Very helpful video. Do you know which specific versions of the Carry have the engine mounted further back, like you have shown in this video? This is the first one I’ve seen where it’s not located under the seats. I really like the idea of having the engine located more midship for better weight distribution.
@@GhostSpeedShop Thanks for the response. After watching a few more walkaround videos, I think I figured it out. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that only 2WD models have the engine mounted further back. The 4WD models must have the engine located more forward so there's room for the transfer case.
@@splinteredbass17 This is correct. I have a 2wd 1996 Autozam Scrum and the front of the engine is just rear of the back of the seats, in 4wd models it is under the seats.
Great guide. Also, depending on specs, some models miss out on the following..... Interior grab handles on the inside A pillar Passenger side air vent. Ciggie lighter. Passenger side sun visor. All are easy to source either aftermarket or OEM from Japan.
How easy is getting parts for the carry? Acty? I want a Keitruck, but i dont want to shoot myself in the foot by not being able to get basic and small cosmetic aftermarket parts.
Great video, can you tell me which models use timing chain. I scoured the web and i get conflicting answers, some say the k6a engine is chain, others say belt. I'm in Philippines and getting retreat to buy a Suzuki chop chop kei truck but i want to be sure i get a motor with timing chain, I've had too many timing belts fail, thanks in advance 😊
K6a should be a chain.a good way to tell is to search for the parts, if a belt isn’t even offered but a chain is, that should tell you! I hope you get a good truck/ van!
For my 1996 Scrum with 4x100 I've run 13" BMW wheels, and 14" Mazda Miata wheels. 12" wheels are hard to find unless they are stock steel wheels or aftermarket golf cart wheels.
Small yet powerful, the appeal of a kei truck is that it can be used in many different ways!
Hi, WOW very informative!
Do you know if the headlight bezel can be changed out from the square to the round style ?
Appreciate your insight.
Not on this year!

I’m not sure when the transition happened, I don’t have enough of these come in for work since I’ve moved to Colorado to check!

Thanks for making this when I get enough money I’ll be sure to get a Suzuki
Sounds good, have fun with your search as there’s a lot to choose from!

I am busy importing one at the moment. A very nice video, I have just subscribed to stay connected.
Great channel, Thanks! Do you sell these Kei Trucks/Vans in Hawaii?
I don’t sell them, I just work on a lot of them!
Thanks for the vid.
What are the brands that make the coilover or even air suspension for the carry/acty that you mentioned at 9:54?
Oh I’m not sure, I’ve only heard they are available
Ok thanks, however awesome dc51t🔥
What's your general opinion on a 1999 suzuki carry pickup? Going to an auction next week and saw one up for bid.
Not bad, can be fun especially if you like to modify things!
Awesome thanks! Will see how it goes.
How did it go mate? It’s been 2 weeks so far
@@Dedsec499 unfortunately I was outbid but still looking forward to getting on in the near future.
@@low1sk8er ah well, another kei truck will pop up eventually mate
Awesome video, how long is the bed on this model?
100 inches by 62 inches
Time to go buy a Ktruck!!!
The question is, which one!?!? There’s so many!

The Acty has the most parts available for it!
whats d ac compressor is still original r12 or not?
Yes, the originals are r12. The fitting sizes will be smaller if it’s r12 instead of r134a
@@GhostSpeedShop can it be replaced by r134a?im having trouble finding.
Absolutely! Get the conversion fittings and remove all of the r12 first before adding r134a
How fast can it go. Hwy ?
50-55mph
What the name of that paint color
I’m not sure
Holy shit this truck is clean, i want a kei truck, i know they arent this clean though ;-;

I don’t know, I have a 1999 carry with the 4x100 bolt pattern and it seemed like it took a while to find 12” wheels that would fit.
4x100 is extremely common. Especially in 14 and 15 inch wheels which will both fit the carry.
Good to know if I ever go with a bigger wheel, thanks..

You won’t fit! 😂
