I'm honestly convinced someone went back in time and made sure there was exactly enough space for Joel to say "GRAND DAD" before the Flintstones theme kicked in.
It might be better known these days as 7 Grand Dad, but this Taito platformer sits about on par with Capcom's Disney games. It's really that well made.
I got this game 30 years ago when I was a kid. The night before I drew a picture of Fred and wrote something like ”Good morning, let’s go get the game”. I put it next to my bed so I could see it in the morning when I woke up. Getting games back then was so exiting. I can’t believe I still remember all this. It was my favourite nes game. Oh the memories…
I found this game to be incredibly scary as a kid, but couldn't stop playing it. Some of the music can be extremely haunting. Still get major chills and goosebumps to this day when I listen to it.
Np! I hate it that I still have more to weed out, but 60 fps is just too important to ignore with these old flickery games :) And thanks, it's nice that you noticed the effort.
I had this game as a kid. Everything was so hard as a kid, now? Many of these NES and SNES games are easy yet fun to play. Thanks for uploading a full playthrough of this gem.
George stating that he's busy with trouble at the company to Fred implies that this takes place at the same time as Cogswells Caper, the Jetsons nes game.
Rented this one as a kid and yes, it's solid. The little-known sequel is one of the rarest games on the system, and having played a repro, I can say that it's definitely not worth the asking price!
This is the first game I could remember that had the ability to hang on a ledge and pull yourself up. Blew me away at the time because every game I'd ever played till then had it where if you missed landing feet square on a platform, it was over.
This was a fun little game! I remember being pretty excited that you got to visit the Jetsons future in the final level! And the obligatory 'giant mech boss battle' that was fairly common in a lot of video games, haha.
I played this game around 7 years old. 1997. I think I stopped playing around 1999 when I got my Playstation. I was good at video games and this brings back memories being one of my first but I never could get past the more advanced stuff like that boat ride from hell. I could only pass like 3 stages of the board on my own....I enjoyed the basketball mini game in this. I think I remember scorring 22 pts like you before it ended.
Haven’t seen this game in 30+ yrs! I beat it twice as a kid, and lemme tell you, this game was very difficult. One of the hardest platforming games out there . Don’t really know how I was able to clear this twice.
@@TurretBot It was in one of the later Flintstones shows during the 70s after the show ended. The song was (Tomorrow's gonna be) Fred Flintstone Day. The bonus stage is that piece.
Videos like this are GREAT! But.. they lack the fun of discovery. When you play a game like this for the first time you're learning what is possible. These are great time capsules... but they miss the sense of adventure in playing for the first time.
Honestly, I thought this game was some kind of weird dream my brain made up as a kid, but I'm happy to learn it wasn't! I never made it past the first level because of how difficult this game was, so it's nice getting to finally see the rest of the game!
I used to have this cartridge back in the 90's, but I still can't find it. I will find it one day. The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy is based on the animated cartoon TV series The Flintstones. Taito would later release another Flintstones game for the NES titled The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak 3 years later, in 1994.

After 31 years not only did the flinstones did recieve it’s own video game and not only did that game follow some of the episodes from the cartoon series BUT it also contains many inspired elements from the supermariobros games and you even could ride a dinosour,so while those supermario cartoon series may did took some inspirations from the flinstones, but it’s video game definitely took inspirations from those supermario games and so here we are in full circle🙏🙏🙏👍😁

Good game, very enjoyable and not too hard for the most part. I had the most trouble with the autoscrolling parts usually, but even those aren't that bad overall. Some of Taito's Japanese exclusives are pretty good as well - Minelvaton Saga or Don Doko Don 1 & 2 come to mind. Guess they didn't publish or develop that many NES games, but their area of expertise are arcades anyway.

When I was *7* my *GRAND DAD* gave me this. It truly is a *GRAND* game.
It was a *High Quality* Title. *RIP* your grandpa.
was your 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗔𝗗 attacked by a 𝙎𝙄𝙇𝙑𝙀𝙍 𝙂𝙐𝙉𝙉𝙀𝙍?
Damn. Someone kidnaps 2 animals. Fred's reaction to that. The genocide of every animal and person in his way
that was my reaction too XD
John Wick for real

So essentially, this game is a Flintstones/Jetsons crossover.
That made game enjoyable more.
George stating that he's busy with trouble at the company to Fred implies that this takes place at the same time as Cogswells Caper, the Jetsons nes game.
There WAS a crossover for those two shows; maybe this game took inspiration from it.
