English and that are not party songs :)

AMAZING 😍😍
Here the meaning of the song in english:
ua-cam.com/video/1NL_n_RCNbs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Llanostories
Why Donkey Bridge ? Story please
