- Please subscribe to the channel so I can keep bringing you great content! This is a video that covers the basic things to look for when purchasing a Honda acty. These things can be fun, but they can also turn into money pits if you purchase too big of a project.
I didn’t high light it in the video but something I recommend would be to download the google translate app and translate Japanese to English service stickers on the inside of the dash and drivers door inside of the kei vehicles. Look to see if the Timing belt was ever changed. If it’s over 100k KM and it’s never been changed, chances are the regular maintenance was not performed.

I’m thinking about importing a 1991 acty for 2,000$ , I love the way these things look they are so awesome i don’t care if I can barely fit, I barely fit in my dads 944 but we still make it work 😂
2k may just be the price of the vehicle, it’s the shipping and making it legal that’s going to cost you another 3500-4k depending on where you’re located.
They are a ton of fun though and worth it 💯

I mean the bed is more functional than most pickups sold today…. So I argue the opposite. I can fit more wood in the back of an Acty than I can my f150.
Check the metal around the gas door; they weren't primed/painted at the factory.

I just bought an actual truck with 160,000 km. I know it’s a lot but it was a great price. There is maintenance records but they’re all in Japanese so I’m not sure what’s been done to it. Bit of a gamble but I’m hoping I don’t get burned too bad by it. Is there anyway I could talk to you briefly and get your thoughts on needed maintenance? If not, any advice on where to start would be so helpful! Thanks!
Use the google translate app with the camera to find out what the records say.
If the timing hasn’t been done, start there. (I have a video on my channel on how to do this), oil changes, engine mounts and the carb clean/ valve replacement is also important (I also have videos of these).
