This long-running animated comedy focuses on the eponymous family in the town of Springfield in an unnamed U.S. state. The head of the Simpson family, Homer, is not a typical family man. A nuclear-plant employee, he does his best to lead his family but often finds that they are leading him. The family includes loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and baby Maggie. Other Springfield residents include the family's religious neighbor, Ned Flanders, family physician Dr. Hibbert, Moe the bartender and police chief Clancy Wiggum.

I want to see you talk about the Beavis and Butthead episode Werewolves of Highland where they pay a mentally ill homeless guy to bit them because they think he's a werewolf and they want to become one. Be sure to talk about what mental illness the bum probably has, and include the part at the end where they end up in the hospital with like 20 different infections and their doctor is shocked that they're still alive.
“It knows you’re afraid!” 😬
The doctor's reaction is amazing.
Thanks for watching! What was your favorite Simpsons medical scene?
@@DoctorER 1:59 and 4:41 is the best clip!
Yes!! Haha

@@DoctorER although it's sad that we don't get to hear Homer Simpson say his legendary catchphrase of "D'Oh"
The part were Homers wound heals over Ralphs hand is really gross. 😱🤣
The hilarity of the doctor with syringes hanging like collectibles 😂
Lol right
@DoctorER How would people that have health conditions that can't have sedatives but need to be restrained be dealt with. I am curious because I am autistic and I can't have sedatives or general anesthesia due to bronchitis and other lung issues. I don't have melt downs bad enough that I would need restraints but I am worried if I could have a child that may. Since autism and lung conditions come mostly from genetics.
@@bronsonleach3573I had to have a breast biopsy and breast tumor removal fully awake, it was hell!!!! I'm Autistic and allergic to all freezing, anesthesia ,and sedatives. Now I need a complete mastectomy and don't know how they will do it. I'm also allergic to all pain meds including Tylenol. Not looking forward to this surgery at all. They really should have alternatives for people.
New fear unlocked: scab healing over my hand
Lol
It knows your afraid
The worst part about Dr. Hibbert's treatment of Homer's supposed psychosis: the "imaginary" roofer, Ray Magini, was REAL. Homer didn't actually have anything psychologically wrong with him (at least, no more than usual for him), so he underwent months of repeated ECT treatments (including one where he got shocked just for not knowing that Robin Hood wasn't a real historical figure) for no reason at all. And then Hibbert got out of malpractice charges by tricking Marge into waiving her ability to file suit, though Homer got his revenge by forcing the doctor to fix his roof while he and Ray lounged and drank beer.
That was like my least favorite episode.
His friends and family neglect him, tell him to get lost, then when finally finds a really great friend his family puts him through physical and mental torture, and gets piss poor apology.
I don't think Hibbert is even a real doctor. Doctor Nick is the only medical Professional on "The Simpsons" that ever offered up his credentials. Homer should have gone to Doctor Nick.
Hey maybe that's why the hospital was shut down, it's just a building that Hibbert owns and calls a hospital.
@@michaelcase8231I doubt Dr Nick is proper doctor either
@roxannewolf-6615 That's more of a physical problem with Homer's brain (which caused him psychological problems) rather than a psychological problem in and of itself, and I did clarify it with "no more than usual for him".
I guess it's a good thing I read your comment I didn't know Robin Hood wasn't real I figured it was a fake name but I didn't he wasn't real I never thought to ask
In the last reaction Bart had appendicitis because he (unintentionally) ate a piece of sharp metal in his cereal where it got lodged in his appendix.
Reaction suggestion- 1000 Ways to Die where a dude died from the prion disease Fatal Insomnia aka Living Hell.
8:09 Hey! Where is the ending? Bart had appendicitis. He ate a metal thing.
I reacted to that episode awhile back!
5:41 I loved that movie “Daddy Day Care.” Bad reviews, but hey! It’s Eddie Murphy!
Homer injured his knee while playing basketball. He went for one of those animeish flying slam dunks and got his leg caught between the hoop and the board. He then twisted backwards and fell, with the board falling after him and crushing his knee. I think Dr. Hibbert mentioned that during the episode but it looks like he broke a ligament. Dunno how realistic that could be from a medical POV.
Homer tore his ACL when he got stuck in the hoop
I'm not a doctor but I'd say that he's lucky to still have a leg
In early Simpsons shows far back as episode 1 of season two, Bart had a shtick of pretending he was sick to avoid doing a school test.
S2 E1 was “Bart Gets an F”, and he actually gets way into this scheme. Faking abdominal pain, sore arms, and a loss of vision.
In season four, that gets addressed. Mrs. Krabapple asks Bart if he ever read “Boy who cried Wolf”.
One time he complained of painful ovaries…
Bart once claimed to have Tourettes Syndrome.
Bart passed out because he accidentally ate a Metal Krusty-O that came in his cereal. It's a miracle how much he can endure.
It was also razor like, imagine eating a razor blade wrapped in fish hooks

Sadly there was a tragic accident with nitrate oxide here in Australia.
Somehow a contractor managed to get it into the plumbed oxygen system and it killed a newborn baby.

I was put under some laughing gas at the dentist where one of my aunts work at via renting the place out. She is licensed. My older cousin said that I could not stop laughing when I was like 4 or around that age. Luckily, I did a couple of hours later.
No, but on the wards where the patient rooms are, they do shut the lights out in those rooms at night and in some parts of the hallways. Everything from the nurses station out is brightly lit. They also shut the lights in family and waiting rooms when visiting hours are done.
thanks for making different soundtracks. learned a lot of interesting things
3:07 you made my stuffed link act weird.
The bit where Homer kills the doctor with laughing gas reminds me of The Joker from Batman.
6:29 Doctor already tired from this🤣🤣🤣

I love your answers 😂
Thanks!! 😎
At 3:45 you said NITRIC Oxide (NO2) which rurns into Nitric acid on contact with water, You probably meant NITROUS Oxide (N2O).
btw you should do some reactions to Mousehunt and Laurel & Hardy!
"Should not laught about people who need physical restraint"
Exactly. I told my wife that 100 pf times
The simpsons did it again 😂
Wasn't there an episode of The Simpsons where Bart falls and lands, back first, on a bowling ball? If I'm mistaken, Bart's spine got damaged and was wheelchair bound for a while.
Yes, there was an episode.
Yup! It was in Grift of the Magi (S11E9), but it wasn't his spine, it was his coccyx he broke.
I think Dr. Wagner already reacted to that one.
I love watching Doctor's reaction all of them
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this Simpsons react video. What should I check out next?
@@DoctorERyou should react to Transformers injuries like the Transformers themselves not the humans.

7:32 When you consider the school she's working at, I highly doubt that was much of a concern for them.
I'm in the second group for opioids. Last time i was in the hospital for a surgery on my knee when the nurse did her rounds i turned down the painkillers, had a dull ache but it was better than how i feel on painkillers. She said it was the first time she'd had anyone turn down painkillers lol.
Can you do Alejandro from total drama world tour , where he gets burned by the lava . He’s my favorite character on there and I’m very curious about that situation.😊❤

1:59 DOH lol
Dr. Hibbert dying from laughing gas was from a non-canon anthology episode, where Marge made Homer become a better actor for Macbeth. He just killed all the other actors so he'd be better by default.
Poor Homer. When my wife ran off the stress kind of made me snap too. I had a dream that her spirit came to me and explained, she wasn't really her; she was dead because beings from another dimension, which I started calling the ODE (Other Dimensional Entities) were using dark matter to open tiny wormholes between our universe and theirs. Then they would send a signal through the worm hole that would home in on a person's prefrontal cortex and download the personality and knowledge of one of the ODE. That all made a whole lot more sense and was easier to accept than she was a whore and stabbed her family in the back for someone with a bigger paycheck and bigger you know what else; she really rubbed that information in. Then I started doing research and discovered that the concept was not only theoretically possible, but one way that some physicists have already started looking into as a way to explore the far reaches of the universe. I had a whole list of potential ODEs from the girl at the McDonald's to Michael Jordan and Hitler; you weren't on it though Doctor Wagner. I went so far as to get a hat with a reflective material on it, that supposedly reflects sunlight to keep you cooler, but I got it to deflect the ODE's download waves.
After not sleeping for two or three days, I start hearing these knocking sounds, shadow figures were darting around in my periphery, and shimmering orbs and figures, a lot of which were rabbit shaped, were appearing from various light sources and running across my field of sight. The rabbits were really weird, but the knocking sounds freaked me out. They sounded so real, but my dog wasn't reacting to them. A few times, I even heard my name being called. The voice was like a loud whisper if you can imagine that; really breathy like a whisper but with volume. That's when my anxiety really kicked in, and the neighbors started to notice things weren't quite right with me.
You know that song "They're coming to take me away ho ho, ha ha, hee hee." Well the people that come get you don't have pearly white coats; they're just regular police officers. If you're good and agree to go with them, which I did, then you might get lucky and be "voluntarily committed" which means when they let you go it won't show up on a background check, so you can still buy guns and get a job and stuff. The Funny Farm is also not a place where things are happy all the time; it's really really boring there.
I imagine people with schizophrenia must deal with that kind of stuff all the time, and I've always wondered if the delusion thinking they experience is actually a result of their hallucinations like you usually see in movies, or if the delusion comes first like it did for me, and the hallucinations develop as a result of the delusions and help reinforce them.
There's still a little part of me that wonders if they aren't actually sick. What if the 'delusional thinking and hallucinations' are transdimensional beings communicating with them? I don't wear the hat anymore, but sometimes if somebody is acting like an asshole uncharacteristically, I do ask "did the ODE get them?" A year of therapy and some antidepressants has helped me get to where I can respond "that would be highly unlikely." It's not impossible though.
Dr. Hibbert laughs because he is a parody of Bill Cosby's character Dr. Cliff Huxtable.
7:18 to be fair, barts been lying plenty of times.

Rey wasn't in homers imagination though so he was shocked for nothing.
So, body temperature. I know that “normal” is 98.6 orally, axillary is a degree or so lower and rectal is a degree or so higher. I also realize that this varies widely in different people, different times of day, etc. And rectal is considered most consistent and most accurate. My “normal” orally and axillary is much lower than the norm yet rectally it’s pretty much spot on - 99.4 - 100. There are times when I’m sick that my oral or axillary temperature is around “normal” or even low yet when taken rectally it shows a fever. Question is: Is something wrong? I mean why the disparity? BTW - I have mentioned this in the past to one of my PCP and he didn’t seem to think much of it. Just curious…
Homer eating nom-food items reminds me of Owen from Total Drama

I don't think so...any favorites that I should check out?
@@DoctorER Perhaps when Homer gets a hammer into his eye, accidentally got a nail deep into his leg, when drops a bug zapper into the lake and gets electrocuted when he touches a fish, and when he got hit by a wrecking ball smashed into different objects. I was given co-codamol tablets (paracetamol, codeine phosphate mix) for post operative pain relief but I hated taking them. I’d feel so nauseous and sleepy on them. I just took paracetamol or ibuprofen instead.
I was given Tylenol with Codeine in it following a rather intense oral surgery. And I was either unconscious or itching like hell.
I also had a case of bronchitis that would not go away (Lasted literally 2 months) and they ended up giving me codeine cough syrup. That, I liked. When I talked to my doctor about it after the prescription ran out, he told me because it boosted chemicals in the brain, it was acting as a short-term anti-depressant. That was an interesting tidbit to learn.
@@dillonhounshell9786 a google search says Tylenol is paracetamol you guys just call things different names. So yea thats what we call co-codamol, nasty stuff, it may be good for pain but the side effects can be horrible.

I've come to in restraints in a hospital setting before. I wasn't an injury to myself. And when I came around I was sure as fuck not a threat to anyone: family, hospital, especially nurses. But yeah... don't fucking do drugs, kids. Thankfully now, this was an event about 15 years ago and I've never come close to repeating it.
I've since moved on into mental health care work. I've had guns pulled on me, been stabbed, heard several death threats, and I've had at least a couple attempts at a seduction, I think. It's what I signed up for with gratitutude.
Still funny that what goes around, came around.

You make great references to it in pop culture, and beyond. Is there any way I can implore you to make a film about eplipsy? I'm tired to trying to explain that it's neither a made-up condition or that I can only be triggered by bright flashes.
I feel like things have actually gotten worse of late.
It's not like my seizures are triggered by stress, or anything.
But yep, they are. Who wants it next?
The first time I had laughing gas was 1989 or so. I had my wisdom teeth out. It was exactly like the video for Yellow Submarine. The second time was just a couple years ago and it was very different. I was aware of everything happening but i felt nothing. I was completely numb. Eventually, although i still felt nothing, tears began running down my face in a continuous stream. I think that scared the oral surgeon because he said they needed to finish up quickly.
