No need to put spanish or english lines in this song. Italian language is so beautiful and pleasant and works so well with music.
If she does it the Italian public won’t be happy about it, but I believe it’s just a rumour and a misunderstanding of something that came up in an interview, ‘cause she said that she already sings in Italian and Neapolitan, so she might start doing it in English and Spanish, but I don’t think she meant for the Eurovision

The Festival di Sanremo is not a selection for Eurovision, that's why there's no intention to please anyone but Italian audience following Sanremo. If you feel there's something forced, it's just an impression 🙂 Whatever the result in ESC, it will be fine
I definitely appreciate the countries who send songs that the people in their country simply love. I think the forced feeling was more me thinking about if the lyrics would also change to English and/or Spanish. Mixed with the the cumbia then it could feel forced. Better to keep in its original form, in my opinion. -Leah

@@donkeybridge Sanremo Is not the italian selection for Esc Simply because Sanremo is the oldest music Contest in the World, beginning its history in 1951. Also Sanremo Is the father of all other music festival in the world because they all took inspiration from Sanremo. Including Eurovision Song Contest that was Born in 1956 from an idea of the general director of the Italian broadcasting, Rai, inspired from festival of italian music in Sanremo during a meeting for EBU. That's why Sanremo cannot be considered a selection for Esc.
However Angelina Mango Will consider tò traslate the Song in spanish because italian singers love to conquer the disco market in Usa and latino America. More than other parts of the world (Europe, Russia and so on...) 😘

Not sure there will be a spanish version.... "noia" in spanish translates as "aburrimiento" too long to fit musically in the lyrics

Thank you guys for your reaction! I confirm the news about changing the lyrics to english or spanish is totally untrue, they'll stay in Italian as it is nearly always for all our songs. The song is autobiographical and la noia means boredom even though Angelina is not necessarily meaning it as lack of fun but more like anxiety, depression: she uses a metaphor in the song that she wears proudly the pearl necklace she's been given as a young girl that is not made of wisdom pearls but of small coloured ones like those for little traumatized girls, she says people expect her to be sad and they look at her in a bad way if she sais she's ok so she answers life is hard and everybody is ok with that answer. In reality Angelina is daughter of a popular Italian singer who had a heart attack while performing on stage and died soon after when she was 13..She was in the audience and of course it was atrocious for her however her personality is to accept the good and the bad of life choosing nof to succumb to pain but accept the lows as times to grow up. That's what she talks about in the song that she doesn't want to be sad and when "la noia" approaches she dances a cumbia to chase off the sadness and negative thoughts.. so she says "a crown of thorns will be the dresscode for my party".. accepting the pain and celebrating life anyway.
Angelina is 22, she's the daughter of 2 popular Italian singers her father also a songwriter of many hits for popular artists in the 80/90s, her brother also a musician is the drummer in her band and collanorates with her in writing her music. She's been performing on stage since she was a little girl and I think it shows in the confidence and spontaneiity while performing. The video was not her best performance out of the 3 in Sanremo festival this year, it's not clear why Rai, the national broadcaster choose to upload this specific video where she's a little out of breath that she didn't have in the other performances and usually don't have. By yhe way, even though this rhythmn is inspired by cumbia which is african/latin music/dance also folk music from Southern Italy is very rhythmic and the sounds of many instruments here recalls Italian sounds, her singing style as well is very typical of Southern Italy (as you can find in "Notte della taranta" and "pizzica salentina")😊

The music is based on "Cumbia", a colombian/indian folkdance and music from the 1500 most used to chase away the grief and sorrow... so she sing "The Cumbia of the boredom"... Cumbia nowdays is a very popular music in latinamerica and not only that. This song is a fusion of tecnopop, urbanlatin, rap, italian south and classic music (you can hear that they use "Glockenspiel " just before the "a capella" piece. You should also know that the lyrics of the song really are the story of Angelinas own life and childhood...

I listened to some of her other songs and they really are quiet more slow and serious. I think song is going to make her a star for sure. The passion in her voice is unbelievable!❤❤❤
There was no plan from Sanremo's jury to send a song to please other countries for this year ESC - this was what Italy preferred and I think is a good change from the typical italian ballad (like last year).
Sanremo is to promote Italian music to Italians first and foremost...then the winner can choose to go to Eurovision (in the past one group refused and Michielin participated instead).
Then I get your point - I expect 12 point from Spain and maybe Greece and balcans countries...but then ESC is always unpredictable.

I get in the habit of comparing it to UMK which is so much about simply the best music FInland has to offer, but UMK always has Eurovision in mind, which is indeed different than Sanremo. According to various opinions of other UA-camrs and bookmakers, Angelina Mango could rank among the top 5 positions. I think the festival will be won by a woman in the language of her country, and unlike the other singers, only the song "La Cumbia della Noia" could be danceable in the clubs.
The Festival of Sanremo is dedicated only to Italian songs.
It's not a selection for Eurovision. The winner may not even go to Eurovision, it's his/her choice.
It's funny and sad too that people think that she used latin music for taking more votes, that because in the world none know that the traditional music of south Italy is vert very similar to latin music, and that's confermed from the text tha have some world of the dialect of the south Italy and Angelina is from the south. And that's the reason for I don't think that she will change language. Anyway I loved the song, good job Angelia, and good job for you two too❤.
Angelina is pretty new to the Italian music scene, but she had a couple of very successful hits in 2023…it has to be pointed out that she is the daughter of a very respected musician that passed away when she was 13 (she is 22 now), so, undeniably there was since the beginning a bit of affection and bias towards her…that being said, she is very talented, great on stage and also very humble…important to notice that this should not be taken as an ethnic entry, she listens to a lot of contemporary staff and overall does pop…I was personality rooting for Annalisa, but I’m just glad we did not send another ballad! :D With the right staging I believe Angelina will do well

cumbia is a South American dance that denotes a lot of sensuality. Cumbia of boredom means that in difficult moments you have to dance to fight boredom.

An italian point of view. All Sanremo songs are written and performed having in mind to success in the italian market, TVs and radio stations. Eurovision is barely mentioned once by the host over the course of five looooooong nights and so, absolutely no a too'-hard-try to please international, namely spanish, audience. And yes, currently the song is a banger on italian radios. I think the chance to be top-top on first or second listen, well it will all come in the end on how the staging will be done. When Maneskin won, the odds jumped in their favour only after the first rehearsal....

Vi ricordo che anche l'italia è un paese latino anzi siamo i diretti discendenti del latino. Ancora oggi in italia trovi scritte in latino in ogni angolo e parecchie parole e nomi li usiamo ancora Giulio cesare patrizia Aurelia Marco Antonio e tanti altri nomi che sono molto usati ancora oggi. Piscina idem sono psrole latine che usiamo ancora oggi.

I've listened to cumbia for years and I don't hear much cumbia influence.... unless it's been filtered through Romania... parts of it sound a lot like manele a type of popular music from Romania mostly performed by Roma people.

What are you talking about? This song was made for the Sanremo Festival! An event that has existed for 74 years and that only serves to make Italian music compete, certainly not for Eurovision, which is almost unknown here in Italy. Before making reactions I advise you to inform yourself. The singer who wins at Sanremo is not obliged to go to Eurovision... many have given up and not gone. So if they win at Eurovision so much the better, but what counts for them is first and foremost the Italian public. The rest, as Angelina's song itself says, is just BORE!
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I didn't articulate it well, but I was more speaking to if Italy would change some lyrics to Spanish and/or English, if that would be taken negatively actually and seen as too much catering to Eurovision and its audience rather than doing what Italy does best.

Sorry but literally nothing in this song suggests that it’s the typical summer song, like at all…not the lyrics, not the arrangements, not the visuals…she says that a thorns crown will be the dress code to her party after mentioning her trauma…is not a Latin song, the Cumbia it’s just a symbol…anyway, she is not changing the language, it’s a misunderstanding from an interview she gave that ended up on Wikipedia for some reason
