Craig: "It's worth $2,500"
Seller: "It's worth a lot more than that!"
Rick: "Best I can do is $20"
oO0E omfg lmfao xD
Don't forget Rick's laugh at the end of his statement! XD
Rexx Seven well ricks not changing, so why should the meme?
Hes taking all the risk here
AHAHAH YOURE SO ORIGINAL!!
I swear this guy only goes in to get his stuff valued then disagrees and leaves
Exactly 😂🤣😂🤣
I'd watch an entire show of craig just talking about old weapons.
blep blep hell yeah, I would too!
2:14 This guy hit the hammer on the nail. This is what pawn stars might be doing:-
Rick: So how much are you looking for this mace?
Customer: $3800
Rick: Let me call a buddy of mine who knows a lot more about these things.
(Rick calls Craig on phone)
Rick: Hi Craig there is a guy who brought an old looking mace and asking $3800 please authenticate it and if it's real then quote a price of $2500 so that I can buy it for $1500-1800 and actually sell it for $4000
The so called "beard of wisdom" said that's why he won't give prices .... Since he cant win giving them.
Either rick hates him for giving honest prices, or the owners hate him if they catch him making lowball/conservative offers.... And his integrity will be in question.
on some items I find pawn shop offers fair price but for most items they always start the negotiation from half the price which expert quotes and eventually buy it for about 60% of asking price.
It's obvious these guys are scamming customers doing this
He’s got to make money off it though. You wouldn’t understand until you owned a pawnshop obviously
And that would be fraud.
He could have tested it out on Rick’s bald head to see it it ‘really’ works like an original mace. Then bring in an ‘expert’ to see if the wound is authentically medieval.
bury the hatchet and go clubbing, that was pretty good
If you think it's worth more, then why even sell it at a Pawn Shop, or even better question. Why are you going to a Pawn Shop? Go to an auction and get more money.
Wolfgang Lunar
bloody good point. hit the nail on its head
Paid scree time lads Cmon
Quick cash money
I see what you are saying but the reason you would go to a Pawn shop over auctioning it yourself is because it might work out in your favor if you can get the Pawn Shop to pay for the risk for THEM to have to auction it and risk losing $ on it as apposed to yourself.
The problem is , in an auction you must prove its authenticity, and a lot of paper work. I bet there will be guys like Craig in the auction to inspect items of course and give it appraisal.
Steel mace 1k in ge
You've just made my evening. Thank you.
That guy that brought it in should've paint it a "Rune" color and sell it. 8k in G.E.
Ye i bought one for 20 coins once
Rick: low alchemy is 90 gp.
Ill give you 20gp.
I gotta make a profit.
Edgar Valencia. x'D
Customer: do you have change for a dollar?
Rick: 60 cents is the best i can go. I'm taking all the risk
Rexx Seven still works.
Rexx Seven and was never cornie
0:50 the dude is ready to hit Craig with that medieval mace 😂
The answer is simple! IF YOU DON'T LIKE OR AGREE WITH THE PRICE THEY VALUE IT AT THEN GO SOME PLACE ELSE TO SELL IT! NOT A FKN PAWN SHOP!!!!!!
Everyone who goes to a pawn shop is desperate for money. They're a moron(or actor).
The whole idea of a pawn shop is to rip people off when they're vulnerable.
Not everyone who goes to a pawn shop is desperate.
If you are walking in with a 100k painting for example, chances are you aren't desperate or broke, you just want to move it on without the hassle of advertising and all the rest of it.
Some people are the opposite and have so much money they don't mind if they lose a few thousand to just get rid of an item and free up space.
Likewise, the more people you show an item to, the more chance you have of someone trying to rob you for it.
You have a very strange outlook.
hellasow b haha that one made me chuckle!
IKR!
I'd agree that the values given out won't be high, but they aren't low either right around the average mark. Some people only care about the high end value an item potentially has.
*guy walks in with a sheep*
- Let me call Craig to inspect it
- Oh come on!!!!
Do you ever low ball the valuation as you're Rick's guy?
mbill Nope ... my integrity is worth too much!
Craig Gottlieb And you can't buy it back either. Do you think will you ever get your own show?
Craig Gottlieb
on april the 1st can you joke about it worth 100k-1MILION $? xD
SuperPlaythat
that's a great idea!!!!!!!
No, I have to tell it like I see it.
Craig is so amazing to watch he has the best personality and knows everything
do you get paid each time to get called to the shop?
for sure he does haha! Think of him as an actor
As far as I'm concerned, it's a contract, and most of what he gets is advertisement. At least, that's the reason why Rebecca got into the show.
Craig is so boss the way he says “nice” after greeting the seller
Craig, you're my favorite expert on pawn stars. #2 is the beard of knowledge, #3 is rebecca
Rebecca #1
did u go to school to study some history offset, how did you learn this information?, antique weapons are one of my favorite things and i want to know how one would start on a path to eventually getting paid to talk about these things
the only reason I watch this show is to just listen to experts like you talk about the items. you're a cool guy.
me too I'm hooked on all this history lol
I have to disagree with the experts valuation. I recently opened up an unadvertised pop up shop in the east village that sells exclusively 14-16th century maces and just with the foot traffic I can’t keep them on my shelves
Craig needs his own show just talking about weapons.
I don’t care about all the other fluff… just give us Craig!
lol Craig face , he was like fuck me why rick
Mister disagree is back!
either he is a really nice honest guy or a damn good dealer. in any case craig is authentic.
I feel like this is the first customer to ever call out how silly it is the "Pawn Shop" expert that's called in might have some bias.
+Craig Gottlieb You are my favorite expert that comes in...well aside from Rebecca. I know she's married but her looks and intelligence are just...wow. But back to you, you are very knowledgeable and would love to come see you in Vegas sometime just to see your items! Merry Christmas! Neal Damkjer
Craig is a very honest expert, and I love watching him.
He’s not a bad guy but he was an absolute jackoff when taking about the C93 borchardt a while back
Just watching The Adventures of Robin Hood 1938 . Thats exactly the one as on here.
To be fair someone who would get the mace would proabbaly hang it on their wall so what’s the differences
Craig is such a professional man even when he's by someone that doesn't like him .
2:14 - He is literally so right in so many different ways.
Fr
bury the hatchet and go clubbing lmfao
Lmao the thumbnail 😂😂😂😂
Craig = Dexter
id hang out with craig in a heartbeat my kinda guy
did craig mean clubbing as in bars or bringing the mace out "clubbing"
My favorite escene is the Russian medal. You should upload it also. Fun, entreteaning, and historycal usefull. Good luck , love your acctitude.
polish
I know hahaha
This place would be interesting to rob because people always bring weapons in
why don’t we see Craig on Pawn Stars anymore? :/
im looking for a video with craig where a customer just tries to replicate this dude "hm i dont think so pal. i think its alot more worth pal." man i would love to see that
"I show up with my friend and he says it's 5 grand?"
If you should up with your friend he wouldn't say anything because he'd be told to shut up if he did
Seller makes some good points, the experts might be getting kick backs!
“craig is not coming in trying to help me make money” lad no one makes money at a pawnshop except the owner
if that ceiling fan in the background fell, everyone in the room would die
He offerd 1 doll hair!!!!!😂😂😂
*EXPERT:* It's worth $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00
*RICK:* I'll give you $250
*PAWNER:* Can you come up to $999,999,999,999,999,999,999,500.00?
*RICK:* I'll meet you in the middle at $350, that's the best I can do.
Nice to see you
Mr. Imgoingtohavetodisagree strikes again
is it +15?
best i can do is a mr brown famously and you're getting along.
Davis "I disagree" Weapons expert
Craig is savage.
Can I see spot-wealding!?
You don't take stuff into a pawn shop in order to get "what it's worth". Everyone gets mad at the appraisals. News flash. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SELL IT TO RICK!
Dude's complaining about Craig siding with Rick. Rick called Craig!
Do you have a script for what you're gonna say? The thing about weight in a weapon is a bit off. You want your weapon to be in a sweet spot between speed and momentum. You need to be able to swing it fast enough to exploit your opponents opening before it closes, but you also want the weapon heavy enough to pack a punch. Speed doesn't translate into raw damage. A knitting needle is going to cause less damage than a sword, despite it being lighter and faster.
+mrkiky Bla bla bla....
+mrkiky
Kind of right, but he also mentioned swords. A sword is normally flat and kind of sharb, so you need the speed and not the weight ;-)
SuperElbastardo Well you need a balance of weight and speed even in a sword. A light sword is not gonna be able to parry an attack from a heavy sword. It would just get pushed out of the way and maybe even injure your wrist.
+mrkiky apply the logic you used in your firstpost..second, i could spin the argument if the lighter sword is faster the heavier will be cut from the wrist. third, if we can compare different weapons, I say a heavy sword will loose against a gun. see what i did here?
SuperElbastardo Yea I see what you did there. You derailed the whole argument.Guns = ranged weapons, you don't swing guns, not the subject at hand, drop it. I said you need a balance between speed and weight. That's what I said in both posts. Too light = crap because it can't do proper damage and it can't withstand a heavier weapon. Too heavy = crap because you can't swing it. That applies to cutting and bludgeoning weapons. And all such weapons are found within the in weight range. The only thing that makes a difference is what extra equipment was meant to be used with the weapon (shield/armor/another weapon) and what kind of equipment/weapon it was supposed to go against. Also, weapons needed to fulfill other functions like being easy to carry or stealthy in some cases, which creates more variance. But for every task there's a balance. Neither speed nor weight will reign supreme.
Totally agree with that customer
“This guy” - Rick doesn’t know his name yet?
Steve McQueen s farm is n Santa Paula CA
Put more Jewel of bless and soul in that mace till +13. And you will see price increase.
If I was on the show I would say ok deal but if it goes for way more then 2500 like Craig said I’ll be back for more money
If he thinks it can sell for much higher why hasn't he sold it yet? My guess is he tried and no one was willing to pay his price so he goes to the shop to argue over a price he couldn't get to begin with
Craig seems pretty objective tbh. It's not in his interest to give a bad quote as it'd hurt his reputation.
Rick calls craig: hey craig i got a mace id like you to check out.
Craig: he's back isn't he?
Rick: ...yeah...
Craig: no
I love Craig
Pawn shops are for the quick easy sell, for that you're going to take a hit on price, period. If you dis-agree on the price you need to go sell it on Ebay, Craiglist, Etc.. Why stand there and argue when you aren't going to win that argument.
Hey Craig do you go to the Mansfield or Gettysburg civil war shows?
I think he sticks to shows that focus on WW2 militaria, since that's the vast majority of the stuff he sells
I don’t get how some people can just look at something and be able to tell how old it is.
They know what to look for.
Dude that guy always says it cost way more when it’s a low price
You have to explain what the Victorian era was
I love Craig.
1:10 actually it's a lot more about maneuverability, the faster you can swing the harder it is to dodge and the faster you
can recover from a swing, also depending on the type of swing, such as an overhead swing, more weight can mean more damage.
Although he disagrees with Craig a lot, he does bring in cool shit all the time
what kind of medieval wepon is your favorite?
mine is the two handed sword
They need to get a room together with that mace 😏
The only difference mate is you took it to a pawn shop
Yea but you didn't show up with "your" guy. If you did you wouldn't even be at the pawn shop, you'd take it straight to auction.
how did you learn about all of this?
Started collecting when I was about 7 years old (mostly with stuff given to me by neighbors ... WWII stuff). I'm 43 now, so I picked it up along the way. Long bumpy road, with many costly mistakes.
Craig Gottlieb i wanna know something how is it that u experts are always there to help rick ...are u guys that free ?
Great question ... it IS a TV show, but the comments I make and the opinions I give are mine ... no script, and nobody knows (including me sometimes) what I'm going to say until I say it.
but how come you guys are always available , from the looks of it it seems as if you experts reach the pawn shop in less then 10 minutes and do u ppl charge anything for a visit ?
Vipul Agarwal haha its a TV show bro.. obviously they give him some form of heads up that he will be coming in that day.. they can't leave a whole episode up to chance on him being free at that given moment..
great job Craig love the straight answers you give them!
cheers
if you don't like the offer they give you for your weapons then why go back. it's a pawn shop not a auction house
Craig buys it and prices it at 5grand
This guy's grandfather had to visit a German museum during the war.
Cool Channel Herr Gottlieb :-)
reminds me of something from masters of universe
Any old mace is better and much more effective than new mace!
This man is a sword hunter or mace..
Craig is the man!
Thanks for sharing these videos Craig!
well, according to physics, the mass of an object is eaqually as important to deal more damage (force) as the acceleration (speed).
Why do you turn off comments on a bunch of videos? I think it hurts you for subscribers etc. you got a lot of good info and knowledge. Sometimes people wanna ask questions.
if anyone knows who Coyote Peterson, Craig’s voice sounds just like him
daaamn this customers stuborn
They would fucking respect the shit out of Rick in China.
Why do people treat Craig so bad. I don't understand it. Like they take one look at him and bristle.
I really want to start collecting medieval weapons lol
Ha! Gaaaaayeee
You always wonder if an expert shows up knowing what he has then why won't he just go get it certified himself and send it to an auction house. If not, then don't complain with the pawn shop owner cutting the value in half as a final offer. Doesn't the expert know that the pawn shop is only in it to make a profit???
a "MACE" ing
get out
Craig is Neville from iCarly.
That guy, always selling his 💩 (great stuff) to a pawn shop.
It's a purple item
