I think Homer had a partial immune system because of his generation coming into contact with wild waters and other germs when they were young though he may have been affected in another way.
I was in the hospital, recovering in ICU for 2 weeks and those medicine drawers you talk about used to give me a scare. For those who haven't encountered one, they are hooked up to a computer that only allows authorized people to access the meds inside. I didn't realize, at first, they auto lock after a minute or two or inactivity. So my nurses would give me meds overnight and leave the drawer there for a few and as I was drifting back to sleep I would hear a loud click that jolted me awake. Never really got used to it. LOL
Morphine does literally nothing for me. The ONLY medication that works is Dilaudid, and because I have chronic pain, when I tell this to the staff, they all typically think I’m an addict, until they look at my chart, and they’re like “gurl, how are you still alive!? Your body like, legit hates you” 😂
Dr. Wagner, if you haven’t reacted to this already, definitely watch Crepes Of Wrath where Homers hurts his back falling down the stairs, which later magically heals when he high fives Skinner
3:15 my dad said that morphine doesn’t make the pain go away it just makes you not care about it… and having had morphine myself I agree with him…. So makes complete sense to me!
I mean, I'm pretty sure Dr Hibbert's lab coat pockets actually contain portals to hammerspace, with it's own variety of contextually-aware Pyxis machine that supplies him with whatever medication is necessary for the joke.
I actually know someone who lost his thumb and three fingers from one hand in a construction accident and had toes transplanted in place of the thumb and index finger. Big toe was transplanted where his thumb had been and second toe was transplanted as his index finger. His hand looked odd, of course, but it gave him quite a bit of functionality that he otherwise would have lost.
Dr.Wagner, thank you for your videos! Both fun and informative as always. I think that will be interesting to react to “Invader Zim”,it has crazy medical scenes and injuries.
Hey Dr. Wagner. I just wanted to thank you for posting all these videos, as an aspiring healthcare professional, they’ve been extremely informative, as well as helpful. Have you ever considered reacting to sports injuries like basketball or futbol/soccer? I think it would be interesting.
Pretty great show as usual... Kind of a missed opportunity with the Heimlich Maneuver scene to discuss "Supine" from "Recovery" positions and when to use which one... ALWAYS next time, though... ;o)
It would be great if Jordan reacted to the game "The Long Dark". There's just a ton of different diseases and injuries, as well as ways to treat them. Unless, of course, he has already reacted to this game before
Who else remembers skidding down a slide and getting hurt? Also, we constantly had the problem that others would want to use a slide while the previous user hasn't cleared the path yet. This has resulted in some nasty injuries, especially if someone lands with his feet at full speed in the other guys back after he just resurfaced from hitting the water...
Wouldn't try to get off that suicide slide - I wouldn't go up in the first place. Got high trust issues regarding material and if something looks that broken, you would have to fight me to get my up there.
The whole waterslide segment reminds me of the time when went to Six Flags. I went down a waterslide, had an inner tube directly underneath me, but as soon as I was about to reach the very end of the slide, the inner tube, somehow, flung itself in front of me, causing to fall off the tube and landing back first in the water. Luckily, I didn't get hurt, and instead of feeling a sense of fear, I was actually laughing out loud. And it was mainly due to love for water parks and because it was also a hot day, any chance of me going in a pool always satisfies me.
As a linguistics nerd, that name has always intrigued me; is damage to the cruciate ligament in the knee so extraordinarily painful that it's name is directly related to the term "excruciating" , or is the similarity just coincidence...?🤔
Coincidence. The word "cruciate" comes from Latin "cruciatus" meaning "cross". I assume it's because the anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament form an X shape
Recovering right now from a dog bit to the face. Went to the ER, had 2 hours of reconstruction surgery on my eyelids/nose, and then went home the same day. Medical shows would have had me in the hospital for monitoring for a solid week 😂😂😂 medical shows are so unrealistic, but I love watching you react to the Simpsons!!
Looking back House probably would carry random seringes 1 with who knows what and a decoy for his staff and Cuddy especially if he has an interest in the patients reaction.
I just thought of a potential reaction video that can be done, provided if you haven't done it already, reacting to the injuries in Mortal Kombat Legends. The animated films based in the Mortal Kombat games. Maybe, in honor of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 game that's coming out, maybe doing a reaction video, or more, seeing these injuries could be an interesting idea.
Hey Jordan! just a question for you. im getting a surgery for my back injury after the summer, any tips or tricks you can share before my time ''under the knife'' as Lisa would say. It is my first operation in 33 years (my age) thanks in advance & great videos full of knowledge :)
Please do a reaction to Batman injuries/medical scenes: Justice League cartoon, "Only a Dream" episode- Batman trying not to sleep 2022 The Batman- Batman hurts himself while gliding etc
1:38 I had this same type of thing happen to me when I was in a trampoline as a kid, jumped too close to the edge and one let went between the springs and the rest I’d my body went off the trampoline, no injuries somehow.
Totally unrelated. But curious to know how you felt the first time you successfully did CPR. I have to be trained in it for my job, but almost never happens. Except like five years ago when I did have to on someone going through a cardiac arrest. I know the "stayin' alive, stayin' alive!" rhythm, but mine was more "please don't die, please don't die." I don't get how you can make this your daily basis I've done it,. I kept the person alive until EMT arrived. I was so hopped on adrenaline that I couldn't think for hours. I allowed myself a proper panic attack when all was said and done. I just felt completely used and exhausted. Like I couldn't continue with my work. How do you move on?
If there was no other way, I would go down the slide, but probably not the way Homer did it. I'd try to take a bit more slowly, with my hands on the rails for as much control as I could muster.
When I saw The Thumbnail I thought I was a Treehouse of Horror Episode when Bart and Lisa went into The Itchy and Strachey (AKA The Simpsons’ Tom and Jerry) World
Have you ever heard of murder drones because I think you would like to see what things would go on in the series. Even though they are all robots. It can get crazy also the episodes are on UA-cam.
@Doctor ER hey doc i recently had a lumbar puncture done and the opening and closing pressure was 0. Is this normal also have high levels of protein in the csf
In regards to the would you still go down the slide question if the ladder or stairs just randomly fell off, my answer is yes probably wouldn't want to because of how dicey it looked. But if I had no other option I probably would, wouldn't care if I got Diarrhea.

That pale Bart and Lisa XD
Lol glad you enjoyed this Simpsons reaction!
At least they look like normal kids and not yellow freaks anymore
In the episode "Coming to Homerica" they got a similiar color after falling ill Homer and Marge too.
And who could forget the time Lisa drank the water at Duff Gardens? "I am the lizard queen!"

6:05. As long as that slide is officially declared safe by licensed professionals, I would go for it on condition that the water below was clean.
The fact they have the guy that voices Jerome on family guy voicing the Dr. Hibbert really throws me off lmao
not more signature chuckles
No matter what kind of doctor you are, you'll always look great compared to the Docs on the Simpsons
Hibbert is competent. Just into HMOs

Although, he actually did use his teammates as a springboard to perform that jump.
